Decent week for hardware all around. Wii u is a surprise but this is the time Nintendo systems sell big so lets see how it holds after the new year. Good launch for fallout 4. I am assuming Mario maker and splatoon rise in numbers are mostly from bundles?

General christmas boost? I know Japan doesn't celebrate Christmas per se, but the gifting culture is comparable around that time for whatever reason, from what I heard!?

Wow Wii U...no new releases,and only Splatoon and Mario Maker,good lord if only they would've got a more substantial library.

WTF @Wii U. Splatoon and Mario Maker certainly have a stronger effect than I would have expected. It'll be interesting to see how it fares against PS4 in the traditionally Sony-oriented first week of 2016...

Also I'm glad to see that Mario & Luigi 5 at least could hold up over the year's end period (probably without entering the bomba bin yet?) and recovered somewhat to have sold 40-60% of its stock. Should M&L5 be lucky and still have two more strong week next weeks, it could still reach the 60-80% tier before sales wind down considerably. It's a great game, so it would certainly be well-earned.

Insane Nintendo holidays - first & third party bonanza!

MHX is holding really well, overcoming MH4G quite easily. Monster Strike debut is astonishing - put in perspective, only a few IP can open so high these days.

YWB is immortal - 2m is not out of reach at all. RT +138% lol

Disney Magic Castle also rose a lot - it won't reach 500k of the prequel, but it's going to sell extremely well.

Seeing Splatoon perform like this only further cements my feeling that Splatoon needs to be on the NX in some shape or form for launch. Preferably coupled with an anime. Splatoon on a system that actually has a decent install base or the potential to grow one could be a multi-million franchise in Japan alone.

Bundles have an effect, but they are not bundles together and they have the double of sales of wiiu hw, so its not mostly from the bundles.

Btw, very solid Holiday bump for everyone, even if I'd say that among all, the Wii U / Splatoon / SMM sales are really impressive (for what they are, of course)

3DS passes the 2 millions mark for the year, and will pass the 20 millions LTD next week (for Famitsu, of course), while it is noticable that the Wii U risks to get the 3 millions mark LTD within the end of the year (if it's true that next week's numbers will be even stronger than this week).
PS4 too passes the 2 millions LTD for Famitsu and registers a very good week, as for PSVita.

Very strong debut for Monster Strike, let's see if they will be able to sell out the entire (very significant) shipping, but this is a very good performance for a game "derived" from the mobile segment on a dedicated console device.

MHX confirms to be a success, Capcom's FY projected forecast shoud have already been met, with three months to go.

It is insane really, WiiU should have gotten a pricecut over there, it would have made Splatoon an even bigger phenomenom there. AT this point the high price of the systemn is hindering bigger success
over there imho.

So - the Wii U has a more expensive bundle on the market than last year and yet it sells more than double yoy?
That's pretty good! Sadly there are no legacy titles crawling back into the top 30 like on the 3DS like Smash or Mario Kart, but overall it looks like Nintendo did some things right this year.

How does this week compare to the other years it's been on the market? Is this it's biggest year end push yet?
