Probably because its userbase is limited to owners of PS Vita.
They need something for the inevitable Vita 3000 model.
Unfortunately I don't share your optimistic appraisal of the situation.
Probably no software would support it either. I mean, look at the 3DS CCP.
Because you're making a niche market more niche.
it wont sell
How? Just an optional grip that translates what is otherwise done via the bottom touchpad to L2 and R2 triggers.
It still wouldn't add clickable sticks.
That one probably won't have Webkit :/They need something for the inevitable Vita 3000 model.
I think people are incorrectly assuming, that this would be for new vita software.
This. I mean, it would make sense to have a L2/R2 grip just for that, not for native Vita games.Lack of L2/R2 is why i wont even waste my time making remote play work.

stil think supporting a ds4 is a better option, its missing more buttons than just those 2 triggers, and the sticks kinda suck.
it doesnt enen need to be an add-on function... (just an attachment that uses pads to "press" the back touchpad, as opposed to additional software tweaking)
basically it could just have triggers that have those ipad stylus nibs, and when the triggers are pulled the nib just touch the back touchpad.
This means it would be supported by EVEYTHING regardless of if a game was specifically developed for it or not.

where would the grip go?

There's probably a good reason why it doesn't exist but i know i want one.
