I burned 2 discs using ImgBurn and neither will boot up. I tried one at a full speed and one 4x speed just in case but no luck. Is there another setting I'm supposed to set for burning a dreamcast disc. I know for sure my dreamcast loads cdrs because i have done it before and just tried one of them and it worked.

I don't even get that far, keep asking me to select a file, and I have the same version they say to use, other discs burn fine...

Edit: It seems I had to re download

Edit Edit: No dice, grrrrrr

Edit Edit Edit: Tried to convert to bin/cue no go, converted to iso, burnt but no worky....

And just tried a 3rd time because I read a guide that said burning at 16x was the sweet spot but still nothing. I have no problem burning and verifying the disc but the dreamcast doesn't like it.

That's especially weird because I was wondering if it was a case of only certain CD burners working...but if you've done it before with the same CD burner then who knows.

Unless there's some special way to format images that makes it more likely for a burn to succeed, and maybe the Volgarr dev didn't do that?

This is pretty amazing. I haven't had a Dreamcast for years because the two I owned over the sadly short life cycle of the console died on me... mostly PSO. No regrets.

Volgarr is an amazing game, though. It would be pretty cool to experience it on the DC.

Oh hell yes. Time to dig out my CD-Rs and hope they still work. The Dreamcast was the greatest console purchase I've ever made, bar none. Still get 2-5 awesome titles a year to this day. Crazy to think it's homebrew scene puts the much more popular PS2's to shame. Though I'll admit the OG Xbox is still the strongest homebrew box of the 4 in that era. But DC gets the best new games.

Adding the support seems to have did the trick, burninating now...

adding the .cdi support makes it a happy camper

I did the part where I had to download the dll and drop it in the installed folder just to get the discs to burn in the first place.

When i got my new computer, my dreamcast burns were not working with IMG burn. So i decided to give disc juggler a try. After many coasters and non working burns i figured out the correct settings and works like a charm every time. Load the image and then go to advanced and these are the settings: Mode: Mode 2 Block: 2352 TOC: CD-XA and make sure the TAO box is checked. That works for me. Just passing on the information.

I even tried this from one of the links but no luck either.

So weird to see this thread because I logged into Humble Bundle tonight and realized I never claimed my download of the OST for this game. Then I see this thread on the first page. Volgarr and Dreamcast? Awesome.

Dug up my old install of Alcohol 120% and burned the game with zero issues. Quickly dug out the Dreamcast and hooked it up to a CRT, and played it for maybe 15 minutes, and kept dying before the first checkpoint :3

Just doesn't want to work for me. :(
Stupid question, did you follow that IMGBurn tutorial exactly as shown (copy three files that are not just DLLs, make sure the directory is exactly as shown, make sure the exact versions specified are downloaded, etc.)?

Sweet, finally an image of the game on a CRT. Going to have to boot this up. How hard is this game really?

Yup exactly though i extremely doubt it would need the header or library files but I tried it anyways.

I think I broke my dreamcast. I tried to calibrate the laser and now it won't read any discs. Doesn't even seem to try anymore. I have had this thing since launch :(

Thankfully crisis has been adverted and I got my dreamcast reading discs again. Still no luck with all the discs I tried burning of Volgarr. Just for the hell of it I downloaded the unreleased Half Life for dreamcast and burned it to a disc and it booted up and played just fine. No idea why I can't get Volgarr to work.
