Haly

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
I hope the ending to Shirobako gets Jiggly Heaven'd.

Let me know if anything needs fixing.

Darkstalkers wtf? I thought I was the only person who remembered there was a shit cartoon of that.

Man whenever you guys post Tokyo Ghoul gifs I can't help but notice just how lame the combat looks.

It is lame.

Is there a story reason for them painting their fingernails black

Uh...trauma I guess. His hair also turned white at the same time.

Maybe it's like JoJo where everyone just naturally wears lipstick and finger polish.

Because the source material is so good.

Pretty much this. The Anime isn't the reason why most people watch it, the reason is because of the source material. You can literally call the anime a butchered condensed version of the manga.

Pierrot once again gets the last laugh. Fuck them for ruining a solid source material. Now I'm really scared to watch the last episode.

Now imagine if you'd seen this immediately after School Days.

Well both the final episode of School Days and Episode three were all about
heads, they both were missing one is sad disgusting ways...

Greatness is happening, thats what. Madoka is the shit. Often drowned in despair and exact words, but so goood.

This show is so good. Its just sublime. And to have character designs by her adorableness Ume Aoki in addition just put it on an untouchable plane.

The character designs are definately cute, but like Baalz and other have said, this is a different tone to the story than you would think from that artwork, lol.

I know this isn't really a recommendation thread, but, other than making a new thread I figure I'd ask here.
I want to watch another series like Space Battleship Yamato 2199. The newer one, holy shit I love it, the ending was kinda tame, but overall it was really good. The live action movie sucked though.

Cross Ange: I kid, I kid, look through thread history for the "inside joke" in that Sorry I can't help too much, I'm a NOOB Cross Ane is Sci-Fi and not too bad btw...

Gurren Legann had a flying boat in it though and had a lot of sci-fi elements to it, so maybe that would work..

Madoka Episode VI... OMFG, seriously that is some messed up stuff right there..

I mean, all of their conciousness is in the soul gem now and their bodies are lifeless puppets.... crazy.

It all seems fairly appropriate.

The thing is that I'm sure Mr. Mizushima & Co., standards must be pretty high because I found the episode rather nice, I think in line with what we've seen from the series until now! I suspect the worry was mostly caused by being a pain in the ass to deliver in time this episode achieving the specific quality threshold they wanted... hence the extra efforts with 8 different animation directors that collaborated on it! Maybe they thought more outsider people would notice this...

Yeah when the staff list for Madoka Magica was announced people got really excited because Urobuchi is known for writing fucked up stuff and Ume's work with Hidamari Sketch is the cutest thing in the world (aside from Cardcaptor Sakura)
Combining the two, japanese were jokingly calling it Chidamari sketch (bloody sketch).
The studio originally took great pains to try and hide Urobuchis involvement and make people think Madoka magica would just be a cute little magical girl adventure. You cant hide things from the internet though.

What an interesting combo for sure. I just started Episode VII, but Crunchy crashed, so I'll have to finish it and the last 5 episodes tomorrow.... Thsi is definately an interestign one for sure.

- If that is the case, what was that whole conversation
Juumonji Katsuto had with Tatsuya outside the ball during the competition?
Also, I'm assuming the classmates know of his special powers, however, they are unaware that is is inhuman then... With him being inhuman, why is his sister, so "in-love" with him on an uncomfortable level?

Also, starting Madoka #3 now.... I think I'm scared....
As far as everyone knows, the siblings relation to the Yotsuba is a state secret. Since Tatsuya displayed amazing capabilities during the competition, Juumonji just wants him to join one of the clans in order for Tatsuya to be more distinguished, the clans not look pathetic compared to a so-called nobody, and strengthen the clans overall.

As for his sister, you get a tiny partial explanation at the beginning of episode 1, but the full story has it's own arc, the Reminiscence chapter.

Most amazing outcome was how even after the leak until the episode 3 spin Mr. Urobuchi tried to mislead people on Twitter with the 'hey, I want to make happy things too!' argument. :-D

It makes sense that he wants to protect the clans, but she would be a prize wife for him. I'm guessing his tone/idea changes once he finds out who Tot really is.

I'll have to re-watch E1 again, I can just remember that they are 11 months difference in age and may have different daddies or something. . I hope they finish the series that was confirmed last year to make more sense of it..

Except we saw Saya no Uta. Only a truly warped mind could come up with such a story.

Yeah, thete is nothing "happy" about this story and I can already gringe at where it can get worse in the last 5 1/2 episodes as well.

come in my shame circle
Grisaia no Kajitsu 1-3

I...I don't know what I'm watching.

On a plus in three episodes the main character is a bit more likeable, his no emotion jokes have grown on me. And the little sister character who is now just following him around and copying everything he does has kept me from dropping this after 3 episodes.

I have no clue what this story is about and from how it is going feels like some ridiculous gore or horror shit is due to appear anytime soon that will totally ruin this.

Damn, so a lot of room for growth as I thought.

Ahah that's were it get gold.

she actually has 2 fiancés, juumonji being one of them .. think like potential parteners . The familly is powerfull enough to afford that and this make a situation if something happens to one ( male contenders ) easily solved.
None of them are pretty happy about that ( since it's a decision they didn't make ) even if they realise that they have both of their clan pride at stake. there is a fun discussion about that in S2 should it being made.

No the classmate know that he has ties to the military. That's all. None of them witnessed the insane "bring back people from the dead" affair that he can do. For them tatsuya being strong as he is make sense if he is tied to the military and a reserve unit.
They don't know about his condition. Those who know about tatsuya hability to reverse events ( those present when miyuki told them ) don't know about the fact that he lack true emotions or that he was the product of experiements. They think it's his innate hability ( thinking / explaining why the military would want him )

Finally , miyuki is so "in love" because of multiple reasons that would be explained in a S2. let's just say that tatsuya earned it by his actions in the past. ( it's an incredible flashback arc ). One of the reasons is that the only true genuine ( not fake ) emotion tatsuya has , is his sibling love for miyuki as it's the driving force for every action he takes. There are other multiples reasons that i can't list because of spoilers but trust me, this is not something done on a whim by miyuki.
Ps: when they met , miyuki disliked tatsuya A LOT.

I haven't been following it but I read the manga, what happened in Tokyo Ghoul to make everyone so upset?

Skipped major plot points like:

- How are one eyed ghoul produced
- What happened at the end to Kaneki?
- Changed Hide and Kanekis meeting
- Cut the manga end scene where the major bad player is shown
- DIdn't show certain people being alive
- Cut a few fights

Also:

- Made Touka even more useless
- Prison was the worst thing ever
- The OP is bad
- Still have the balls to tease Tokyo Ghoul Re:
- Will make an OVA [JACK] which will do nothing at all

It was just bad. Hoping for Tokyo Ghoul Brotherhood or some shit. It deserves it... Read the Manga. :-/

Does it have the same dark tone as Madoka? I may need to check another one off the list with a different tone first, lol

Yeah it really is dark like Madoka but in a different way.
Its quite possibly even more messed up.

In any case I recommended Acchi Kocchi before to lighten the mood.

Damn, I guess all I can do is hope they finish drawing up season 2 and start the damn thing to see how it plays out.

A few friends and I cut the line for the Tokyo Ghoul premiere at AX on a lark. Yeah, people really like that series. Couldn't tell you why.

So that Tokyo Ghoul Route A ending huh...

I'm not even entirely sure what happened. The manga is just leagues better than the anime, I don't know why they insisted on making an anime original. I can't say I didn't enjoy all of it though. I'd probably give it a 6/10 due to the scenes I liked, which were mostly just the fight scenes, and even then most of those were still botched compared to the manga.

anyway, if anyone is considering watching Tokyo Ghoul id strongly encourage you to read the manga instead because it's amazing.

also re: anime confirmed? How would they even go about this.

Isn't Tokyo Ghoul about like sentient zombies/vampires kind of? People REALLY love zombie/vampires and stories of that kind. The Titans in AoT are basically giant zombies which I think helped with that show's appeal.

tbh tokyo ghoul stans are so obnoxious it turned me off of even given the manga a chance ._.

It's a good series imo. It has a lot of problems and can be absurdly edgy at times and I don't really know where it's going but I still enjoy reading it. It took me a long time to finish it though.

Also Touka got shelved super hardcore and she was one of my favorite parts about the early Tokyo Ghoul. At least there's Akira now, I guess

Ghouls are more like vampires. There's pretty much no difference on the physical level to tell if a person is a ghoul, kind of like Parasyte. They can't eat human food, only coffee and they have some shit in their blood that is 10-15x the normal amount you can scan and that's why they can whip out gummi worms from their body.

Tokyo ghoul was good in my eyes until this last episode. Just what was that. Such a popular show, with so many viewers, how could they think ending it like this would be alright?!

They're essentially biologically sympathetic vampires akin to the ones in Shiki (can only survive on human meat). But there's a pretty big action component to it with character-specific abilities and a ham-fisted "maybe humans are the real enemies?" message like Parasyte and other stuff.

I dropped the second season because I wasn't a fan of the direction they were taking the story (went in a different direction than the manga, but that's not why I dropped it).

I must say, if that doesn't put a smile on your face, you must have no soul left, lol.

I guess I'm soulless haha, that aesthetic has never done anything for me in the slightest, ditto to the music, in fact I actually find it grating :$ Different strokes and all that I guess.

It makes me severly disappointed on how Studio Pierrot further damaged Tokyo Ghoul's image. Some will probably assume that the anime is like the manga, which is definitely not the case. They made a solid source material into a incompetent mess with the anime. If they touch Re the sequel to Tokyo Ghoul then RIP me. The Pierrots always get the last laugh ahahahahahahahaha..........😔

Oh well at least I have Gintama to heal my soul.
