This is an interesting idea they've come up with.

Welcome to the pilot for a possible new thing we do on Retsupurae. Basically, we stream and allow people to promote their LPs. We do a combination Retsupurae/honest assessment and tell them if they passed/failed, or whatever.

We're ironing out some kinks (it's hard to control audio live, so I was low) still, but if this is worth exploring, we'd be happy to do more of it.

Can I just say I'm so happy Chip and Ironicus are doing Mega Man Legends? C&I let's playing something from my childhood I never properly revisited is like peanut butter and jelly.

But really, Chipcheezum is basically the gold standard of LPs these days and there's hardly a video of his I didn't love.

Same here.

They haven't really done much in the way of LPs in general in a long time, too. I wonder why? Maybe they got tired of putting up with their "fan base", that seemed like a thing that was happening (but I probably shouldn't make too many assumptions like that).

Yeah, they mostly do streams lately. Even Supergreatfriend's taken to doing that, too.

I kinda think KFJ got so sick and tired of FFXIII-2 by the end that I'm not sure if he'll care enough to blind-LP Lightning Returns. That'd be a weird game to blindly run since almost everything in that game is time-sensitive and you level up by doing time-sensitive sidequests. But who knows?

Sorry about not updating the thread in a while. I got real busy and stopped posting on GAF much. I should probably revamp the OP since everything in it is incredibly outdated and a lot of people moved on to other games.

So, there is a Sonic Lost World LP going on! But it's not being done by Pokecapn. It's being done by RunButton, the guys who are doing 30 Years of Mario and the 20 Years of Sonic series.

I am exhausted since I just got back after being away all weekend. Will update the thread with SGF's playthrough of Virtue's Last Reward, update the Chip/Ironicus playthroughs with Mega Man Legends / Uncharted 3, and any other suggestions that people have in the meantime much later. I'm always open to suggestions so I certainly don't mind keeping tabs on stuff!

I'm not gonna lie. I am a little disappointed that Pokecapn and co aren't doing this one. I would've loved to hear what they thought about it as they played through it.

...unless this leads into them doing Lightning Returns, then I dunno. lol. (probably not)

I wish they'd do FFCC, though. They have the setup to do it. Don't know if they have the motivation/time.

I still need to finish the FF XIII-2 play through though. I wish they did a play through of the first FF XIII also.

I've been watching the Shadow of Destiny stuff because I'd played both the PSP and PS2 versions of it, and it's... more... interesting than I remembered it being, lol.

I'm happy they're watching Phantasmagoria, though. That game is bananas and a half, lol.

I loved RP's Shadow of Destiny videos. TRAG was pretty fun as well. I'm not sure how I feel about the kickstarter series yet but I'd probably prefer them returning to dissing bad LPs instead. The Gamingo one was the first in so long.

I just find it hilarious that while I platinumed this game and found ways to break it, I'm surprised that I didn't know about some of these camera / NPC flubs that the game's making already. I mean, NPCs do stupid stuff all the time. Look at FF13-2's NPCs that constantly fell down, but man...

I'll tell you that it's not a fun game to play, either. A lot of it is kinda easy like perfect guarding and the quests are all MMO-calibre. Then later, you can eventually break the game since it's just as broken as FF8 at some points. I ended up getting 0 damage from some bosses and chuckling a bit because I saw some people and importers saying said bosses were hard. And Lightning moves like 2 steps in-battle when your jamming all the way in one direction with the L-stick. It's absurd.

It doesn't help that Lightning and Hope are emotionless so their banter isn't as fun as Noel and Serah's were since those two actually had chemistry. That said, it gets more eventful later. If they ever get to that point, there's a part that plays Crazy Chocobo during a boss fight which is... neat.

Honestly, out of the three, I felt like FF13 was the best one. FF13-2 was messy, but Lightning Returns really didn't seem like it knew what it wanted to be at all. Weird design everywhere.

Lightning Returns: Part 5 - Chronostasis

It's kinda different watching someone go through this game than go through it yourself, because wow, it really isn't a fun game to watch. If you stick to one town, for a few in-game days, it gets really boring since you aren't constantly doing something. In that sense, what I'd said a few months ago when I platinumed the game is true: the game spends and extraordinary amount of time wasting the player's time. Especially towards the end when you finish most of the stuff in the game so you can only resort to sleeping at inns since you only get stat increases from quests. So zzzzz.

Someone on YT said the corridors are like N64-quality, and I think Luxerion is the worst-looking place in the entire game. Nevermind the frame drops you get in the Wildlands, but man. Snow's town is a huge far-cry from that.

Starting with: if you want to point out other good video LPs, you're always welcome to do so. I know OMG Aero wanted to do that at some point again.

And people were wondering why I thought the game structure and sidequests were stupid. It does kinda suck that they're not going to other areas, but the game didn't really explicitly tell them that they could.

What I did in both of my playthroughs was: do the first two missions in BoringDrabTown, take the train to 20fps Field and do some quests there, get some stuff in DesertLand a few hours later and continue with Field/DesertLand with a sprinkle of Snow's Party Town for the next few days. Snow's Party Town's last few quests are designed to be done within a single night, so... yeah.

I'm going to guess, by what other people watching this have told me, is that the game seems aimless. And I'd kinda agree with that. This game has no middle ground.

I really enjoyed the Sonic 06 playthrough, and God Hand. Nice time wasters. I'll try FFXIII-2 next.

Is Pokecapn still doing LP's? Thought I'd ask since I feel like I haven't seen anything new posted on his YouTube channel in forever. His LPs were what got me into the idea of LPs in general.
