Put the pitchforks down, guys. The 2500 coin payout for beating the boss might be a "first time only" kind of thing. He poster might have just confused it for the patch.
Here is what I think now. The game has more modifiers than it shows. You can tell that because I just did a 4 hit combo and got 15 koins! and then in another battle against someone else got 4.
So the patch comes out and it does change some modifiers, for reasons I can't tell. And that resulted in very odd koin payouts for anyone accustomed to the original payouts? Strangely I first heard about this right before a streamer got kicked of Twitch when he was bitching.
But oddly even in my current patched game I am getting weirdness from time to time.
Or the entire thing is a bug.
Microtranactions and preorder bullshit don't make the game rushed. You would think MKX would be the biggest and greatest MK. Seems like they rushed it out for the gen cycle.

Ok my pre-patch data says in Story mode it is 500 koin per match, 1500 per boss, and 2500 per final boss.

I have the game patched, but have only done tower fights. Want me to do a story fight right quick.
On it.. going to skip what i can. One sec.Do it!

Pre-patch has diminishing returns as well. 75 koins for a repeated battle. Now to back-up the save...Don't forget to delete your save prior to testing. (back it up and copy it over afterwards so you don't permanently lose progress)
In case there is diminishing returns on koins for repeated matches.
Been playing it today, all post-patch, and I've been getting 500ish koins on a regular fight in story mode and the last fight in a chapter is 1500+ koins IF I win the first time. If I lose the fight and continue the amount is drastically smaller for that particular match. I believe there may be a small bonus for streaks. My best win streak was eight fights and I think it was going up a little bit with each one.
So, not sure if the amount being smaller when you continue is what was affected but I'm getting the "pre-patch" payout. Are we sure this isn't someone going nuts thinking the amount was changed by the patch and instead they're simply losing more often and noticing now that they're not getting as many koins? I noticed on a match that I had to continue I get closer to around 100 koins for comparison.
Jim Sterling has been warning people against Warner for a while now, guess its becoming more obvious now
This sounds like diminishing returns.
Doing the same thing over and over will net smaller rewards, It seems.
This isn't anything unusual.
Of course I'll wait and see what other people say as well.
Same thing, the reward actually went up 5 koins post patch.OK. 2 things.
1. I suck with Johnny Cage.
2. I got 505 Koins for the fight (Minus the other small bonuses)
Same thing, the reward actually went up 5 koins post patch.
Tower reward is also 105 now.
My guess is the patch fixed the issue where 2500 end boss glitch worked.
Big oops for reaching a conclusion too soon.
The micro-transactions aren't a big deal, but I already spoke my piece in the other thread. Along with the "3 hour game" remark, I doubt he appreciated you reducing the game down to that.
If this ruckus about the patch turns out to be misinformation, then it's also something that I would be upset at people condemning me.
I mean, you're implicating that it's a cashgrab in front of the creator's face. It's a low accusation, and blocking people that are just out there to spew comments like this isn't out of order. Besides, he un-blocked you. That speaks to his character, and you can't deny he loves this franchise and his fans.
Well the Reddit post is right about one thing, the patch did make the AI more aggressive. Sub-Zero managed a win against me.Now all we need is some kind of guide explaining all the hidden modifiers and the world will be right again. Well as right as Press Y to Goro allows

Delete the patch, grind offline, get patch once you're done grinding.
With all do respect though. Those were my feeling and opinions on the game. I was planning on avoiding it completely, until it became a bargain bin game. However, thanks to target I got it for 45 along with their deal. I started the story at 11:45 am pst. I finished the story mode at 2:20 pm right before work. Difficulty was on normal. Did I enjoy the story? yes I did. Did I like the length? not at the least bit. I wanted it as long as MK9 and injustice. Do I feel like it's a cash grab? To an extent yes I do with my own experiences and what others are saying. Those are my opinions though. Could my opinion be wrong? Absolutely, however it is my opinion.
I just was voicing my opinion on the matter on Twitter. Will I replay the story again? Absolutely on a harder difficulty.
I love the fact he loves his fans and actually loves the game too, but I'm just feeling that this game has the story mode tack on towards the end of development while the soul focus is on the multiplayer and extra content.
It's a fighting game, therefore, it inherently is multiplayer-focused. No other fighting game I've played dedicates this much effort into the single-player aspects. They decided to build a more competent fighter overall, and either didn't have as much time/resources to dedicate to the single-player, or decided it met their expectations. Probably both. Whatever their reasoning, when you consider the game as a whole, it is by no means a "3 hour game".
You should also note that if you feel wronged somehow, you shouldn't get antagonistic towards someone you want answers from. They likely won't respond well. Boon listens to his fans, and would probably reply if you didn't come at him so harshly.
Also keeping in mind that the story mode in this one, is the result of complaints over the previous ones. It's a fighting game, therefore, it inherently is multiplayer-focused. Gotta love how people immediately jump to conclusions, assume the worst and start blasting Netherrealm before any sort of verification.
Is this is what the casual gaming revolution and micro-transactions have done to us?
It is also to note that the koins mentioned are just for winning the fight the first time around with no retries. You get less koins winning with a retry.Keeping in mind that you can skip fights too, so doing that won't earn you anything. So it was done I guess so that people didn't grinded around that (you can also skip cutscenes).
