Devil's Third |OT| A game made of liquor with perfect bald man. He is cool.

So I keep reading that the multiplayer is awesome and I'm curious...

Does it have modes that are fun and new or is it the melee/shooting mixed together?

I'm thinking of getting it but genuinely curious about the multiplayer.

Take a look at the OP. That's what it's there for.

My copy arrives from Amazon tomorrow! Gah! Excited, and really just want to zone out and play some multiplayer.

Happy that this actually came out- there were no physical copies anywhere near my area either, on the 11/12th. Wild times!

I chose to be a mercenary once I completed the training. Jumped into a siege battle just for shits and giggles just to see what was going down and it was myself in a lobby against two other clan members. Few minutes into the game and the clan I was sent their to protect got a warning saying their base was under attack and all of a sudden three to four guys popped on my team. The other clan received a few more guys too and we had an epic assault/defend battle for a bit. The game is great man, just wish the servers were worldwide for more people.

This is going to sound dumb, but I am excited to receive my copy tomorrow. Its like been part of a exclusive restricted club.

same.
I'm pretty uninterested in the game, but I feel like I NEED to own it. fuckin Nintendo.

I feel ya. I picked up the Wii U a little late and missed out on Pikmin 3 and Lego City Undercover. I'm not paying $90+ for each of those anytime soon.

Well, that's my fill of the multiplayer for today. Got to Level 6 and almost scored first in a Deathmatch game, but the one thing I'm waiting for is for my application into a clan to get approved. Don't know how to go about building up my fortress, though I might just wait until I've got a lot more funds to make huge changes to the default layout.

In the meantime I've gone back to the campaign to try out score attack mode and pick back up any missing War Trophies. Speaking of which, I love the descriptions given to the instruments and alcohol as it pertains to Ivan. Makes me really want to get the rest.

Thought I would be done with the campaign and just ditch it for the multiplayer. But it looks like I'll be going back and forth between both quite frequently. This game keeps delivering in all its crazy, janky goodness.

Can someone check the bottom of the Drill leaderboards to give an idea of the current playerbase.
(Although many players will be on the same score, so it won't be a very accurate)

Made a new thread about the 420 copies stuff, I find it funny that a few want to buy it just because it might be rare. Nintendo gonna Nintendo.

That is just 420 for the website. Amazon putbit back up for preorder again last night with another run shipping on 20 Dec. it was up for a good while before selling out again.

I bet Nintendo will print more.

I just grabbed my copy at one of the local EB Games. It was the only one they had (and the only one they received). Looking forward to playing it!

Like they did with Pikmin 3. I don't doubt they have more in the way, but I am sure that is still the first print, and I doubt there is enough demand for them to issue a reprint. The only way they see them doing so is with a situation like Xenoblade when Gamestop themselves issued the reprint.

Why is this not $30 if they want it to die so bad? I'm really interested because these janky quirky type of games are my weakness.

Finished the campaign. Overall liked it. It def has performance issues out the ass. Also towards the end some of the ammount of the mech gating gun, axe, and chainsaw dudes was a bit much. I did like the final boss but the end was pretty much over before I knew it. I really liked the variation in levels and settings even though it stuck to the miltary theme. Impressed how much I enjoyed it even if it gets a bit repetative and it's obvious the long and troubled dev cycle didn't help.

How do you complete training? I am at level 4.

Just keep playing, it will unlock for you soon probably. I still haven't played Siege yet because I was playing it late last night so all I could find matches for was Battle Royale. I'll be playing/streaming tonight.

anyone who thinks the NA art is bad has a horrible opinion and doesn't understand schlock
I'm pretty sure anyone interested in Devil's Third has some understanding of schlock haha

I personally think it's hideous compared to the intended cover, but it definitely fits the game's will to be the coolest/toughest

I talked to Amazon customer service yesterday and they told me they're expecting new stock in 7-10 days.

They're probably still getting batches of the first print from Nintendo. They'll likely ship it in the same box with some amiibo figures to save even more money on shipping.

Normally when Amazon knows they are gonna get a shipment they allow you to put in a back order. Since they aren't doing that it tells me they placed the order and aren't certain if they'll get more, or enough to sell anymore. My June Pre-Order just shipped today from Amazon so they may still be trying to fill pre-orders also.

I'm not saying it won't restock, but even if it does I'd expect there won't be a whole lot of copies. Unless Nintendo prints more, which would be a surprise with how they've resisted other reprints, I'd say if you are wanting it and can get it, probably best to do so.

Played through the first mission a short while ago. Still far too early for me to know how I feel about the game, of course, but I will share some initial impressions.

Ivan is a ridiculous character and I like that. This is some cheesy stuff - as it should be. I'm looking forward to hearing more of his terrible one-liners.

Melee combat is decent and I found myself becoming curious about what Ivan would do with the next new weapon. That machete is right vicious. Gun combat leaves a lot to be desired, however. It's not awful, it'll suffice, but it feels sort of... empty?

Visually, the game is not breaking any ground. I did experience some performance issues when things got a bit hairy in a couple cell blocks and the framerate stuttered a bit.

(I didn't get into the multiplayer yet, though I did create my character.)

Despite the issues I experienced, I'm excited to play the game again tomorrow to see how or if the combat evolves and also to see what the heck that outrageous Ivan is going to say and do next. The last I saw, he disobeyed orders and jumped out of a plane on his own. Because hey, why not?

It's all about the multiplayer for me. It's incredible now that I understand it and am in a clan. Still haven't been able to find/do a Siege match though yet because there weren't any going on I guess. It does get super janky at times but it's still super fun.

Unsurprisingly, the more I play the multiplayer the more fun I'm having

Team deathmatch is where I think the game shines. I wasn't able to get into lobbies for it day one, but I think battle royale is a little too chaotic. I like the teamwork "I got you brah" moments that happen, like jumping in and slicing a dude your teammate has been shooting at

Everyones most likely stuck in the training drills still. I find a few siege games here and there but not too many yet. People have to start leveling up first.

I'll definitely be diving into the multiplayer once I have a little more of the campaign under my belt. I feel like the multiplayer will the part of the game that I'll spend the most time with. But first, I just gotta get through the other stuff to get a kick out of that wonderful cheese.

Screw finding a disc copy. Why not buy it digitally? The multiplayer is such a blast!

I bought it digitally but I can see why many people don't want to. Its a hefty 15gb download. Luckily I have a nice external HDD for my wiiu that I can do this but many don't .

I was all Team Deathmatch myself too, but I ended up getting some good Battle Royal matches this afternoon and even placed first in one of them, so I'm more in favor of those now. I think the chaos is more too my advantage because I can just focus on running and picking off dudes that are occupied by a melee skirmish. TDM does have it's benefits though.

Well, that and around that point I finally landed on a loadout I was comfortable with and didn't find myself eating shit due to empty clips, so that helps.

Really hoping to get in on a siege game soon. Already got accepted into a clan, so it's only a matter of time till they schedule another fortress raid.

Are they doing the 5x experience thing for individual drill modes thing for the NA version?

That seemed to shift the small PAL player base around to try the different drill modes.
