IGN First: Bloodborne Story Trailer

Ahh.... is there a PS4+Bloodbourne bundle yet? I've held out on next gen precisely for this game.

Do you live in Asia or Europe? If so then you shouldn't have a problem finding a bundle. If you're in the US then you're just going to have to buy the game and console desperately. SCEA doesn't do too many official bundles.

There's going to be creepy plague turned baby enemies, aren't there.

FUCK THAT. I hate those fuckers. Dead Space, Dying Light, now here. NOPE.

I loved that line for some reason. Seems almost poetic in a way, and evokes a lot of mystery. The delivery was also spot on. Seems like the voice acting in this game will be great, just like in the Souls games. (Honestly one of my favorite parts of those games is how good the voice acting is.)

From/Sony are killing it with the taglines for Bloodborne, between that and "So the nightly hunt begins..."

Makes the game easy as hell to market.

Don't need much hope for that, it's pretty much a guarrantee.
although this game is being made by an esteemed developer in a now established and made-popular genre, it is a new IP exclusive to Ps4, as was driveclub, and tomorrow's order. I hope you are right though.

i mean hell - LBP1&2 got great reviews, and LBP3 sure dropped the fucking ball. slightly irrelevant but you get my point.
pretty sure the vegas line will be sliiiiiiiiiiiiightly higher than 65
the vegas line?
Honestly I would be stunned if any more big budget AAA first party Sony games have the problems the Order seems to. You van just watch the order gameplay on YouTube next to this and know it will review better. Not only that but impressions have been good for bloodborne since the beginning.
most impressions for the order were good as well, although it was mostly the graphics. only very close to its release date did the controversies about its lengths arise. i don't know how long people have been flank about the QTEs though.

Nooope. I'll resort to a resounding faceplant. I'll wait for a deal on the ps4 until the game launches then.

Can't think of a better present to give yourself. Make sure to take the day off from work. You are going to have set up time, updates to download, etc.

Already have two weeks booked off starting from the release date. Completely unrelated and booked it randomly, but that timing!

Well you know Demon's Souls already had that but the area it's in is spoilery. But yeah their plague babies are crazy.

PS4 purchase just for Bloodborne? I get all the multiplatform releases for PC, so I don't need one whatsoever.

Dammit my mind says no, but my heart is telling me yes. Demons Souls and Dark Souls are two of my favorite games of last gen.

what are you doing waiting around then.

Looks great. Another digital pre-order for me. And we'll probably see the same amount of pre-release
coordinated
hate like Driveclub and The Order for Bloodborne.

as someone who hasn't played dark/demon will you have to find ammo for the gun and if so will it barely be available? i realize bb isn't out but if it was in old games how did it go in those?

Just going by the demo, you'll have 'enough' to use for situations where you might need to use it, but you won't be able to spam it like you could with arrows and bolts from Souls. Which to be fair, they're not meant for damage anyway.

Maybe there might be a shop to buy them but for now you get them from looting.

Yes, you need ammo for firearms. In the alpha, there was a 20 round carrying capacity and bullets weren't scarce, but you definitely couldn't go around spraying shots everywhere.

Oh. You were serious.

I have zero concerns regarding how Bloodborne will be critically received.

Nah....they were shitting on it since the first gameplay reveal.

they were doing that with Kz2 too because it was a prerendered sequence (from my understanding it was also a target render, and they definitely met the target) but when that game released it got very good reviews.

In the alpha, ammo was available at a steady rate. But they don't necessarily explain to you that the gun is meant to parry and stun, so I found myself shooting when I shouldn't have, expecting to kill things with it. Because of that, I ran out quickly. Subsequent playthroughs, however, I was never running out.

yeah. I was.

I'm confident that this game will get good reviews (I also had that confidence for dc and lbp3...) but there is still a chance it will get something lower than most expect. I just hope that isn't the case.
Eh. PS4 leading console and exclusive.
yeah, so why are you disagreeing with him?

All I know is that RAD was showing a demo to press a while back at various events and all the impressions I read were concerning and they were underwhelmed by the game mechanics.

LBP 3 was not developed by Media Molecule, though. We have the main all star cast creating Bloodborne. Besides, how can you not watch that video and see that game has been created with great care and devotion to the Souls style of gaming? Honest question.

Edit: fuck all to review scores imo. I'm not going to let some Internet voice tell me what is good and what is not. All I have to do is watch some footage and I can make my own determination. From the bias and freebies, thinking that an Internet personality is going to give a fair and honest review is crazy. Even if you found one who would, I doubt we have the exact same tastes.

Ok can we stop worrying about this game because a game that has nothing to do with Bloodborne, except being a ps4 exclusive, got bad reviews?Unless its that "concern trolling" stupidity.

You might as well worry about every other game that is coming this year because thats how irrelevant The Order is with Bloodborne

that is a good point actually, MM did not make LBP3. evo had a history of making racing games though.

I'm not trying to take away from the authenticity of this game. I want it to be a critical success and ever since it was still project beast (with all the hype), seemed like it would be the first big hit for Ps4. and it's shaping up to be just that.

but with Ps4's streak of lowly reviewed exclusive games, I think it is still a legitimate worry. I'm hoping for the best and that bloodborne will be universally acclaimed.

Hopefully the trailer clears up the game's title.

You'd not believe the number of people who are like, "wait, why did they add an 'e' to born?"

They are lowly reviewed because they aren't very good, not because they are exclusive.

yea it definitely looks more like a stun which is why I wondered if you could pretty much do it at will. Can't wait!

to watch or not to watch?

Don't do it! Playing a Souls game (completely) blind is one of the best experiences you can have. I know it's hard but don't spoil anything for yourself. It's been hard on me too but I've managed not to watch any previews/trailers since the announcement at E3.

I would be extremely distrustful of any reviews from the majority of publications in regards to games like Bloodborne (or even Dark Souls or Demon Souls). Sure they review highly but I don't actually feel as if the reviewers have an understanding or can talk in depth as to what makes the games so good.

And to this point, Dark Souls 2 is rated similar to Dark Souls 1 but I'm sure the major consensus is that DS1 is the better game. The nuances that separate the two games just don't get covered by most reviewers. I feel its always been a hollow high score in that regard and I expect Bloodborne to follow that trend.

Also i would like to add that Amazon US randomly has the 2 games with PS4 deals. Dying light & Mordor were added to the TLOU bundle randomly so i would keep an eye open for bloodborne randomly being added in.

I do not agree with that. I think among people that loved DkS1, sure, but the superior tutorial, less-linear opening, less arbitrary or subtle zone gating, fast travel earlier, and better balance between builds helped make the game far more accommodating to new players. No low points like Blighttown or Lost Izalith also helped.

Shrine of Amana and Harvest Valley would like to have a word with you.

You are in the minority though. The poll we had on Neogaf was essentially showing DKS>= Des >>>>> DKS2 and honestly I'm sure this is reflected in the Souls community.
