People still defend this franchise, unbelievable!

After Unity was beaten to death last year despite being pretty damn good, despite not being anywhere near as buggy as people claimed it was (most of which was based on pre day 1, un-patched versions of the game, or people playing on PC without the necessary updated GPU drivers etc.) yes there are actually some of us who will call out bullshit when it's thrown at AC.

Ubisoft made themselves and AC in particular a target because of their shitty PR boners over the last couple years. Watch Dogs downgrade. "Female character in AC? No way, that's a bad idea, we'll never do that." "Unity is 900p on PS4 for XBone parity." People love to pile on the criticism now, even if it isn't exactly true.

I'd say the series is officially dead after this one. I haven't seen any marketing whatsoever and it comes out Friday, I think Ubi knows it's dead as well.

I think Gamestop has advertised the game more than Ubisoft has honestly.

It's a Friday release in both regions, so maybe that is why it is Friday. Of course some stores got shipments Tuesday hence why you see footage all over.

Watched a video by a German games journalist about the first hour. He hates the characters and finds the story very boring. And that is someone who gave Assassin's Creed 3 and Assassin's Creed Unity a 9.0. Controls are great in his opinion.

I am expecting a range from 6 to 8 honestly.

It's great, too. Definitely the best Assassin's Creed game since the first, which was the best of the whole series before. Highly recommend it. Loved it. A+ game.

Can't claim to have played it, but did see it running at EGX and my friends and I commented then that it looked like a bag of shit. The characters looked last-gen and there were no noticeable shadows so they just didn't looked placed in the game world. Put it down to any early build, but I guess that's the game.

Regarding tw3 it's not a bad game but runs pretty poorly on ps4 there's glitches, clipping, skips, crashes, you name it....

I recommend lttp threads for honest feedback

If all true, wouldn't be surprised. They would've been deep in production of this when Unity came out; they weren't going start then and fix it in a year.

They're not going to stop after this year, maybe not even the next one. But at some point, the preorders and sales will slow to a crawl that they'd have to put a bullet in its head, or at least stop the annualization.

I wish they could stop. Not make one for next year and remake Assassin's Creed 1 with more modern mechanics for 2017. I love the setting and would love to go back, though only if it doesn't feel like the proof of concept AC1 was.

Ubisoft needs to take a breath, especially with regards to Assassin's Creed.

You have Assassin's Creed coming out every year. You've saturated the market with them and devalued the brand as a result.

As long as they keep selling (and they sell really well) this is not going to happen, the market is showing no signs of saturation or devalue.

Not expecting much from Syndicate honestly, the graphical downgrade compared to Unity is evident and it's clear there aren't significant gameplay innovations, but the hate towards the series (mostly because of market saturation and what happened last year with Unity) is palpable and that's not a good thing because it clouds judgement, just like uncontrolled hype....
It reminds me a bit of the Tomb Raider situation during the Psone and Core design days.
Hopefully Ubisoft understands that they can't afford to make safe sequels anymore, they either stop and take the time they need to innovate and reboot or the series risks obsolescence.

Yeah, GAF was going on and on praising MGSV then when they finished it, then it was "this game sucks".
I don't really trust OTs because they are not going to be critical of the game.

I will wait to hear what people say when they finish the game because it tends to be an honest opinion.

It honestly already looks better than unity truly terrible frame rate and graphical issues. But it's pretty clear Syndicate's got it's own bugs and jank. Too bad about the whole "same old boring gameplay" thing.

Seems like the essential 7/10 game. This month has been not a great one for gaming overall although Disgaea 5 and DQ Heroes were great.

Dozens of YouTube LPs and other early video impressions show what game is actually like, post-patch. No threads on GAF, nothing.

One Reddit post from account created an hour before post says game sucks, admittedly playing pre-patched version, uploads no videos as proof of impressions. Immediately posted on GAF despite Reddit posts not being threadworthy, accepted as ultimate confirmation of everyone's preconceived opinions about the game.

I got to play Far Cry series for cheap waiting for those games. The problem is there are too many games in the market honesty, so it pays to wait for games. Was not impressed with what I played of Unity (which was patched to heck), so I can wait. I mean Until Dawn is going for $40 now and it was released in August. I mostly buy niche games at launch since they take awhile to drop in price.

So, why exactly did this post get it's own thread when there were numerous people in the existing Syndicate thread refuting the poster's claims?

Let me make this as clear as possible:

Assassin's Creed Syndicate's framerate is solid. After playing the game for about 15 hours now I noticed framerate drops maybe 4 or 5 times. I didn't experience any bugs.

The game does not run any worse than any other Assassin's Creed game prior to Unity. There are the typical AC glitches of people floating a few cm over the ground here and there, the usual stuff, but nothing that hasn't been present in every other AC game and most other Open World games, too.

My only explanation for his post is that he didn't install any of the patches. The two patches he is talking about are already out and have been out for a few days now. The game this poster describes is not the game you'll be playing. Want some video footage from the patched version? Forget the fact that people on this very forum have posted positive impressions and Ubisoft's track record over the last few years in delivering quality games such as Far Cry, Assassin's Creed IV, Rayman Legends, Valiant Hearts, Trials fusion. And reviews are right majority of the time, and there are websites and people dedicated to posting technical analyses of videos games (Digital Foundry, NX Gamer) around the release.
