Cool, I'll save my money here and get dragon age instead. I'm actually excited because I was really hoping it would be good but wasn't expecting it.

And you know what is still one of the best-looking games available, and runs at glorious 60fps without any hitches or slowdowns? Mario Kart 8. Yep. Absolutely stellar game.
Really want to play that. MK8 is the one with badass Luigi right? :p

I'll be playing later on. I can't wait to see for myself, however, I am doubting that it will be a deal breaker based on the hours of footage I have seen. We shall see.

Played my Xbox one copy this morning, the framerate didn't hinder game play. Not once.

I'd love 60 locked on all platforms, but I set my expectations accordingly given the developer, the series, and the scope.

If you're on the fence due to poor performance, but love the series, get the game. Promise, you'll get past it.

Are we playing same games? I have very noticeable and aggressive popup everywhere, with frequent drops to 24-25FPS all the time.

Oh wow... How did Ubisoft mess up this badly?

im asking the same thing...

Do companies no longer have QA teams?
I would love to write up a thread asking this question.
So many recent games have been released quite horribly buggy and it seems to me like QA teams are non-existent...

Part of the problem.

These pubs need to be held accountable. They need to stop being snake oil salesman to secure pre orders.

If they said 30 it needs to deliver that.

the game's still going to score 8s and 9s huh? reviewers better mention the bevy of technical issues; it'd be a disservice to their readers otherwise.

Remember AC3? That broken mess reviewed really well.

It's double cinematic since it runs at 15 FPS which is half of 30 FPS.

AC Unity confirmed for being such an avant garde film.

Unlucky for anyone that didn't wait. I cant state enough how satisfied I am to have skipped this in favor of DA. I hope they patch it or do something to make the experience better for those that bought it.

In two weeks, going to Target for Far Cry 4 with a gift receipt. Stupid "buy two, get one free" deal this week...

We'll know soon enough, benchmarks and more videos will be coming out soon. However, I believe it's safe to say that based on the issues with the console versions the PC one is decent, given the circumstances.

I'm not arguing against that. It's certainly 'better' than console.

In terms of the 660's performance, it could just be some weird anamoly that caused the minimum to be so low, but I'm just wondering if there are moments within the game where it just dips like fuck, which wouldn't be great even if it is around 40 a lot of the time.

It's all platforms happened, so I would say Ubisoft happened. Also so awkward coming from AC4 that ran completely locked 30FPS on both current-gen consoles.

Because it was a PS3/360 game that was built for PS3/360 and upgraded to PS4/Xbone with minimally improved graphics beyond resolution and smoother framerate?

They had playable demos of it at PAX Aus, and I figured it must not be a final build with how bad the framerate was. This is getting into N64 territory.

I am not sure whether I am more worried about (1) the GAF prophets of doom becoming ever more numerous in this thread or (2) the fact that they might be true!

Going to sit this one out and see what the wider world make of it before I dive in. Maybe a patch and a price drop's time.

They won't do shit to change their approach as long as people buy their games in millions. People really should answer with their wallets this time...

Give someone an inch, and they'll take a mile.

As soon as they felt confident de-emphasising the importance of a good framerate to gameplay (30fps is "more cinematic") then it's easy to justify "Well, it's close to 30fps a lot of the time" and "Well, at least it rarely dips below 20".

Problem is that AC is played by a majority of casuals. They do not understand the concepts of resolution, frame rate or anti aliasing.

All they want is some pretty colors, gore and a good story.

I'm about 20-30 minutes in on the XB1 version and it is true this game does not run at a great frame rate. I think the more damning thing is the pop-in... crowds a mere 20-30 yards away appear out of thin air.

im asking the same thing...

C'mon, it's not like they don't know the game performs the way it does. Of course they know. This all comes down to the suits needing the game to be released at a certain time.

I doubt it's a QA issue. Just be used QA reports an issue doesn't mean it gets fixed. All they can do is report the problem.

I'm sure the massive development team split however many ways worldwide plus the hard release date (a can't miss date for an annual series) have much more to do with it.

Here's a Gtx 660 playing on high, 40 fps average.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5MQmDdZctQ

The gtx 660 is about 10-15% faster than the 750Ti. So the 750Ti should logically be able to pull 1080@30fps.

Well a 660 is not a 750ti and an i5 3450 is not a Jaguar just for starters.

The video has no framerate, is high up when all versions run best and has pretty much nothing going on and no NPC's in it with a min of 10 in that test and average of 40 based on nothing.

Let alone knowing what setting consoles are running it on, So I think spreading FUD here is not needed. Lets wait to see a actual comparison, if anything this just shows how bad it runs from such a light example of gameplay

Ubisoft talks all of this shit justifying parity so the game can run well and yet, the game seems like it missed more than a few passes in the QA department. I'm glad I didn't pick this up. A 900P/?FPS of a game that just embarrassing at this point.

That's what happens if you want to pump out games like crazy and thus work on a tight release schedule.
No time to optimize at all, that was bound to happen

Really hoping that these framerate issues are not ignored by reviews. The game may be incredible in scope but none of that matters if it's a slideshow.

Will be holding off on this one for a while then, which works out since Im still behind in the the series (need to start Revelations at some point).

I also really hope that Far Cry 4 has a solid framerate.

You're the only one expecting 60fps from this game. All people want is a locked 30fps, and it appears they can't even consistently deliver that on PC.

...and this is why you should NEVER preorder Ubisoft games. Wait and see. Never trust them.

Well you shouldn't really pre-order any games, don't reward devs for a game they haven't made yet

If they know they have a good profit on the game from the pre-orders alone, then they don't need to really strive to make the game as good as it can be, just get it done and ship it, then patch it later while you work on getting pre-orders for the next game that's 15% done

This gen is all about releasing unfinished games and patching them later, I have no doubt AC Unity will be the same thing.

The hero Los Santos deserves
Almost 3 hours to go until embargo ends and hell open its gates to swallow this game whole.

It'll be an interesting, almost cinematic experience to read the review thread and gaf reactions at least.
