Shirayuki-hime ep.7
Looks like our "Princess" has passed a test with big bro prince unknowingly. I guess from the backstory we got, he's nowhere near the big douche he comes off as. Prince Raj, on the other hand, is put in his place, yet again, by our heroine. Good episode.

Well I just finished SAO season 1.

Wow what an emotionally-gripping roller-coaster ride. I can't believe the journey this show just took me on. From Akihiko telling the players they're trapped in the SAO world, to the fights against mid bosses and dark guilds, to Kirito rescuing Asuna and reuniting his family atop the world tree. That show hit powerfully on every level.

I need some time to properly process what I've seen. My emotions are all over the place right now. I'm so glad that a love as real as Kirito and Asuna won out in the end. They deserved it.

Damn, what a show.

Hopefully next season One-Punch Man and Noragami S2 save anime.

All Noragami has to do is make a few multi-episode arcs and it's good.

One-Punch Man won't ever reach the highs of the manga in just pure drawing detail (when it gets serious), but it has a really big chance at appealing to western audiences due to it being about superheroes and not being as anime as other superhero shows. I know I'll be watching because it won't take long for the anime to pass where the translated manga is.

The moment they pass where Murata's OPM is, they should switch it to One's MSpaint art style.

Yeh MAL is shit in just about every regard but at least it's relatively good for finding information regarding recent shows.

I'm not really aware of any alternatives, especially ones that are up to date.

There are two easy information alternatives that are better than MAL and regularly updated: Wikipedia for general information, and ANN's Encyclopedia for detailed staff/cast breakdowns.

The Eccentric Family 01

The OP is pretty good. The ED is whatever.

Interesting first episode. The show looks really good with nice fluid animation, pretty backgrounds, etc. The character designs are somewhat odd, though. I don't really know what's going on, I suppose that's fine for the first episode.

I hope the next episode which looks like the introduction of all the characters will hook me.

The character designs are unusual but distinctive and memorable. I remember when the first key visual was revealed and so many people said "They've ruined Kumeta's designs! Now it's just another typical mediocre-looking P.A. Works show." But I had faith and my faith was rewarded. Its visuals are much more cinematic in construction than most TV anime. Such a treat.

The first episode does drop you down into the middle of the situation without devoting too much time to doling out exposition explaining all the characters and their relationships and backgrounds. Which I don't mind; it feels natural. The series will gradually flesh out everything, including the backstory, as it goes along. Though one thing to remember is that, no matter how human they look, the main characters are still tanuki (or tengu), and they have different societal standards and behavioral patterns than humans. That's one of the best parts of the story - that it effectively presents a parallel society of mythical creatures living alongside humans, living like humans in many respects but different in certain core aspects such that they feel familiar and alien at the same time.

Ok I'm gonna watch this bojack show.

Good man.

Don't be fooled by the uneven first episode, the show only gets better. It's a great dramedy. And when you reach S2 they really perfect the humor down.

Also if you think anime OP's are good, you haven't lived till you listen to the amazing Bojack OP. Created by the drummer from the Black Keys, and the animation that accompanies it is great.

Actually, I Am ep.7
Holy shit that "sexyness" battle between the Vampire, the loli devil principal and the she wolf for the biggest nosebleeds given to our poor MC was hilarious. She wolf wins in a route. Sooo good, lol.

to be fair i think hunter x hunter's first batch of episodes are pretty terrible and aren't indicative of what it later becomes at all

madhouse really should have tried to trim the exam arc down quite a bit

Anyone else think the second season of bojack was kinda bad? Haven't heard much talk about it.

S1 had like a 59 on metacritic, S2 has like a 90. Granted it's only taking into account like 10 over-all reviews per season, and it probably has to do with reviewers doing the first season too early and the show jumping into popularity later on, but still.

And there was discussion, in the OT There's just little to say about the show imho. It's funny, it gets real, I want more.

Frankly maybe I didn't get as depressed as with S1 as shit hit the fan so high, but S2 was arguably more consistent in the drama. And the humor was better too.

I can't say that I'm a huge fan of the Fairys Dance arc in SAO and I've mentioned before there are some elements that creep me out in it, but I don't see how it's more offensive than what I saw of Space Dandy's first episode.

I can't recall exactly - are the offensive elements of Space Dandy primarily just the existance of the Hooters-style space restaurant?

Offensiveness I feel is about context - it's one thing for a pulpy space adventure show to have sexy space babes, and it's another for whatever the fuck was going on in that Fairy Dance arc.

Shirayuki 07
Things ended well between the prince and Shirayuki in the end. I find this show to be super relaxing even when there is drama.

What does it spoil!
I mean... Sure nothing explicit but it does spoil the situation and the characters in it. This will for sure be in season 2, I'm sure there are folks here that haven't read the manga

Thought it was better as it was a far more consistent product. First show has more "Gotcha!" moments that can leave an impression but S2 picks up where S1's dark character study left off.

SAO used rape as a plot point multiple times, the worst Space Dandy did was boob jokes and that breast monster in that one bad episode

Nothing, you didn't see anything.

And Hunter X Hunter is good, but damn does it take a long time to get to that point. Dropped it 3 separate times until I got to the Yorknew arc when the series started getting great.

The start of '11 is pretty weak tbh

Man why are you all still here instead of watching Miyuki Sawashiro drink beer and eat bar food

(Crunchyroll started a simulcast for Wakako-zake out of nowhere)

Sawashiro and 2 minute shorts huh?
Guess I should be watching this

Yeah I guess I'm just mad at the fate of Vincent or I'm forgetting the bad parts of the first season but you're right in saying that the drama and jokes are better. Still a good show regardless.
