Call of Duty: Black Ops III Announced - 26th April Full Reveal

That sounds awesome.

I really think the boost jump negatively coloured people's options of an 'exo suit'. Heck the boost jump wasn't even a constant part of the exo's in single-player, it's just that it was incorporated into multiplayer in an attempt to improve 'verticality'.

But that isn't Call of Duty's issue. There's a 180 degree or so arc of engagement in Call of Duty, and the boost jump adds a 90 or so degree arc of engagement vertically. For a console shooter it's just too much.

The dash ability is something I want to see in more shooters, though. Being able to dash backwards and sideways really helps player survivability, and adds a lot of skilled play to Call of Duty. You can dash out of a doorway, dash to avoid gunfire, dash into cover, all whilst keeping an eye on your target. It doesn't even really need a robot suit explanation; Dying Light implements it well, for instance.

Treyarch is the best COD dev, can i get an amen?

Until they release BO3 lol

I can already see the complaining miles away. And im not on the hype train either. If i want titanfall gameplay, im going to play titanfall.

Uhm what exactly is awesome about a "out of jail" card in your pocket? Thruster crap has to die too... Halo 5 has this issue too.

It isn't an "out of jail" card per se, what it does is allow you to move in and out of danger quickly while staying in a battle. The alternative is turning away from your opponent, and sprinting in a direction. What this means is that in any confrontation (once the shooting has begun) you'll usually accept that you'll either kill your opponent, or die, rather than the alternative option of moving to a better vantage point. You stand your ground, they stand their ground, and whoever is positioned better with regards to their weapon wins.

The dash just enables another tactical option that allows you to survive longer if you are skilled in its use. "They're going to kill me, I'll dash quickly behind this car/wall" vs. "I've lost this firefight". It also helps for someone getting the drop on you, and you realizing that, but not being in a position to start a firefight (like "There's someone behind me, I better dash left quickly" vs. "I guess I have to turn around with 2 bullets already in me and hope I win"). It all happens really quickly, but you'll have those kinds of experiences in Advanced Warfare

I only have one question:

-DEDICATED SERVERS
yes or no?
and I dont want to see a "well yes", like it was last time. enough bullshit!
activision you aint getting even a cent more from me on whatever COD you make,
until my demand is met. cheap bastard!

Going by Treyarch's track record, I'm gonna say it'll be the same matchmaking dedicated server system in Black Ops 2. Let's hope it isn't bullshit system used in Advanced Warfare and Ghosts the shitty hybrid-servers.

If anyone would make the effort it would be Treyarch.

They attempted 4-player split-screen on last-gen for zombies (that's insane), just because they knew it would be something people would want. They really put the effort in.

Praying for it, 4 player splitscreen zombies is all I want

"Ha, yeah! TOOOOOTALLY dedicated servers! So tell your fans and friends!"

* Not actual "Dedicated" servers

I would say that Trey has put out more CODs that I have consistently enjoyed, including COD3 and World at War. I didn't particularly enjoy the multiplayer functions for WaW or Blops2, but overall quality for gameplay, single player, zombies, etc, makes them awesome.

Black Ops 1 is still my fav from them. Feels like COD4 with their own twist. The last great COD IMO.

True, they've made billions with every release of Call of Duty, they have NO excuse to why they still don't have dedicated servers. Hell, I stopped buying NBA 2KBasketball games for that very reason. I'm hoping Black Ops 3 be more like the 1st one, and less like the 2nd one.....I fuckin hated the 2nd one.

Great point. I played the Xbox one version and it felt like crap (after playing on the PC with proper controls for months). I can understand distaste for it, if you only play COD on consoles.

It would make the experience so much better. That's part of the reason why I love it on PC.

I connect to a UK dedicated server like 98% of the time. Sometimes they are OK sometimes it's still rubbish.

Get your hopes down now. It's not going to have dedicated servers. Even if Treyarch or Activision mention dedicated servers, just assume they are lying (or stretching the truth a lot).

IE cramming so many instances on each server that its just as bad as peer to peer. This is why I dont own anything after blops 1. I cant set my rates, snaps, or anything.

Feel like this COD gonna get crazy numbers.

I know Black Ops 2 multiplayer numbers are still high as shit for a game that came out in 2012.

Ghosts actually had really high numbers for the first few months. Obviously it didn't hold up. I know I went back to MW3/BO2 because I couldn't stand the maps or TTK in Ghosts. I can only assume that's why other people went back.

You still have not provided proof for your widespread claims. It may be YOUR opinion. Have you played Domination before? In EVERY COD, Domination is a killstreak fest. People routinely play that gamemode to increase their K/D by hanging back and do not play objective at all. I don't see the AW Domination mode being any different to every other COD. Now I do see a huge difference in killstreak application in AW compared to the other COD's in the other more normal gametypes, where they have less of a profound impact and are less frequent.

That is simply untrue. Advanced Warfare is unique in that Domination rewards you the same amount of points for a kill as does Team Deathmatch. Domination's point structure is catered to killstreaks. 200 points for initial capture instead of 50, 50 points for neutralization instead of 25, 100 points for kills instead of 25, etc. Black Ops 2 did the Domination point system right.

If they're going full on Titanfall with the movement, IMO they absolutely have to start offering dedicated servers, maybe not for BO3 but eventually. If not.. lol, Titanfall2 and future CoD will be basically the same game (minus titans... unless CoD does something similar) and have a similar player base unlike CoD and BF whos playerbase are different due to them being completely different games, if one game offers dedi's and the other doesn't, people will just play TF over CoD since they're already similar and TF will offer the best online experience.

Hell, as it is Titanfall already does movement a hell of a lot better than CoD.. I know i'll be playing Titanfall2 more than whatever CoD comes out that year, and if the game is packed with content that is comparable with CoD(which is pretty much guaranteed at this point I'd say) and CoD doesn't have dedi's I expect a lot of others to do the same aswell... Not to mention, map packs will probably be free for TF2 too which will be the cherry on top.

I don't mean to turn this into a Titanfall vs CoD discussion but CoD is going to have a strong competition to compete against whenever Titanfall sequels come out since it seems they're going to fix all the "problems" the first game had, if their games are still going to be a lag fest people will just switch and probably not bother going back.

I will give this a look if it is true.

I will give it even more of a look if they slow the TTK and actually practice good map design.

The three route shit they have been pushing because of what some MLG scrubs said helps no one.

Good thing you don't design the maps ghosts got rid of the 3 lanes and look how awful that game turned out.

I hope it gets a Wii U version. Black Ops II was great, even if Ghosts and Advanced Warfare were stupid.

More than likely, it's happening.

Treyarch has always shown unwavering support for Nintendo platforms and considering the game is cross-generational, they'll already be downporting it to accommodate last generation hardware so a port to the Wii U wouldn't be too much of a burden.

I haven't played it yet, but the vertical boosting in Advanced Warfare seems like it'd completely kill the use of prone.

I'm not sure why this matters to you, but the last three games had dedicated servers, it's a safe bet the next one will too.

Treyarch always make the best PC version of CoD, and I've played every CoD on PC but I plan to get it for PS4 this year if I get the console like I'm planning to. Aiming with my thumbs will take some getting used to.

Still waiting on a full COD game dedicated to the Vietnam War....Heck...I just wish any decent studio will step up to the plate and go all out with a kick ass Nam shooter with a 60's classic rock music score and all the bells and whistles visually.

Well you will have to suck it up and join the rest of us on the dwindling playerbase of blops 1 because thats the most 'in da nang' were gonna get.

Dedicated servers will help avoid host advantage but it won't fix bad net code. Its
Not the cure all some of you think it is. Many games on the 360 and PS3 played fine without dedicated servers.
