Oh man, I'm suddenly interested in the game now. What is wrong with me?
It's on during the segment of the campaign on the train in the second mission and the game looks so much better for it. Otherwise it's only on menus and in cutscenes. I really hate that CoD is doing this lately. Just leave the effect off entirely if you're not going to use it. It's annoying when a game gets such and immediate boost/drop in visual quality. Same about the 30fps cutscenes.
Uh, that's exactly what they do. A technical comparison. Objective! You must have missed all the times last gen where matters of even a few pixels of resolution here or there were aggressively fought over. These face-offs are supposed to be objective. They exist to be console warring fuel/filter out the membership rolls/serve as propaganda for the popcorn industry.Lol at people who are so fucking immersed in console wars that if every DF comparo isn't a full on PS4 circle jerk they start whining. DF isn't required to follow your made up strict definition of a technical comparison.
Problem is , that version will be dead and full of cheaters within a few months. They could have just presented the facts and left it at that in their conclusion... But they didn't. There just had to be a disclaimer which isn't technical in the slightest.
Where's the comment about the fact that the PC version has free multiplayer if we are going down this road?
I think that especially for cutscenes it can be jarring and defeats the seamless feeling you can create when using all real time cutscenes.hahahahaha
I ask that question to myself
Turning off effects suddenly for no reason is also something that really does not jive with me. Tomb raider doing it (presumably for performance) is also weird... for such a "filmic" game.
Battlefront on the other hand never turns that shit off.
I didn't originally think so but after playing blops 3 on ps4 I've started to think ds4 sucks. I have a chronusmax coming today so I can use xb1 lunar on ps4. Ds4 feels so much worse than the xb controller I can't even imagine people liking it more for anything other than fighting games. So, XOne controller is usually better than DS4?
"Multiplayer is the saving grace for the game on both platforms. While resolution drops below the intended 900p on Xbox One, both consoles regularly achieve a slick 60fps experience with noticeable drops limited to explosive scenes. The PS4 version comes out ahead on the basis of providing a higher resolution, but the series' fast-paced twitch shooting still works well on Xbox One. In that respect the Sony platform has an overall advantage, but if you primarily play online, the Xbox One version is a solid choice if that's the platform where your friends are. Activision's marketing priorities have changed - and PS4 also has the advantage of getting DLC content ahead of other platforms."
lol
That sentence is so out of place in that paragraph, really forced. This is like a "Participation Trophy" and a pat on the head for Xbone owners.
Thought we had seen the last of this in these DF face-offs but I guess MS money says otherwise.

DF basically said: PS4 version is better than XB1 version. However, since XB1 version is almost as good as PS4, we would recommend you to get the one your friends are into, if you care for MP.
Now... I'm struggling to see the issue here! Really!
Would they say the same with Battlefront since it's only a MP game?
They end saying positives for the worst version of the game but nothing about the pc stuff?
DF can't help themselves.Dat XFriend feel.
Digital Fuckery.

Last gen face offs between PS3 and 360 were really unpredictable. This gen seems like everything should end up running better on PS4.
Thats why the gap between both consoles are bigger this gen than the last.

Really? Because I remember it being quite one-sided for multiplat games, where the 360 was quite obviously the better version.

It's hilarious how many are getting bent out of shape by that one line.Nothing really surprising here.
Funnily enough, that's the exact same list if you replace "XB1" with "PS4" and compare to the PC version
.Sounded like they just wanted to let Xbox only owners know that their game isn't broken or anything. Can't have that though!

I enjoyed the campaign overall and some of the lighting and particle effects look incredible, but the cutscenes dipping to 30FPS, hell, some instances seemed to drop to fucking 15FPS or close to it, was extremely jarring and hard on the eyes.
How many friends are in my controller however... hmmm.

All it's saying is that if you need to play the XB1 version because that's what your friends play, don't feel too bad about it because it's still a decent version even if not as good as the PS4.

If you could play with the Wiimote, you could see the Miis inside and find out
As long as the facts are there, what is the issue with giving opinions? I don't get it.Is it DF's job to tell you how to feel? Why can't they just give the numbers and leave the editorializing out?
You want to take even comforting participation medal away from Xbox One players? You monster!!!Is it DF's job to tell you how to feel? Why can't they just give the numbers and leave the editorializing out?

Hmmm, I don't know about that, there were a LOT of really really bad PS3 ports. Much worse than anything we've seen this gen.I agree it was one-sided, 360 was lead platform and ended up with the better versions on most games. The difference between the two on the other side was not nearly as big as it is this gen.
Not seems to runs that well in the SP...
