Apple iPhone 6S |OT|

New phone is awesome. All the 16 gig haters should realize that after cleaning up apps and deleting photos . We had almost 8 gigs free memory. Doesn't sould like much, but should be fine for my wife. So no one "died". Thanks for the support though.

Check back in a couple months like you promised. Day 1 was never the issue. By May/June she will be feeling the pain.

Arggh 3D Touch trackpad not working on GAF

And seriously, I am impressed as hell with Siri improvements. Didn't really think it would be that big a jump

Is the "Hey Siri" option a major drain on the battery? Surprised it's turned on by default

Hmm. Mine was off

I'm actually really impressed with "Hey, Siri" so far. I know it's been a pretty common feature on Android for a while now, but it's nice. I probably won't use it for a ton more than "Hey, Siri, how do I get home from here?" but that's still a nice feature.

Same. This is a gamechanger for me... being able to do Hey Siri while untethered from power, plus the voice-locking they added in iOS 9, means that Siri is instantly more useful for quick requests without compromising device access security.

On the 5s I can definitely unlock via code way faster than with a fingerprint. And that's if it actually gets the fingerprint the first time.

I'm one of those rare ones where TouchID rarely worked on the 5s. It'd work great for a day and quickly "forget" my print to the point that it couldn't recognize it at all within a couple days. I even replaced mine at the Apple Store, and they couldn't figure it out. She said she was sending it back to Apple for testing, so maybe they've improved the edge case fingerprints. So far the 6s TouchID sensor has been near-flawless. The real test will be whether it's still like this tomorrow or a week from now.

It asked me during setup if I wanted it enabled. Had to repeat several phrases. After that it has been set up.

I would imagine if I skipped that step it wouldn't be set up.

I'm curious the battery life I'll get. 6s Plus, Bluetooth always on and paired to an Apple Watch, wifi always on, hey Siri always on, airdrop always on, cellular data on for everything, background app refresh on for everything, backlight at half

3D Touch on GAF is next level

Hey Siri is awesome but I bet it's gonna drain the hell out of the battery

Ah yeah that's right I had to skip during setup

After using the plus all day I think I would have a hard time going back to the smaller screen now. Plus the battery life on this thing is crazy compared to my old 5.

I picked up my Gold 64GB iP6S+ today, it's a great phone and I'm already used to the size. The Apple store was really busy this morning so I'll be selling my iP6 on swappa..I might even sell my 2G iPad mini but I'm not sure yet. The mini is still the perfect size for reading comics/manga.

Nabbed my 6S today. Big jump up from my 5S. I'm actually ever so slightly annoyed at the fact that I can't one-hand my phone effectively anymore. Haha. Can't reach the top left icons without adjusting my hand.

So glad I didn't get the Plus. Would be way too big for me. In both use and storage (pocket, etc)

Very happy so far. And damn if the camera isn't an all star. So happy.

Thrilled too that I painlessly reserved this phone only 7 days ago and walked into the store to pick it up today.

I'm feeling the exact same way. I bought the blue silicone case from Apple and every time I try to reach to the other side of the screen it feels like the phone is gonna shoot right out of my hand. I have to reposition my hand depending on which part of the phone I need to touch. Coming from an iPhone 5 I'm missing being able to reach any part of the phone with one hand already .

The screen is amazing. I definitely noticed how much better the screen looks from the iPhone 5. I'm just wishing the iPhone 6C 4" rumors were true right about now.

Jumped from the 5S to 6S and I'm extremely happy I didn't go bigger. This size is pretty much perfect and the whole experience is amazingly fast now.

I'm going without a case and I'm worried the camera that juts out the back is going to get damaged -- is this fear unfounded??

Well that was easier than expected. Reserved a phone when they became available not knowing much about how iPhone sales in America work. Just chose AT&T because that's who I have my pay as you go thing with. Showed up expecting to have to sign a contract and whatever. Told the guy I just wanted the phone, no contract. 2 minutes later I was out the door and $819 poorer without a contract. My iPhone 5 is literally falling apart, so I'm glad it went smoothly

Yay?

Once you update your 6S to 9.1, you should be able to restore your 6's backup to it. If it's encrypted there's nothing special you need to do, it'll just prompt for the password you encrypted it with when you pick it to restore.

Thanks, yup I just had to get the beta on the new phone.

hi all,

Picked up a 6s tonight and was looking through some screens and when I went into the Wallet app, I noticed that the cards I had in there were not fitting the screen and were bleeding off the edges as if I had Zoom in or something. This is only happening in Wallet...

Any ideas?

So my phone won't download apps that were from my previous phone, what do I do? Save me Tebow!

Do you mean they're all greyed out, or look 'stuck' in dowload mode? Apple's servers are hammered right now and transfer rates are pretty bad. Took forever to download my apps, but eventually they did.

Me either. I didn't realize how many minor delays and lags I put up with on the 5S.

Getting close to the point of diminishing returns now

The 6S will become slow over time with each new ios update after Iphone7 comes out.

Not trying to be cynical, but it's just reality. By this time 2 years from now, your 6S will likely be almost as slow as your 5S is now.

Joke post? You'll get like 2 hours and I'm not exaggerating. I accidentally left Bluetooth and AirDrop on after an update (not sure why it turns those on after every update, but I digress) and I was getting 4 hours of usage. I thought my battery was on the fritz, but once I realized what was causing the drain it went back up to 6 hours. You are adding like 5 more drain sources, so 2 hours is a realistic possibility lol.

Actually not a joke post. I'm super curious

On my 5s, with a paired Watch (BTLE on), Airdrop (contacts only), cell data on, brightness about 40%, I typically got about 12-16 hours use on a full charge. That 12 if I was streaming a lot of music over cellular. Now maybe the always-on Hey Siri will be a massive drain, but I'm quite sure Apple has already tested this and felt it wouldn't significantly drain battery (and believe some tech in the 6s optimizes this). So I'd expect similar or better battery rates for the 6S/6S+.

I have all that crap on and have been getting 7 hours usage on my 6+. I use bluetooth for at least an hour every day, usually more like 1.5 hours. Tons of screen on time.

Sorry if this has already been asked. I'm new to iPhone. Are there any apps that are considered must downloads? 3D touch is really cool!

I swear they better not fucking make me wait till mid October for my 128GB when they told me they would guarantee me it would come in today.

First they tell me it's a combined shipment now they told me the 128GB is in the warehouse waiting to ship by UPS or FedEx and no new shipment number yet.

Man fuck I ordered the minute it was opened for 9/25 it's not my fault it was delayed cause of a reorder fuck up on Verizon's end. Don't give me some first come first serve shit and say you're unsure.

I mean I wouldn't have a problem or complain if I was given accurate information but I keep getting conflicting information and shafted. Tell me it's guaranteed and then it's not anymore.

I'm more frustrated because UPS teased me all day only to troll me the minute I open my package 3 minutes before they stopped delivering for the day.

Man fuck why didn't they call me earlier and confirm my shit today or yesterday so that if there was an issue I could have tried getting one from a local store this morning but that ship has sailed. Give a clear answer, don't give me some it might be here saturday, sunday, whenever shit.

I'm not even a native english speaker and it makes this harder for me dammit.

Playing with the other 6S+ to keep me from being too disappointed. Loving everything about it so far from the color to the feel to how the taptic engine is. Just wish my phone was actually here so I can do it over the weekend rather than waste more time.

I feel like I'm going to break my screen force touching everything. The initial force is fine, but the forcier force to get things to pop in seems like too much, even with sensitivity at light touch

Love my new 6S+, like it was stated before, i am jealous of all those colors available with white face. It is completely new phone because of all improvements etc but damn it, one thing why it doesnt feel new is bc its same SpaceGrey, so its identical to my 6+

I got my phone a few hours ago, and I love it! I couldn't be happier with it.

There is, however, one small annoyance that I'm hoping one of you more seasoned iPhone users can help me out with. Whenever I receive a picture message, it comes in as a Group MMS with me as the recipient.

So, in the From: box, it'll say "(333) 333-3333, John Stamos" The former being my phone number, and the latter being the sender.

Is there any way to fix that issue, without turning off group messages?
