Btw is it just me or Nintendo's DL revenues from this past quarter (Jan - March 2015) were about the same as the holiday quarter (Oct - Dec 2014)?

Any date for 3D Thunder Blade ?
Next week.

Sega seems to release their 3D Classics in the middle of the month, either on the 2nd or 3rd Thursday of the month. So based on previous release dates, I would guess for the next three games....

July 16: Streets of Rage 2
August 13: Gunstar Heroes
September 17: Sonic 2

& just for comparison's sake:

January 15: After Burner II
February 12: Fantasy Zone
March 12: Out Run
April 16: Fantasy Zone II

I bought the first when it was on sale. I have yet to play it. I didn't realize it's episodic.

It's a full-on sequel. That's just how they named it.

Yeah, it probably wasn't a good idea given the usual implications of "episodes" in gaming. Circle should just call it The Legend of Dark Witch 2 when they inevitably get their hands on it.

Booted up the Legend of Dark Witch demo & this was the first thing that appeared:

This is the demo for "The Legend of Dark Witch". This demo concludes partway into the story.

Save data from the demo can be "transferred" to the full game upon purchasing it, loading it once, and then loading the demo once again.

Please be aware that save data from the demo can't be "transferred" if you run out of uses for the demo.
Not sure why "transferred" is in quotes, but yay for a demo that carries your save data to the full game.

A bit off topic, but it's the thread about digital titles, so I think it's fine here.

So, if you don't know, each two months I post the eShop Charts threads, where usually twice / thrice a week, posters like me and the same tolkir who cures these Nintendo Download threads post their own country / region eShop Charts. Once in a while (originally, once every two weeks, but it's been quite some time since the last one posted XD ), we post All-Time Charts too. Thanks to these threads, we can see how titles are performing, specific trends, and, whenever digital numbers are released, it gives perspective to the charts themselves. And, thus, it can sparkle intersting discussions.

Now, the poster who used to post US specific charts recently had said he can't do it anymore, for personal reasons.
So...whoever feels he can do it and he has enough time to spend on it (it's a few minutes overall per week...but those 3DS charts sure don't make looking for reviews / discounts easy >_> ), feel free to accept to take his place.

Here's the most recent eShop Charts thread, btw

See you there too! /end OT

JESUS, the demo for Legend of Dark Witch was going just fine (Oh hey, a platformer with a Gradius-style power up system, I can dig that), but then I reached the boss which is just much harder than it should be because of the stupid "surround the character with spikes but jump between the space but holy crap there's barely any space to jump" crap.

Edit: Uh, I just ran into a glitch where I'm on the stage select, but the game things the boss is still attacking. So I'm hearing the sound effects, seeing the attacks when I go to the skills screen, but the boss is a bunch of lines

Yeah, didn't notice earlier, but...their Q4 DL revenues trumps those from Q1, Q2, and they're around Q3 ones. As said by tolkir, it's possible Pokémon Shuffle had a role in this...I don't see what else could've been a factor between January and March, othe-oh, right, Zelda and Monster Hunter.

I honestly wouldn't call it "nobody" cares about Splatoon. It was honestly trending worldwide on twitter for about 1-2 hours. So it's "somebody" at least :p.

Right, of course it trended on twitter because many of those people are Nintendo fans and gamers, not fence sitters or mainstream type customers who still don't have a Wii U who probably "don't care or know" that NOA does tweets and Directs.

Save states should help mitigate it a bit at least. Game's still worth a buy imo.
Thanks, I'm still considering it.

[quot=]Given the game was ESRB rated almost a year ago probably not. SNES games will still release, but those games were decided a long time ago and no additional ones are being licensed now.

Maybe on NXVC we'll finally see Pocky & Rocky and Lufia II...

Yeah, that's probably why. :/ I don't care if NX is BC at this point because the way things have been handled either way I'll be keeping my Wii U on my shelf next gen for all of my VC games.

Given how long it apparently takes games to get through the queue, I can definitely see why they might want to prioritize N64, GBA, and DS right now. With how slow the games are releasing right now, they need to be careful at prioritizing things, and it definitely seems like getting a decent amount of N64, GBA, and DS games up is the priority right now. Assuming that they don't have to reset VC again, we'll probably get to a point next gen where they have most major games up on VC, and they'll start looking to get more niche or special case games up.

That said, none of this would be an issue if they gave us more than one game a week.

Got Pullblox and Zelda's Awakening with my (and my cousin's) Nintendo Points. I've been playing Pullblox and have been enjoying it greatly.

Also, yay, I'm back from the ban

I don't think so. They both have demos, they're both okay. I own'em both, never played them outside the first few times. They're both pretty meh, but the demos give you a good idea.

Btw, was the fact that Swords & Soldiers 2 releases 5/21 for $20 known?

Also SteamWorld Dig is 50% off on Wii U /3DS starting this weekend until 5/21.

Has anyone played Falling Skies? I know it's supposed to be a less than stellar XCOM clone, but is it worth $5? I've considered the Xbox 360 retail version in the past at around $20 but never pulled the trigger, 5 bucks seems like a no brainer though.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat for a fiver if they offered that sale in EU :(

You have a point there. No b/c, NX will not be a secondary console to own since Nintendo love day one game prices and storage space might be scarce since they might stick to SSD, probably 64GB...

Megaman Battle Network 3 is releasing on the Virtual Console!?

You all have to buy it as it was crafted by god himself. It's simply amazing. One of my favourite games of all time. Just try it.

Now if only it could support online play.

Which is the better version of BN3?
They're pretty equal, but Blue has the FolderBack chip, which makes all your used chips available again, including the FolderBack chip itself. So you will have unlimited chips which is really overpowered and can make some tough boss fights easier. (White got NaviRecycle which is total garbage in comparison)

Looks like some stuff is coalescing for the next few weeks for NA.

5/12 - 5/14: Attack on Titan (3DS), Ultratron (Wii U), Funk of Titans, Nihilumbra, Mega Man Battle Network Blue/White and 3D Thunder Blade II

Week of the 21st: Mega Man Zero 2, Swords and Soldiers II, Puzzle and Dragons

Week of the 28th: MMBN4, Splatoon

I got White back in the day so I'm partial to it but yeah the FolderBack chip in Blue is really good if you want to do some challenging battles after the final boss. The differences are generally minor (one exclusive Style for each version, a different Navi you can fight at some point, some different colours for various items in the real world, etc.).

Splatoon's motion controls felt gimmicky

They are certainly proving divisive. I think they definitely help with fine aiming, but they're going to take some getting used to.

Oddly enough, on the first of the two sessions I played I did better. During the second session, my coordination just went completely out of the window.

I need help with a decision. Should I buy Azure Striker Gunvolt and grab an download code for Mighty Gunvolt or should I get Excave II?

Could you use words that mean something? Gimmicky makes no sense. Say you didn't like them, that's fine. But they're most certainly not gimmicky since gyro aiming has been a common, established and proven practice for years.

I have some eShop credit, and I'm agonizing over what to spend it on.

I'm toying with the idea of getting SSB Wii U, but I've never really played a Smash Bros game before. I think I might have tried the Wii one briefly back in the day, but never really clicked. Watching videos about it get me interested, and I've been playing the 3DS demo, which seems fun, but it doesn't give you enough to get a feel for it. Even the options menu is locked! It would be only single player for me.

It seems to be one of the few games on the eShop that I can't get a cheaper used copy of locally (along with Toad and Kirby). I resent paying more for a digital copy of a game, so I've pretty much written off getting other eShop games.

Right now I only have MK8, Mario 3DW, Zombi U and Deus Ex, so SSB is very different at least.

Decisions, decisions...

Unless you're in it for the multiplayer or "Nintendo museum" aspects of it, you should stay away from Smash, honestly. I buy Smash for the museum aspects and not much else. You should instead show Affordable Space Adventures some love. The latest greatest Wii U showpiece game!

Yeah I played the PS3 version. It is simpler and easier than XCOM. Not bad if this is your type of game.

Yay! We moved VT --> ATL and it's awesome so far. Got internet set up this morning. :)

Been playing Kirby: Triple Deluxe in the meantime to get the sunstones and keychains I missed and it's super fun as ever.

Hoping for some great gaming experiences and deals in ATL, not to mention the driving distance to the future Nintendo Land in Orlando :D

Yeah, I've heard good things about asa. Must check it out.

The Nintendo museum thing might appeal to my OCD side. For example, playing Mario Kart, I'm not allowing myself to advance in class until I get three stars on every cup in the previous class. I dunno! :p

Save it for Splatoon!

That or buy some indies like Shovel Knight!

Based on the demo yesterday, I've already ordered Splatoon. It was love at first splat!

I've already got most of the cross-platform indies on other platforms.

At the moment, I'm leaning towards either:

A) SSB
Or
B) MK8 Dlc & Bayonetta
Or
C) Something on 3DS instead

I've played the SSB demo on 3DS a few more times now and I'm getting fixated on it!

If I can't decide, there's a few 3DS games on my wishlist, such as Fantasy Life, Animal Crossing, etc, but I have a copy of Xenoblade in the post, so I doubt anything else on 3DS will get look-in for a while.

I think I'm going to do some more research. It's a shame there are so few demos. There are a few games that look interesting, but not enough for me to risk.

Just note that you'd have to play Smash a lot to unlock all the things in the "museum" (trophies, music, stages, characters, etc) :)

Characters & stages aren't too bad (I'd say the easiest out of all the games, especially compared to Melee), but yes, some of the trophies (there's 700+) & music take quite some time/skill to unlock. But then again, I don't mind since it adds replay value for me.

Smash Wii U is a great single player game.
