Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Minimum System Requirements On Steam

60 FPS cap is a bit shitty but it's not too bad. 60 FPS is fine but uncapped would be ideal.
Anything but a 30 cap.

edit: not sure if it's been posted anywhere but it was confirmed on the steam thread that the game has a max frame rate cap of 60. sorry people with 120hz screens.

...What.

Even Valkyria Chronicles, a game running on a 6 year old proprietary PS3 engine supports 120fps on PC. Fox Engine is supposed to be modern FFS.

Same stupid shit with DS and MGR.

Hopefully a lesson is learned here by the devs; don't use an engine that breaks if it deviates from a set framerate.

I'll still get it eventually but every time i see a 60fps cap my interest just vanishes, regardless of me being able to achieve 120fps.

I hope we get PS4 port this time, unlike semi-lastgen version of PES 2015, but don't hold your breath about this.

What does that make the 970, average?

Nah, he's right.

We're talking about THAT kind of GPU.

Requirement the same as Rising? Good at least i know my C2D E8400 and HD4830 can at least boot up the game :p
Man i can't wait until i'll upgrade my computer.

60fps lock is eeeeh but i'll deal with it.

I have no idea how my 760 is going to handle this, but considering what the PS3 version looks like I think I'll be fine. I'm only really worried about LOD and AF.

My i3 and 570 weep.
EDIT: Nevermind, seems like my 570 is alright. I don't follow tech and I was following the logic of "higher number = better" lol.

The 650 is lower end than the gtx460. Further to that, I would be fairly certain that as usual, the minimum is just an advisory line and it would run competently a little lower than that. I'll be testing that theory out on release anyway

You will have no problem, as the 650 is way below the 560

It's on par with GTX 650.

Thanks. I plan on getting a 970 eventually, but it may be a while.

God-tier. As stated the 650 was the low budget card, pointedly inferior to the last generation's mid range stuff nevermind the rest of the (non-mobile?) current generation's lineup.

And I believe the 560 (Ti anyway) is supposed to trounce the 650, not that I can immediately find direct benchmarks.
Kojima only found out about 60fps the other day, so I don't mind the cap.
The other day... in 2000 or 2001? 60fps Kojima games are hardly a new thing.

i wouldn't get too up in arms about the 60fps cap, if it's not somehow tied to the game logic (which it very well might be), i'm sure solutions to uncap it will become available. honestly, rising was more the game that could have benefited from an uncapped framerate.

and come on, a 650 is a low end card. you can get one new for like £77.

"What does that make the 970, average?"

Other posters have addressed this, but I'd love to see your reasoning for taking issue with my post considering a 650's price and performance.

That was over 10 years ago, MGS3 was 30fps and MGS4 was barely 25fps most of the time (it usually dropped below 20).

So yeah, I think it's pretty cool we're getting a new MGS game that's running very smoothly at 60fps.

Hopefully my aging Radeon 6850 can run it at 60fps without having to butcher the settings and resolution too badly.

Busy with PES, KJP buckled down and got super cereal so not a whole lot to report right now. Will we see anything at The Game Awards? Well, Kojima is on that executive panel... You'll just have to watch to find out.

Ah ok, yeah understandable. I know Kojima will drop the release date for TPP at the TGA's with a brand new story trailer... i ...i just know it.

Thanks Tora for answering.

Please Mr. Kojima. Please kojimaaaaa.gif

So you think Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain will have similar/the same System Requirements?

My machine's entering its 4th year and is starting to show its age.
I'd like to use Ground Zeros as a test run of whether or not I can comfortably run Phantom Pain or if I should hold out until I build a new rig.

I see 30fps 'whine' posts and I agree with them, then I see 60fps ones and I think it's a bit hyperbolic... Then I realize that I've become the thing I disagree with, only at a slightly higher level. I'm a monster!

I just hope there's an option for increased distance draw and higher quality LOD. It's probably the worst aspect of the visuals on the PS4 other than AA.

I was wondering the same thing.
