The idea of a chess game with animations awesome as that is exciting, but at the same time, I wonder if it won't get old fast. I imagine at some point I'll want to return to faster paced chess.

I believe you can turn off animations

Also this has both classic chess, and the Regicide mode, which has special abilities and action points
