Thoughts on PS Experience Keynote?

The best part were the first 10 minutes and the only "megaton" was leaked a day early.

We get the plants vs zombies game for free though.

Crash is officially dead.
I'ts been over a year since they released the add with the hint.
20th anniversary would have been the perfect opportunity to drop the bomb. given crash was such a big mascot for the original psx back in the day.

It's only logical to announce his return at an event like this if there was ever any truth to it.
But since it was a no show, we can safely assume it is dead. Why Sony put that hint in the ad in the first place we'll never know

I wonder why Activision is being so stingy with that franchise. What are they trying to protect exactly?

Show was great. Loved Uncharted, Bloodborne and Order 1886. FFVII troll will go into history.

What I was missing were some real megatons. Crash, Syphon Filter, The Last Guardian.... Something like that. But that were just my through the roof expectations.

Show itself rated objectivly was a 8-9/10.

Underwhelming 2/10.

2 points for uncharted which was the only good part in the conference by far.

Everything else was indie, and the order still looks bad.

I can't go on like this, no AAA first party games.

All the time the same indie showcase, these games don't interest me and i didn't get a PS4 to play these.

Uncharted 4 looked amazing, glad to hear about The Forest coming to PS4 and a few other awesome indie games. SFV exclusivity is great, and Jaffe's game looks like it'll be good too. I liked this presentation.

Everything else was indie,
.
.

They're not real games, right?

I normally rate a press conference by how Gaf's main page looks when I return. Currently it's:

Uncharted 4 Gameplay
Street Fighter 5 Gameplay
New Shovel Knight content

Sooo, 5/10 I guess.

Edit: Ok, 6/10 for the VII troll.

GAMES GAMES GAMES, sony right now must have more games in the pipeline and still unannouced than both ms and ninty put together, They showed a massive selection from indie to big triple a. Knocked it out the park for me, for those saying it had drop offs of course it did the show was hours long for god sake and unlike ms and ninty sony have shown up at all the big shows this year showing games and yet still managed to pull enough new content here to keep it fresh.

Overall good stuff.

Uncharted 4 looks incredible as expected.
Some intriguing new Indie games.
Bloodborn looking great indeed.

No big game surprise aside from SFV was super disappointing though. I wanted to at least see Horizon or SSM. game.

Overall I am content though, if you couple this stuff with the third party games on the way, it is going to be a crazy year.

Started on a high, ended on a low. At least I got the things I was expecting: Uncharted 4 gameplay (and oh boy that was incredible), Suikoden II (finally) and Yakuza 5.

But that Square Enix troll of the century was fucking brilliant and sad. At least people will stop asking for that remake now. lol

Not sure I can give it a numbered score. I think it was enjoyable.

A solid, entertaining show for the most part.

Not enough compelling content to fill its time slot. Really kind of lost steam by the end.

Uncharted 4 looks great
The Order doesn't
I still don't know what No Man's Sky is

The FF7 thing in itself wasn't a bad announcement, if they had slipped it in during a montage or something, but the way it was presented showed a bit of tone-deafness, similar to MS' Conker troll last year or the Vib Ribbon stuff from Sony.

Yakuza 5 localization, Street Fighter V crossplay and some game footage.

9/10, better than any E3 presentation they've put on in years as far as showing things I care about.

The presentation was a bit awkward (like literally every video game conference/presentation ever), but the content itself was good.

If you were expecting TLG or Crash, you're an idiot. Plain and Simple.

No idea how it could be seen as a let down.
It was game after game after game.
Vita and PS4, great stuff all around.
Fucking A "gamers" have jaded ass babies anymore.

I can understand TLG thirst but Crash thirst? That's just a build up for utter depression for no justifiable reason at all.

Enjoyed it. They announced a lot of diverse games and gave us a closer look at games coming out within the next year. If u were overhyped from the other thread and was dissapointed, you only have yourself to blame. No one could have lived up to those expectations, lol.

Fuck you Square Enix. The rest of the show was really good.

Vita owners should be happy
PS4 owners should be happy
PS3 gets Yakuza 5

They kilt it.

Yakuza 5 finally coming to US and Europe
Suikoden 1&2 not being shackled any more
SFIV Ultra
SFV
Killing Floor 2
Day of the Tentacle
Uncharted 4
Shovel Knight
Tons and tons of indie titles

Feels like Sony made a genuine attempt at courting games and devs the hardcore audience wants, they deserve respect for that.

As someone who doesn't care about FF7 that was hilarious.

But seriously Sony shouldn't end with David Jaffe again. Dude killed the positivity entirely. lol I can swear, aren't I cool.

That said, I am stoked to see some Vita love, being able to finally play Maniac Mansion and that classic comedic timing on the Wattam trailer was great. Also indies and cool looking mystery solving Finch game were great.

Made me realize how much I hate modern games and gamer "culture". Don't want to be a part of it anymore.

Absolute shite. 1/10. Did not care for any of the "reveals" at all.

Fuck you to the insiders spouting garbage for the weeks leading up to this.

10/10, A+ for me. One of the best gaming conferences I've ever seen. Anyone saying it was a bad conference is objectively wrong and I question your taste in games.

All I want to know is when is the next time people are going to hype up Crash and TLG? They're dead. deader then dead.

Truly a very disappointing keynote. I mean sure I liked UC4 and Bloodborne gameplay but I was expecting one more reveal as big as SF5 and some classic revivals like Parappa or Ape Escape. I gotta stop falling for the Gaf hype.

I thought it was pretty great. Game after game after game (with most being actually playable this weekend).

Of course people were setting themselves up for disappointment though. Those hype threads were insane with some of the predictions flying around.

Underwhelming 2/10.

2 points for uncharted which was the only good part in the conference by far.

Everything else was indie, and the order still looks bad.

I can't go on like this, no AAA first party games.

Hah. This is parody, right?

It felt like watching like a rerun of E3, and I don't mean it in a good way. They probably capitalized on the anniversary to build hype and draw attention, because it had nothing to do with it.

It was fine. Lots of games that I'll buy.

What was that poster for of the 4 people standing on what we thought was a mech? Was it for The Order?

Lack of JRPGs (other than Suikoden 2) made me sad. No P5 info. No other announcements.

Decent. I didn't care for the over enthusiastic presenters or the ones that keep begging for audience cheers. They've got some games. Personally was not impressed by Bloodbourne much. but then again dungeon levels bore me. Street Fighter is a fantastic pick up. It didn't make me feel like I needed a PS4, but if I had one I'd be thinking hey seems like a good place to play.

Outside of Suikoden 2 for Vita there wasn't anything to get excited about. The Order looks like dogshit, Uncharted is Uncharted still, but some indie games looked interesting I guess.

Be honest guys. PSX > E3. Some real megatons here. 7.7/10.
Don't let your judgement be clouded by hype and SE.

Better than the VGA's to me due to how much more professional it was and how less awkward and weird it was.

The Game announcements were amazing...Mostly because my expectations were in check.

I don't get how some people don't understand how Sony works by now. Expecting stuff like TLG and the next at their "non-televised" event was a ridiculous notion to begin with.

If Sony is going to show TLG, it will be televised because everyone has to know about it.

This keynote, imo, was a way for smaller developers and some experimental titles to take the stage, pretty much moving them away from bigger events like E3.

On that note, I liked it. It paced very well. A good amount of big announcements. A large amount of games I have never played. Also with the added benefit that now, I can actually purchase another PS4 for my siblings because the variety of the games aren't AAA shooters, etc.

Great show overall. Now back to Dragon Age

It started really well, Uncharted looks like a god tier TPS and Bloodborne will be boss.

Some of the small games look cool, like Edith Finch, but the rest of the show wasn't nearly as strong. Would have loved to see more of games like Rime.

Guess we'll have to wait until E3 for bigger guns like Horizon.

Why even a keynote if there's nothing to announce?

Street Fighter V and a handful indies. Which should have been announced on the Blog.
Better than to dump them all onto a pile. I already forgot their names because of it.

Everything else was the equivalent of a new trailer. They even had a trailer for DLC.

Finally, all those ports. Even ports of ports. Again, better suited for a Blog post.

2/10.

Apart from the massive stroke of rage I experienced it was okay. The order was exactly what I expected: Sony's RYSE. Grim Fandango remaster looks good. Lots of Early Access games from PC which could be good or bad depending on which games deliver (DayZ wont obviously thats just a giant ponzi scheme).

It was good if you didn't fall for some ridiculous hype.

Though, I did feel that the ending was off, SE troll and Jaffe's meh game towards the end left a bad taste in my mouth.

I'll just quote myself

My honest Opinion of the conference. There were a lot of games I found no interest in. A majority of the games actually. People can say what they want, My taste aren't the same. Regardless of that, I know a good conference when I see one. It was a good conference with a lot of variety and one that serviced to a large amount of people. There were plenty of games and high quality ones at that. Most of them being not eye catching to me doesn't change that fact. Good conference, just wish there was more that I saw in it that I would have liked.

I don't think all that mega hype was needed tho which is why i tried not to. It ussually happens that way.

Really, it was a nice show tho. I mean, that was an extra e3 as an early Christmas present. I'm disapointed in SE tho. Rather than hyping up a port that they must know will never satisfy people, they could have taken the time and effort to prepare a FFXV segment or a trailer. It's odd seeing as the game was featured in the montages.

Poor Verendus. On the money with FFVII coming to PS4, but probably the reality of the project was likely beyond his knowledge.
