The biggest disappointment wasn't Gohans attitude or the Saiyaman stuff but the fact he becomes so weak later on and even ends up screwing up the Buu stuff.

I really liked it. The Buu Saga has its ups and downs and this was one of the better parts I think. Videl was a really cute addition to the series. I think Gohan's and Videl's relationship, awkward as it was at times, is certainly way more interesting than how Goku and Chichi got together.

Gohan was one of my favorite characters, so I liked seeing him grow up and seeing the focus on him instead of Goku for a change, and this arc was a way for the series to develop his teenage character.

And then as the Buu Saga progresses, Toriyama just straight punched me in the goddamn gut. It really made me angry at the series for several years.

We wouldn't have gotten the fight between Goku and Cell if that were the case. Chichi would MURDER Goku if the hyperbolic time chamber aged them that fast. She nearly had a panic attack as it is from seeing Gohan turn blonde.

Also, they spent less than a day inside. Even Vegeta was surprised. Goku had already realized that Gohan was stronger than him and that Gohan would be the only Saiyan to ascend to SSJ2 against Cell.

That being said, Gohan won in the end. He got the prettiest girl and married into probably the second richest family in the world after the Briefs.

There is a case to be made for Krillin but that bum still lived at Kame House afaik. 18 didn't even move them out after she bled Hercule dry.

It was the final high point of the DBZ series.....Man I hated the Buu Saga when I re-watch DBZ I stop after the tournament gets messed up and they all fly off it was all downhill from there.

Jesus, they really threw Videl under the bus with her character development. She went from being a hardass who seemed like she knew her stuff and could fend for herself to....soft. Gohan said "if I'm going soft, I'm taking you with me!"
