You could literally platinum it on your first play through.

Just curious, what is your background? It's still a tremendous effort though. It's a flawed gem.
I'm a sucker tight art direction, and this ranks right up there with Deus Ex:HR, Killzone 2 and PoP2008.
1- can we preload in the U.S.
2- when does it unlock
3- someone talk me out of this, it's def a game to buy physical I'm guessing
Just curious, what is your background?
I am a member here but not a regular so to speak, and I am curious as to why people are letting your single opinion dictate whether they are going to make a purchase or not.
It is not a knock against you whatsoever, I am truly and sincerely curious what makes your opinion a definitive one that is powerful enough to sway people's intentions.

I will say, that after playing through it a second time, the gunplay is nice and meaty, and even more satisfying now that i have experience. I've been experimenting with Galahad's melees; throwing smoke bombs and running up and wrecking shit. I've seen some brutal shit that I never saw during the first playthrough.

I didn't realize the GAF length discussion (and other sites') had made mention into Kotaku: http://bit.ly/19tIf5o

I don't have a problem with the characters either; they're quite engaging I thought. The problem is some of them need more fleshing out; more backstory would have been welcomed. There was a bit that I missed first time through; there are little hints here and there that give away possible motivations behind certain characters.
I know I'm willing to spend more money on games than other things because it's a hobby I enjoy supporting. Kind of surprised that doesn't seem to be the prevailing position on GAF.
It's always funny how juniors get treated and yet often they are far more calm and rational than some of the idiot members here.
Huge missed opportunity on the story.
I was nervous about it, honestly. Too many games have had great promise with the story and once I get through them I end up feeling cheated. I was hoping with this it wouldn't be another Heavenly Sword scenario. But for all the secrecy they had, and those promising Dev diaries... It let me down.
They didn't have enough time, evidently. The plot strands, story elements, characters, they all feel cobbled together and unsubstantiated.
Yeah I use to be surprised too, but not anymore. "Value for money" seems to play a huge part in how a game is perceived, even amongst enthusiasts. Probably due to it being a mainstream yet relatively expensive hobby.
This is sterling work right here. The Order: 1886 |OT| Ready at Dawn. Done by Mid-day.
Does anyone have any idea what the real title'll be?

It got 17 pages deep in only two hours. Review thread #2 will be a riot.

GAF had a thread about the game's promise of dynamic destruction here. One minor gripe with the game, I remember reading about hugely destructible environments and that is nowhere to be found in the game, it's just some wooden structures/cover and some glass that can be destroyed and the rest is indestructible.
(full article)VG 24/7 said:The game has dynamic destruction, and while were not talking about Battlefield 4 levels of military bombast, Ready At Dawns surface and environmental destruction is rather impressive. We saw Weerasuriya jump into a stone courtyard and pumped rounds from the protagonists Combogun an assault rifle and shotgun hybrid into a brass fixture set into a wall. The object crumpled and imploded with force after each round found its mark, deforming it in real-time.
He then spawned in a bunch of teddy bears and went all Robocop on their stuffed asses, first blowing off a head, and then four limbs one at a time. This might sound like a gimmick, but we were all assured that dynamic destruction, texture warping and convincing object physics lie at the heart of The Order: 1886′s gameplay. When the crowd asked why, we were told it wasnt yet time for that particular discussion.
I don't want to get too detailed as the game is not out yet. I plan on beating it tonight but even than I will comment very broadly without specifics. Why there aren't any impressions from the couple of dudes who recently posted pics of the game?
Not even some early impressions? Come on guys.

Sounds like no. There are destructable elements of the environment and lots of gore but not as comprehensive as that demo had.GAF had a thread about the game's promise of dynamic destruction here.

How is it at the heart of the game ?From what I understand, it does, but the problem is not EVERYTHING is deformable/destructible.
However, the items and environment pieces that can be affected do indeed match up with that level of detail.

I do like how the gun play feels. Very loose yet there is some weight.

I'm pretty sure they're vampires and the knights of the round facade is simply a farce to undermine their centuries-long lycan genocide.I'm only about an hour in so far, but one thing that's really jarring to me is the lack of any reflections of the character in the mirrors or windows, despite the surfaces being highly reflective.
Goddamn the Review thread got bodied that quick? lmao
OT: I'm liking what I'm hearing from the impressions as well.
