Laura Prepon could be good in it, she is a good actress and you can just dye her hair.

That's partially because she was surrounded by awesome actors who carried most of the weight in her scenes. And she had her voice dubbed/altered. And it was directed by Steven Soderbergh.
Steven Soderbergh isn't gonna be directing Captain Marvel.

Her tiny roles in expendables and furious 7 aren't much to judge by. Just playing generic badass fighter person.
Seems like this is something she'd probably be more passionate about and a way out of the ufc eventually for better things.

Gina was better in Fast & Furious 6, and she had a lot more to do. She's also been given roles where she can smile and be sly. Ronda shows up mean and that's it.
But you'd think you'd at least see a spark of talent if there was any. She's really not an actress, and that's ok. Keep hiring her for the silent fighter henchman, but don't try to make her carry a whole movie.

Granted, the bar for what you need to do in a Superhero movie to be "acceptable" isn't very high at all, and you're not going to be called upon to really dig deep all that often, but the skillset needed to be even "acceptable" seems to be far beyond her reach.
Smith's argument is almost entirely "Look at this artistic rendering. Isn't that awesome?"
The hope is that whoever is actually making the movie has somewhat elevated standards on that front.
I dunno about all that.

Captain Marvel atleast has some level of a following. Though Cyborg's "popularity" is largely from the Teen Titans cartoon, and he's not even really the draw.
cyborg is one of the main characters of 2 popular kid shows.

But isn't he the less popular of the five titans? And I think the Titans work more together. Teen Titans alone are way more popular then Captain Marvel, no doubt about it. But a solo Cyborg movie sounds like a bad idea.

only Captain Marvel I will ever acknowledge is Billy Batson. Carol is a boring character. nothing wrong with that, but she's not a lead. Vic Stone is the same, he's just there. only works in an ensemble cast (not JLA, only Titans)
