Major outage in the Bay Area affecting almost everyone I know.

Can't even get these fuckers on the phone-when I plug in my account number a recording tells you "we cannot help you at this time" and hangs up. Also if I try to connect to their support chat on my phone it never connects.

Anyways I changed the default DNS settings on my Devices to Googles public DNS at 8.8.8.8 and that worked. If you're having problems try that.

Comcast is having a DNS problem so change your DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 (Google's DNS) and it should solved the issue.

Just made that change to my router. Thanks. Should have put their dns settings in when I bought it a few months back.

Would having a 3rd dns address set on my router that goes to google have helped or do you have to change the first and second to a working address?

I thought google or opendns was faster but I read a speed report that if your isp is comcast then it's faster with their dns.

Protip:

Change your Primary DNS Address to OpenDNS' and change your Secondary to Google's.

Primary: 208.67.222.222

Secondary: 8.8.8.8

Someone fucked up pretty bad. Been down here near Bellevue, WA since before 5pm. Seems like it's mainly bay area and greater seattle. This is not even a month after we had the huge comcast outage here in seattle in the middle of the mayweather-pacquiao fight.

My modem is DOCSIS 3.0 and I have no router so I don't think I can change my DNS server. I'm out of luck

Up in norcal and last few days it has been shit. Changed my DNS as a last resort a few hours ago on my router and this seemed to fix it for now. Lets see!

Did you change your settings on your Router or your Wii U? Try changing it on your Wii U if you only messed with your Router.

I went in and reset my (personally owned) modem to factory settings yesterday and everything worked again but no service since comcast would need to activate it. So I called comcast back and was like "hey my modem isn't broken, wanna activate it again?" As soon as they sent their magic signal, it crapped out again. They told me it might take 30 minutes to work properly... It took 45 minutes and was stupid slow. Ugh.
