I play Xenoblade Chronicles X atm and...

And this plays in the main hub of the game :D I really like most of the soundtrack but that one stands out for me.
So short, repetitive and horrible "lyrics" .

This is not by any means the worst I have ever heard but it's the most recent one that comes into my mind.

Honestly, I think I've liked every "bad" song I've heard from this game. I think it works as a hub/base song. I can't wait to play it but I want to finish the first Xenoblade before I start and it's a huge game.

This one had me laughing pretty hard when I first heard it. It just keeps going with this super harsh harmonica-like screech. It's terrible. It's amazing.

The worst part is that I actually really like it aside from the vocals, they ruined an amazing hub song with the UH YEAH

I don't know if I actually think it's the "worst", but in the interest of bringing something new... Grandia dungeon music is fucking unlistenable outside the context of playing the game

The real problem is that the actual music in the game is great, so the dungeons being ambient nothingness is that much worse.

The song really is, the vocals, not so much.

And I really like Sawano too, but this one was kinda ruined by the vocals. Completely unnecessary :C

Can you link the other versions?

I think the OP is misinterpreting "eccentric" for "bad".

The Xenoblade Cross OST is unorthodox but all of these "bad" tracks are highly enjoyable and add to the games atmosphere.

It's a weird game, but it thrives on being different. The cluster of unusual styles is what made Xenoblade the equivalent of crack cocaine to its first generation fans.

I think they had a completely different soundtrack for the game originally, which was heavily based on music from Sonic 1-2, but they ran into licensing issues since the original composer owns the right to that music and not Sega. This happened so late into development that they scrapped the whole soundtrack and just indiscriminately ran Sonic 3+ midis through a converter.

The latter is pretty much what most suspect happened to the Doom 32X soundtrack as well.

I prefer the music in the original Xenoblade but UH YEAH YEAH is a pretty good song and one of the best in Xenoblade X. At 1:30 it gets really memorable.

OP already had my answer. Xeno X OST is so bad, especially coming after the sublime OST that the original had.
