I really enjoyed it a lot, you really get sucked into this and first thing in the morning I checked was how this guy is doing :D Too many other games at the moment on my table though to get lifeline 2.

Lately I tried seashine, great ftue (emerging from bubble, music, illumination around you, all feels so good) but gets stale quick, I just wanna chill in that game and enjoy the atmosphere but you gotta survive on catching little fishes (?) and so it' gets pretty hectic.

I also made a jap. apple id the other day and tried games from there, they have fun stuff really, I just checked top downloads and got a game where I am the producer of a girl band! It's part music game (like ddr, ff theather rhythm etc.) and part builder I think (the girls have their own house and you put furniture there and stuff). Also has a dress up game part (you can buy them outfits), plus on top of that it seems like you can focus on what girl will like you the most or so in regards of what you buy them (like doa xtreme beach volleyball), not sure about that though. I just wish I could understand whats goin on, the music is great if you are into bands like girls generation etc. :D

Woah, didn't except that much, thanks for the write-up!

I love Girls Generation, but I'm just too lazy to get a new account :p

Skiing Yeti Mountain got a nice update - 10 new challenge levels, and an endless skiing mode (more of a time challenge). They also lowered the gold time for level 781 to make it more achievable.

Never got too far into that game. Does it introduce new hazards as you progress?

I just completed this surpringly totally free work of art.

Took around an hour but it was absolutely awesome.
Last puzzles were simply brilliant.

Highly recommended.

(Where this came from??????)

^^^^ Looks great downloading... :D

----------------------------

I also found a game on PP that looks like it was made for me, looks like FEZ screen rotation meets a minimalist platformer with touch controls and a seamless connected huge tower labyrinth.

Looks epic to me... https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=31&v=-Fom5XpXQDI

Already out worldwide https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/forgotten-ball/id1039632140?mt=8

Looks good. Honestly too many possibly great releases tonight. Have to narrow it down to a few.

Also, I was enjoying Tile Rider until I got to a level where you are a turret and the shooting controls feel really wonky on that level. Still haven't gotten past it. The turret overheats, it seems, but even the firing controls feel off and there are a TON of enemies to destroy in a short period of time.

Might just have to play it a little more to get the hang of it.

Yeah today is going well for premium iOS releases :D

And also kind of a setback for premium releases with the whole Bioshock being pulled from the App Store. A major publisher pulling crap like that isn't going to instill confidence in premium game purchases.

So I'll just say that Simogo's SPL-T isn't as simple as it first appears...

I still don't understand the puzzle mechanic though

Yeah I feel had. What the hell am I supposed to do? The directions are horrible.

Thinking of asking for my money back. You can still do that in the AppStore can't you?

It's weird, because the people that get it say it's a really good puzzler

Look at Pocket Tactics praise:
It’s my favourite puzzle game of 2015...I can see SPL-T earning a permanent spot on my devices.
...it is the year’s most elegant puzzle game.
I'm confused, to say the least

However, I learned some stuff that hints it might be more complex than it first appears
-
Hold the logo for a few seconds = new minigame
-
According to TA forum, waiting a bit on the tutorial screens reveals text from the robot

This looks interesting

#HoPiKo has been released, 4$, no IAP, made by the guys behind ALONE... 75mb, .... https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hopiko/id969961138?mt=8

And it seems that #HoPiKo is Editors Choice...

Was pulled? Damn, that is bad. Was 18$ I believe. I finished it a long time ago on PC and didn't want to play it again so I didn't buy it. Phew. But bad for you guys :(

Actually, I didn't buy it. I just hate when this stuff happens. I mean taking an app down from being sold is one thing but to pull it even from purchase history is another.

I'd really like to know what officially determines whether an app stays in download history or not.

You've got a very small indie game like Project 83113 that is pulled but still available in history for those who bought it. I seriously doubt that Dev is paying the $99 yearly fee to keep it there.

But then you have 2K that has more than enough money to pay a small fee like that and Bioshock is taken from history?

I'm thinking more and more that it must be solely the publishers decision to keep items available for download.

The "fee" excuse doesn't make sense to me when many smaller games are still available in history.

Lifeline 2 has been very well received so far, gonna have to dip for that.

Excited to see what secrets people uncover in SPL-T

Hey guys, my friends at Prettygreat, which includes the original designer of Fruit Ninja, ave released their first game as an independant developer - Land Sliders!

screen322x572.jpeg
screen322x572.jpeg
screen322x572.jpeg

Welcome to the control revolution - slide the entire world, just like scrolling a map! Start an instant adventure across infinite levels, helping 50 unlikely heroes collect their favorite swag for high score and glory!

Cheese? Unicorns? Planets? All for the taking, with many more secrets to discover in the wild world of Land Sliders.

You can grab it on the App Store now!

So I'm warming up to SPL-T. Once you understand the puzzle mechanic, it's pretty fun and challenging

If anyone wants some guidance:
- You split the screen into blocks, alternating between horizontal and vertical splits. The game ends once you can't make any more splits
- Split blocks become point blocks when you divide an area into four or more equally-sized blocks
- These blocks are marked with a number. The number indicates how many splits are required to make the blocks disappear from the screen
- When the blocks disappear, above blocks and new blocks fall down to fill in the empty space. Clearing the screen to get new blocks is key to earn high scores

Did I fix them?

Haven't mastered iPad posting yet. And I just left the screen untouched for about five minutes on the tutorial screen.

Hopiko is really good. I definitely recommend checking it out. Tight one button controls, and it just throws new mechanics at you. The game is staged-based, and each stage is divided into 5 mini-stages. And an awesome soundtrack

Sorry to repeat myself, but it was 1 am when I first wrote the original post.

Guys, don't sit on this.
It's very short and inexplicably free (ok...it's short but I played paid shorter things and it's really damn polished) but it's a very poetic run....reminds me a mix of Tengami and a proper puzzle game (the puzzles gets better and harder in the last scenarios).

On a unrelated note....Land Sliders really clicked with me after I changed the control scheme. Super addicting so far.

It introduces just a handful, but I don't remember anything new after
reindeer
, which show up in the first 1/3rd of the game. I just really got hooked on the core skiing mechanic, and the slow drip story.

OK, Land Sliders is REALLY REALLY addicting.
Super cute, fast and SO FREAKING FUN.
You keep unlocking things and the 'just one more game' factor is out of the roof.

Also, I *LOVE* they put some kind of puzzles scattered around the levels (I've yet to solve one...but I already found 3 different ones).

Super recommended.

Congrats to PrettyGreat....game is really...well....pretty great.

You can still request a refund easily, and I don't see why Apple wouldn't grant it given they are mostly no questions asked.

For example, we've had at least one instance of a person successfully requesting a refund 2 years after we pulled down Birdstrike (we didn't even pull it right down like in this case).

Do you think it is safe to install games from Chinese developers right now? Just read that it isn't just 39 apps infected with XCodeGhost, it is at least 4000, AND that there was a compromised version of Unity out there in the wild as well.

Well...you do have a point...I din't even checked but I assumed, as the scandal is one old week that Apple, as I read, already removed all the infected apps (and mostly they were only in the chinese App Store, very few made it worldwide).

I'm still alive anyway :)

OK, so you can be my virus check for Lunar Flowers. :)

The story was 39 apps, limited to China a few days ago, but today I read 4000 apps, and it included English language apps that had been outsourced to China, though I haven't seen any confirmation of specific apps in the US app store. That plus the news there is an infected version of Unity suddenly made me paranoid about games from China.

Thank you! Totally clicked now. Simogo should hire you to write the explanation.

Yeah the game is pretty good fun!

Still am unsure of which games to pick up from last night. There are so many choices, but can only get a few right now.

Has anyone picked up Forgotten Ball and have some imps?

Beacon 38 trailer:

I can't resist this one. Outer Wilds is one of my favorite indie games, and this seems like it has the same concepts that made Outer Wilds so good: exploration, an unknown alien place, a focus on discovery

Reading the app page, it's a game filled with a weird and otherworldly ecosystem and the only way to survive each sector is to observe and learn how each thing behaves, how they react to you and the world

I have it. You have to climb a huge (see M_B image a few posts up) tower full of platforms and traps and reach the top. There are skins hidden throughout the level. Controls are working good right (a little bit float-y but responsive) now but I am only at the beginning dont know how tricky it will get. So far I would say its perfect they way it is. Loving it. Really like it. The way its all interconnected is very unique.

And loving HoPiKo, the definitive barrel blaster for iOS. Over the top, cheery, style all over. Adds some depth, controls are touch first then decide the direction then launch. 5 worlds with eleven levels each and 5 sub-levels per level. Its amazing.

SirVIval is a nice level based auto-runner on a horse medieval tourney style, with a IAP to make it premium. So far, fun.

Land Sliders can become addicting. Have to collect things and the sense of exploration is huge.

And still need to play Magic Floute.

I know! It's just been an insane 24 hours for announcement/releases. I wasn't expecting much this week but damn...

No kidding here....I'm about to 'unfriend' you from Twitter or I fear my 64Gb I device will be full in a hour.

So many interesting titles!!!

Beacon 38 looks SUPER INTERESTING as well, I get a CAPSULE vibe from it (CAPSULE inexplicably not on iOS).

Outer Wilds was my favorite indie game of 2013, so anything from those devs is an instant purchase for me

Beacon 38 is really cool

So the basic premise is that mankind (or at least some civilization) is dimension-hopping to find a new home. The fleet is stuck in a dimension where survival is impossible and the only way to escape is to send a small scouting ship into the titular Dimension 38 and open a path between dimensions

Each sector is a large expansive area and you need to explore it to reach the pinged wormholes. These are lightless places so the only way to see obstructions and what lurks in the darkness is by using sonar. It's a slow, exploration-heavy experience, so you cautiously fly around, revealing the environment and any dangers that might lurk there

Fuel is limited, massive predators and weird plant life thrives in the sectors, and the only way to survive is to explore and study. Different things react different to your presence, to your sonar pings, to other species

It's also a story-driven game. You're constantly getting text updates over your Comm link, and you'll find other ships and stations in the sectors, with logs to read

Visually, the game looks interesting, has a stylized aesthetic. My own gripe is that sonar effect isn't that cool; I wish it was more fluid like Dark Echo, rather than just revealing stuff near where you tap

But Beacon is definitely an interesting game. A slow, exploration-heavy experience through a weird alien world
