So is it a bug that the merchant in the crematory outside Novigrad buys everything at such high prices? I heard people saying he buys trophies but I feel like it's a glitch, he buys every category of item for list price.

I don't think that village is stil in the game. At least I didn't yet stumble upon it.The only vaguely comparable one had the mill further away and turned 180 degrees.
It's the village of Lurtch like the post says. It's the location for this week's DLC quest.

There are slight differences, yeah, but the general layout is there.

Is there any point really in this game being open world other than having a dozen sidequests? I'm doing virtually no exploration, I'm just following the traced dots on the minimap a thousand times and occasionally stopping at question marks to see what's up.

There's no... I don't know, sense of wonder at discovering new and exotic locations or whatever like when playing Elder Scrolls or Fallout. There's no incentive, either on loot or just experience and immersion, to just wander around.

The things that makes Witcher a fun game - the writing, the combat, the unique setting - are all there and I feel that all the traveling around is just distracting me from that. I enjoyed Witcher 2's tighter pace and more straightforward level design.

I feel like there's a trend on making these huge maps, dumping icons all over them and, well, I don't think I like it.

There's a bunch of side quests that don't have question marks or notice boards associated with them. If you're not exploring you're missing out.

im crashing everytime in the cutscene several months later after
killing eredin and the tower with ciri

have some mods installed, anyone had the same?

I'm crashing like crazy pretty early on...I have EDFX and a few others installed, I can't progress as is. Considering a fresh install cuz no hope that the specific problem will be patched out.

Need help with Now or Never quest, and other two related quests.

Ive read the latter by accident starting the Now or Never quest, now when I enter Triss's house the quest starts.

I cant do other two quest that require Triss.
1. The Soldier Statuette and The Nobleman Statuette
2. Redania’s Most Wanted.

Anyone care to help

You don't need Triss for the second quest. The first one isn't a big deal to miss. Triss does some magic without even moving and it's over.

There's a possibility to do Soldier Statue quest later on, so I guess the same goes for Nobleman quest. They're nothing special really though, so I wouldn't lose sleep over them.

For getting characters like Leto and Tress to come to your aid later, are specific decisions during their quests needed?

Do I need to care about locking myself out of quests? I understand I'll lose that quest, but does it stop me from progressing or getting the platinum for example? Dinged 13 last night and just reached Novigrad.

This is the number of quests in the game, broken down into main, side quests, and by location. Spoiled in case some don't want to know

So according to the guide The Witcher 3 has 258 quests

There are 89 main quests (including secondary quests that fit with the main story, like Tower of Mice)

118 Side quests (not including secondary quests mentioned above)

26 Witcher Contracts

7 Gwent Quests

7 Treasure Hunts

11 Races and Fits of Fury quests

None of that counts for the hidden treasure or other points of interest quests

The number of side quests by location are:

White Orchard: 5
Velen: 33
Novigrad: 37
Skillege: 37
Kaer Mohren: 6

Out of those side quests, 33 don't show up on your quest log.

So with all that information that should help you determine how many quests are still available to you.

For Letho,
just make sure you kill the guys attacking him after he gets hit with the arrow and tell him to go to Kaer Mohren after he wakes up
. For Triss,
she will show up regardless of how you finish her personal quest.

I just beat the
Imlerith boss fight
on Blood & Broken Bones difficulty with my alchemy Geralt, and DAMN that was a fucking challenge despite me probably being overleveled for it

You can't poison him, you can't burn him, and those are my best sources of damage. In fact, most of the bombs are straight up useless against him, with the exception of Samum!

I mean, it's nice that for once Samum gets some genuine use, but I just do not like how Dimeritium bombs can't even slow down his teleporting. Throughout the Kaer Mohren battle, you're told to throw dimeritium bombs at portals, but now it's apparently not enough to disrupt the boss' obviously magical powers?

Btw, anyone find a decent strategy to his last phase, that doesn't require specific abilities? Or is it just a "dodge the teleport attacks in his rhythm until his overhead tires him out" kind of thing?

1. You will be able to do these, but it might not be until way, way later depending on certain choices.

2. You can do this with Yen or Triss, but make sure you keep the quest open. I finished the quest thinking I could still give the item to them (which made sense at the time), but nope.

Anyone know where I can find a +100 bag?

My encumbrance is sitting at 130 right now.

I think in the beggars king's enclave, there is a merchant there.

Oooh, I've had these in my log for the longest time but never get a dialogue option to actually talk about them. Glad to hear that.

I picked up these figurines after
Triss left (I didn't romance her)
, and I don't have any quests (Geralt just said something like "unfortunately Triss isn't here"), is it a bug ?

So, Contract: Phantom of the Trade Route is bugged for me.

Please fix this CDPR, it seems to be an issue with other people.

When I first encountered the
Royal Wyvern, I was under-leveled so I escaped. Now I'm leveled enough for it but the damn thing is stuck in the cliffside just below.
I've tried everything from bombs to saving/restarting but nothing is working. Sigh.

Nope

It's more interesting if you don't interfere

Is this the first fight or the second one? Is something gained by not helping him?

It might be, because I definitely got the quest for one even though I picked it up when she wasn't around.

It's honestly not worth worrying about though if it doesn't work out, it's basically just a quick dialogue sequence with no reward.

Trying to finished up, but I want a Masterwork of each set. These fucking dimetrium plates are hard to come by though. I don't think I'll have enough with wandering and looting random places for hours.

Yeah, I found that to be the hardest fight in the game.
Ultimately my strategy was to simply prevent him from entering his second phase - I don't know if this is easily repeatable or I just lucked out but I found that by sticking right next to him and attacking him relentlessly after his health drops to the switchover point you can prevent him from ever entering the second phase of the battle, so I just chugged potions, danced around his shield, suffered a few minor grazes and went to town.

Arrgh didn't even read the post he quoted. But yeah this was the village I was thinking about.

I'm surprised no one ever made a comparison gif.

Ehhh close enough, I'm sure someone can do a better job =P The shadows are so much harsher/lighting is so different/more trees behind you? that with the tod closer to the old gif it's too dark for much of a comparison.

I'm a little concerned about the order of the quests Get Junior and Count Reuvens Treasure.
I'm at the stage where I have to find Roche to get access to Whoreson Junior in one quest, and meeting up with Triss to rescue Dandelion in the other.
The story missions in Novigrad so far all seem to be pretty heavily linked together, so am I risking accidentally "failing" one of these quests early if I do the wrong one first?

The second one where he
throws the bombs to begin with. The whole thing is a setup to fake his death so if you jump in immediately it screws up his plan although there's something Letho overlooks that you can help with. Both ways work as far as recruiting him goes.

There's also a cheat engine camera mod that you can use to get the camera closer to Geralt for an even more accurate comparison.

I even carry around the starting armor still because it looks better than most others :p

I'd do my own GIF but I don't know shit about recording videos and converting to GIFs.

Are there any big consequences to the concluding choices of the secondary quest
Following The Thread
? Besides
Lambert being more abrasive than he already is if you choose to spare the guy
.

So if I were to pick this up on console, would I want to get the 'bone or PS4 version? I know PS4 has higher resolution but I remember hearing there was some weirdness with the patching or the framerate or something.

Goddamn, that Menge guy just won't shut the hell up. His voice drowns out anyone I'm talking to in the vicinity of him. It's irritating as all hell.

I'm a bit disappointed with the last two acts, both felt too short and rather linear. I missed having a few main quests open at the same time while having a lot of side quests to spend time on but I guess that's my fault for clearing almost all the side quests before act 2.

Amazing game though, one of the only RPGs I've ever fallen in love with.
