STEAM | December 2014 - Read OP for winter sale questions

I hate when I discover a game on Steam that I get instantly interested in, only to see that it was in a $1 bundle some weeks ago and now it's €12 on Steam.

In this case: A Settlers/Anno-like game called Hearthsland

Oh well.

strictly speaking it wasn't in a bundle, because greenlight bundles is a gamble, when you buy it, you (and devs) don't know if a game ever will hit steam.
I bought a bundle for it, gamble worked, still not playing until it leaves EA (><)

I'd rather play Anno.

I somehow didn't see you playing it, just telling

Oh rock of ages, do not crumble, love is breathing still. Oh lady moon shine down, a little people magic if you will.
Tried creating a Nuuvem account, but it's been "validating" ny name and e-mail for like half an hour without any results. :/

I guess it's just seeing that they were willing to practically give it away in a bundle before getting on Steam makes me much less inclined to buy it before it inevitably shows up in a bundle again.

The devaluation of indie games continues.

Region locking is Bad bad bad news :(

seems like whenever consumers win, the companies find ways to stop it, and of course this will make PC games more expensive as publishers get greedy, probably means piracy will increase as well

a lot of key sellers went out of business instantly

When it comes to economy/city builders, Anno is by far the best. I just don't have the time to play it with the other games taking my time. But if I had time and HearthLand and Anno... Anno wins hands down.

I kinda dropped dead by reading a name of this game (><)
looks interesting, even if there is not much to see right now

Fuck yes, Little Witch Romanesque...
WTF, did not expect Littlewitch games to reach Steam, like ever...
Maybe they will also bring All Ages version of Quartett! now? Or even Period?

So what's everyone's #1 "no matter what I'm gonna buy this" game for this sale?

Probably Alien Isolation or maybe Endless Legend or maybe Sunless Sea or maybe Satellite Reign or maybe...

Well I've given up trying to get my DS3 to work under my new Windows 8.1 setup. Motionjoy is corrupted in a strange way, I think it's a IE issue, the xinput wrapper doesn't work at all, so I've had to dig out my old wired 360 cheapo controller with the dodgy left shoulder button. :(

Someone posted that having a different username entered into the 2 fields will bypass that.
Thanks. I'm afraid that's not working for me, though. Not yet anyway. I'll try again later today.

 • MGS: GZ - $9.20
 • Shadow Warrior - $2.52
 • Crysis Trilogy - $9.20 (Origin)
 • Dragon Age 2 - $3.50 (Origin)

They have 500 games on sale.

I'll be missing the start of the sale, first time since I've been active on Steam GAF :/

Oh well, enjoy the price glitches guys! Hopefully I'll be checking out the Samsung Gear VR... Can't wait :)

Oh nice, it only takes 6.4 hours to get all the card drops in Crimsonland.

I think the longest I had was something like 4 hours it took for me to drop all Mark of the Ninja´s cards.

On another note, I just gained 100xp on my steam profile for doing...nothing? o_O Weird.

I just skimmed trough all, and I must say they had better black friday deals, two of those I missed then, because their timer lied are now priced higher, bummer. All in all nothing extraordinary this time.

you know every little obscure game, haven't you?
I'm impressed

Every single game released on PC should have either an ingame option or a fanmod to swap X360 button prompts to the wildly superior PS ones.
I mean, seriously, fuck XABY, give me Δ O X □

Just the eroges, especially those that had PS2/PSP ports.
Littlewitch games have really amazing artwork and music, and it's good to know the Steam version won't have the terrible sex scenes

I was literally just playing it and have to say that your enthusiasm for it is justified. Try sites like SteamTrades for bundle keys, there's bound to be copies available with the bundle it was in being so recent.

Say you traded a game through the steam trade system from a user in a different region, and activated it.

If they don't mention specifically that this title can only be played in Russia in the description but then they later set a lock to only play that title elsewhere, that seems kinda bullshit.

What happens, you're screwed?

Pretty worried about my Dyling Light copy again as it says RU+CIS in the title after activating it (a couple of months back).

Download FlyVPN Lite ("portable" executable as opposed to an installer) -> connect to one of the two free servers -> connect to Brazil -> go to Nuuvem -> disable the VPN once you reach the PayPal window.

Ok, I've never used Nuuvem before:

1) I won't get into any bother from Valve right?

2) Do I need to declare a shipping/billing address, if so what?

3) Won't my bank stop the transaction as they see my card being used in Brazil?

4) This will work with Ground Zeroes yeah, it won't be region locked?

That's a pretty good sale for Dragon Age 2. You can't get it on Steam can you?

Good call. I forgot about checking SteamTrades and it looks like it's available for less than a key from several traders. Thank you.

I'm glad that the game is worth being enthusiastic about, since I can't get enough of city management games.

No problems, it's authorized reseller.
I yet to use VPN for buying there, not all games need this, you can and should provide real info, as I said most games aren't region specific, at least all I bought weren't. Why would your bank do so? I don't understand this question, to be honest.

edited: forgot most important thing, if a game is region locked, Nuuvem won't let you to buy it. They sometimes "lie" about it, but no worries, you will not be allowed to buy it, if you can't redeem or play it (it doesn't apply if you choose to use VPN of course).
