Bloodborne Screenshots Thread (Warning - Open Spoilers)

UPDATE: Some people are wondering how we're taking shots without the player character. There are several ways. The easiest way is to zoom in with the Monocular item, and then use the Sit Down gesture. Alternatively, you can just use the Monocular item, and shuffle up against some geometry, moving your character's shoulder out of the frame. Or you could just use the Sit Down gesture, your back against a headstone or fence or other low-lying bit of geometry, and angle the camera up and over your character's head. :)

Bloodborne is a gorgeous game — especially when you toggle off the HUD under Environment in Settings. This is a place to share your screenshots. Those who want to avoid spoilers can stick to the OT... Anything goes in this thread. :)

Here are some screens I took tonight using the PS4's Share function. Please feel free to share your own. I know BruceLeeRoy made some amazing panoramas, for example. :)

A screenshot thread with no rules on pic limits per post isn't going to work well.

edit: You look like Michael Jackson under the mask ;)

TAJ

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
What's a "CA" effect? I only take pretty pictures — I don't know how to describe the effects in them!

Chromatic aberration. Also known as color fringing. It's like looking at a misconverged CRT.

It's a girl. I named her Ophelia (inspired by Pan's Labyrinth, although I went with the Hamlet spelling). :-3

The girl noses look Jackson-esque by default. I try not to fiddle too much with the faces in the Souls games. They give you so much control, and it can lead to... interesting results.

I want to buy the FromSoft art team a round of drinks. They just keep outdoing themselves.

Just started using this as my current wallpaper btw:

Probably going to have to add a rule of 2 or 3 pics per post for this to work. Awesome pics anyway! I'll post some when I take more, or cross post some of mine from the console screenshot thread.

Anyone pro enough to take screenshot for Bosses? They look awesome!
Also, more Japanese dev should stop using flat ground texture.

is there a way to not have your body block half the screen in monocular mode?
I find that if you just keep stepping back and forth sideways, or push up against some geometry (like a half-wall), it'll often minimize or outright conceal your character.

Another trick I used quite a bit with my pics in the OP is the gesture where you sit cross-legged. You can often angle the camera up and over your character, for what effectively looks like a first-person view.

It'd be great if they'd add a Photo Mode. I know they like these games to be challenging, but it shouldn't apply to screenshots, lol.

I'm glad people like Dawg and the others took screenshots of the post-Rom cutscene. I never screencap the cutscenes because I like to save them as video, and once you hit Share (whether to save a screenshot or video), the video-recording process restarts from that point. :-\

How are you guys taking screenshots without your character showing up?
Trickery. If you use the monocular item, which zooms in over your character's left shoulder, and shuffle around enough, pushing up against geometry and such, you can make your character virtually disappear. Another trick is to use the gesture where you sit cross-legged; do it near a half-wall or slope or other bit of geometry, and you can push the camera up and over your character's head, so that you're effectively getting waist-high first-person view.

That's how I achieved the viewpoints in many of the OP screenshots. I'm open to new tricks, as well. And maybe Yosp will see this thread and convince Miyazaki to add a proper Photo Mode to the game. Would be great for a photo safari NG+. :-D

That cutscene in particular was beautiful. What From Software lacks in technical perfection, they make up for with great art design.

Good tips, gonna try them out. Thanks!

Fantastic screenshots. The art and world design is simply beautiful.

Lovely shots, everyone! :)

This seems like a higher number of Messengers than usual for the lampposts, at least going off memory. Is there a way they increase?

I've had even more show up for some lampposts. Not sure what it's related to.

People think it's related to how many hunters (players) are currently in that zone. If you go offline none show up besides yours.

I've only been playing offline (can't be bothered to pay for PS+ when I would hardly use it), so that would explain why I see fewer messengers at the lampposts.

Really wish you could teak the DoF settings in this game for screenshot purposes. Some of the background art is hidden using the DOF stuff. FROM have some amazingly good textures in their games that get sadly hidden sometimes.

A toggle for motion blur (in a Photo Mode, perhaps) would be nice since many of the enemies become an indecipherable blur if you try to screencap them as they're attacking you.

I also wish there was an easier way to screencap bosses, but most people won't take shots of them because they like recording video of their fights, and if you use the screenshot feature during a boss fight it'll reset the video recording.

Also, the game continues while on the Share menu, and you can't pause the game, so YOU DIE, lol.

Neiteio, how the hell do you managed to take screenshot of that fly man without aggroing them? I swear they have the tightest aggro in the whole game.
That fly shot is easy to reproduce if you want to try it. It's the fly-man at the top of the spiral staircase in Byrgenwerth. He won't aggro until you're on the same floor as him, so it's easy to whip out the monocular and zoom in on him while right next to him on the stairs.
