Have a friend I usually work with, but I welcome ideas and help! Also, who can turn down someone named Nachos?

Hence why I said I'd remove it if need be, but definitely making my interest known.

I honestly have no issues with your claim. Thankfully this event is going on now in summer, so you make the window. Well depending on what Aksys's idea of Summer is anyways lol

Id imagine Nemesis would not either considering. That and hes hardly around here anyways due to his busy schedule apart from the brief periods where he takes the time to do the updates for us all here.

So are the submissions in post #32 by Nemesis fine or just the ones in post #1? At the time I submitted for Forza Motorsport 6 it didn't have a release date but now does.

Forza Motorsport 6 by VE3TRO (5th July 2015)
Release Date: 15th September 2015

HITMAN by VE3TRO (5th July 2015)
Release Date: 8th December 2015

F1 2015 by VE3TRO (5th July 2015)
Release Date: 10th July 2015

You suck man.

Lol. If you want to help thats no problem.

Are gifs bad ideas for OT headers? I made this for the one I'm working on but it's smaller than the size I want it to be. Would I be better off just using a regular picture?

Does GAF natively support WEBM yet? I've got a batch of short clips I'm using for my Disgaea 5 OT, and I'm trying to decide whether it would be better to use GIF or WEBM for them.

The only downside to gifs is usually mobile users would have them disabled to save on data charges.

But outside of that if you are designing it for the pc users then its all good, as have seen other OTs with GIFs as their headers.

As far as I know, NeoGAF does not natively support WebM.

Speaking as someone who only goes to GAF on the computer to upload OTs, an 11MB gif would be really obnoxious to download on mobile without there being a warning in the thread title about there being an animation that big.

It'd be really nice if GAF started allowing webms natively, though, but does iOS support them yet?

The forum needs to support both Mp4/Webm if it's going to happen. That way Mp4s can be used for mobile compatible OTs and either WebMs/Mp4s for general posts. Giant gifs are just too archaic.

An 11mb gif would be kind of annoying for mobile users.

I recommend cropping it vertically but making it as wide as the rest of the OT (e.g. 1000px). From there play around with the compression settings. If you want, I could see what's possible provided you have the source file and width info.

We've got a PSN thread, but is it appropriate to have a new "PSN Support" thread or something similar? The amount of "PSN Down" threads we get is kind of stupid. I've even seen us get multiple new threads in one day. It'll do something to stop clogging the forum as well as centralize the info to make it easier to find. Any suggestions?

I personally wouldn't mind it (it's a good idea imo) but weren't master/hype threads were outlawed for being too centralized and preventing new news from being seen as easily/often?

Oh that might be. I sent a message to the mods to ask. I see the logic in them being potentially too centralized, but at the same time, letting anyone make a new thread anytime they have even a hint of a problem seems likely to continue to clog the forum. We'll see.

Yep, no go on the centralized threads. Oh well. Bear with them I guess.

Somebody work this out please.

Otherwise thread should be updated. Coming up with some wording for the one year rule soon so I can have it in the OP.

Someone should PM Interfectum and ask if he still wants to do it. If so, there you go. He claimed it first.

So I've decided to make or attempt an Economics OT as a very long term project. If anyone is willing to help along the way, that would be great.

[OT] Suicide Squad by Quick (11th June 2015)

Movie is out August 5, 2016. That's just about a year off. :p

Too early. Next thing you know no one will keep with the one year rule and start putting their name down 13, 14, 15 months in advance. Neoxon already tried awhile back.

I might put my name down when it is available. :)

Also your avatar is going to give me nightmares.

That's a bit of a stretch. I'll leave it up to Nemesis to either place my hold for Suicide Squad between now and August, or I'll just post again come August.

If you want to work together on it, I'd be up for that. No need to get aggressive on OTs.

The rule is there for a reason. There is no point in going around it and all it does is expand the timeline for when people show their interest. Staying with the rule helps keep the thread in order.

I'm not sure how you take that as being aggressive. I did give up two MCU OTs to those who wanted to do them, let someone else do the Pacific Rim OT, and will probably give up Deadpool and Rogue One as I may not have the time (I sometimes forget I have to do them).

I know you had interest in the Rogue One OT and it is yours if you still want it.

If you put your name down before I do for Suicide Squad within one year of the release date it is yours. If Nemesis wants to put you down before that it is yours.

Apologies if "aggresive" offended you, it just seemed like you wanted to slide in to grab Suicide Squad, since you added that you "may put your name down" for it in August. I'd have given it to you if you just asked.

For Star Wars: Rogue One, I had no idea you booked it since I hadn't seen the list of OTs without release dates until later on when I saw Nemesis place you on the list.

As for the rules, again, it isn't like I'm booking this months ahead of the one-year mark. It's year-and-two-weeks. If we're going by exactly 365 days, I'll respect that.

I didn't know where to ask this and I've read the TOS and searched it to death, but I can't find it, so I'll ask it here:
What do I need to do in order to create an OT?

You'd need Member status, first off. That happens once you reach a certain number of posts (I think).

After that, just book for it here.

Firstly you need to be a full member to post threads. You become a member once you post 300 posts and have had your account activated for at least 3 months.

As for the Ot guideline information, it should be in thhe OP.

On the Gaming Forum, Official Threads (designated with |OT|) serve specifically to contain the at-release and post-release discussion for a game, with the original post in the thread providing information about the game. The key word here is discussion, though. They are not intended to be marketing websites, hype-building or fellating as a result of the highs of the PR hype cycle, or all-encompassing megathreads for news.

When you create an official thread for a game, ideally after notifying the rest of the community here (especially for major releases so that you don't step on toes), you should follow these rules:

-Do not be affiliated in any way with the game in question, whether as a developer, publisher, or marketer.

-Do not exceed one post in length unless you have a very good reason to.

-Focus on presenting the facts in a clear and concise manner. You can be stylish, but avoid being bloated, in formatting or bandwidth usage.

-Avoid letting hype distort your perspective. Don't fellate the game in the thread title or otherwise, doubly so if its marketing budget is reminiscent of Apple's bank statement. It doesn't need it, and you'll come off as a viral.

-Don't post your official thread more than seven days prior to its game's release (excepting multiplayer-centric games with large-scale long-term open betas, like Dota 2, which are addressed individually). |OT|s are not for news, so they have no reason to exist while we're still in the news cycle.

-Satirical |OT|s can be acceptable, but whether you get a lock will be on a case-by-case basis.

Bear in mind, as of recently we are moving game |OT|s to the Community Forum one month post-release so that the Gaming Forum isn't clogged up and can focus on more relevant content.

Gonna try to give this one away earlier too; my idea for the MI5 OT isn't working out and there's no way it's gonna work out the way I want to, so I'll give it away.
