Sounds like we can make profiles fully public now and like followers following and friends have been grouped together

I think favorite post at this point is supposed to be the miiverse equivalent of a background, but able to be restricted to images you can normally post in miiverse.

Not sure if it's new, but I just wanted to access my User Page and got this message:

I hadn't used Miiverse for a few months, and was pleasantly surprised that I could view a list of Miiverse Communities for games I had played. When did they add that? (It was next to my Favorites)

Oh good, this thread is back.

I was wondering, had anyone else had problems with their MiiVerse activity feed? Whenever I look at it, sometimes it works fine, but sometimes there's posts from months or years ago, or it only shows posts from one person, or sometimes it's empty. But if I go directly to the profiles to my friends and the people I follow, I see new posts.

It kind of makes MiiVerse useless to me, if I can't count on having a twitter like reverse chronological stream.

Yeah it's a known issue for other people too. It's been around for a long time though, I don't know why they haven't fixed it yet.

I usually have to press refresh 3/4 times before it shows the right stuff.

It's just a new agreement that you have to agree to to get your NNID working again online. For some reason you can only view and agree on a Wii U or a 3DS.

(If you were someone who sold your consoles but still used Miiverse on a PC, you're out of luck. Seems a bit odd.)

Maybe preparations for the Miiverse Phone App that was announced at E3 2012?

Miiverse is already a phone app, much like Mario Kart TV, but in the form of a web app. You just add it to your home screen and they get special treatment, such as full screen.

Miiverse was updated yesterday. You now get a message if you have saved a screenshot and you're about to post in a community.

Like, when you access Miiverse while in-game, and that game allows screenshot, you get a message telling you you can post a screenshot. Pretty neat feature, but not mentionned anywhere.

Not sure if this is new, certainly haven't seen it before:

It looks like it shows the last comment of a popular post in the post itself.

Yep, it's definitely new. Funny, it's only for the web version... wonder why there's no patch notes :(

Updated the OP anyway!

January 22 (web version)

Undocumented change: you can now see the last comment of each post directly from the Activity Feed.

In the Activity Feed I now get posts from “Users with Similar Interests”. I don't care about them, is there a way to disable this feature?

Indeed, there's been a new update for Miiverse today.

1) the "view last comment of each post" feature is now live on all versions of Miiverse. They did tweak it a bit, as it only works within communities now, and not from the Activity Feed.
2) your Activity Feed now displays some posts by users with similar interests to yours. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to disable them for now.
3) You can see a list of recommended users by clicking here: https://miiverse.nintendo.net/recommended_users

I think it tells you when someone you are following has started following someone else. I certainly never saw it before, only the recommendations of people to follow.

Ah thanks. That's what I understood from the JP changelog, but when I checked my activity feed, there was no such thing.... guess nobody I'm following recently followed anybody, ha ha.

The activity feed should be the first thing you see on Miiverse.

With a small space for the new communities by the side

Eh they're at the point now where they're starting to add features that are somewhat frivolous (to me).

Earlier it was the users with similar interests. I really don't need to see some stranger on my feed that I don't care about.

Now they're showing who your friend became friends with. Also something I don't really care about.

I'm sure others like those though so they could at least add an option to disable them.

I'm getting a 503 Service Temporarily Unavailable error when I try to get on Miiverse, which says they're performing maintenance... anyone else seeing this?

Edit: nvm, seems to be working again...

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
I got that message as well a few minutes ago, when I tried on PC. But accessing Miiverse on 3DS was fine. Don't know about Wii U. So, maybe it's just the PC vers-

*checks his new attempt in loading Miiverse on PC*

Oh, look, now it loaded!

New update today... and guess what, looks like they finally fixed the loading of the Activity Feed! It's for all versions.

1) from now on, only the last post of each of your friends / users you follow is displayed in the Activity Feed. Makes loading slightly faster, but more importantly, no more old ass posts regurgitated anymore. I tried myself, and I only got the very latests posts.

2) now there's a link to a user's posts at the bottom of each posts in the Activity Feed.

Ah it seems like they solved one problem by creating another.

Yay that they got rid of the old posts glitch. Boo that you can only see one post per user at a time.

If a user posts more than once a day then that means I'll have to go specifically to the profile to see more. If I don't check for multiple days it's a guessing game on who only posted once and who posted multiple times.

Yep, not a fan of this at all. I have a few friends on Miiverse, but some are way more active than others. Now the active ones will be effectively "hidden" while I see old posts from other friends back in January or whatever.

About time they fixed that dumb Activity Feed glitch, but yeah, I don't like that it only shows one post from someone now. I hope they didn't make it like that on purpose.

Put me in the "Glad the Activity Feed now loads faster and without old ass posts" team~~

Seriously, one easy way to "fix" this would be to display the number of message a user has posted since the last visit next to the message. By clicking on it, you can load all their messages in the AF.

I'm glad the glitch is taken care of. That was annoying for far too long. It's too bad though that this is the solution they've chosen. I feel like it could've been done differently or at least should've added some options to personalize the Activity Feed experience.

They say that the load speed is faster this way but I don't notice any difference. Unless they're talking about on 3DS, but making Miiverse load quickly on the old 3DS' is probably a lost cause.

I am following more than a hundred players on Miiverse and I don't notice any loading speed change either on the web version.

That, plus the recent “Recommended users (that I don't care about and pollute my feed)” update are just dumb.

Just a friendly reminder to those not aware, the new Miiverse redesign went live today.

Some of the highlights are the following.

Screenshot Album is where you can store up to 100 saved screenshots from games to a private album that you have.

Communities are now split up into three categories: Play Journal Entries, Drawings, and Discussions.

Play Journal is when you take a screenshot picture and right something below. You can no longer draw pictures in conjunction with a screenshot.

Drawings is of course where you post your drawings.

Discussions is where you can talk about the game solely through text.

Other noteworthy changes are that Activity Feed is gone and you're limited to 30 posts or comments a day. :(
