Xbox Live Countdown Sale starting December 22 - "Biggest sale ever"

Basically these sales are great if you've just got your Xbox but otherwise these dailies seem to have been on sale multiple times anyway so I'd be surprised if you had your console for 6 months and wanted these dailies but hadn't picked them up on some sale or other by now.

I... guess it's meant for people who just picked up the console for christmas and have no other alternative.

But they are competing with everyone else and with their own sales from a month or two ago otherwise. It's been a completely unremarkable sale so far. Here's to week two.

Definitely. Lost hope for dailies being worthwhile but the second weekly should be pretty good.

*sigh*

Guess I'll redeem that $25 code now to buy Storm Island and hope that something, anything that comes up in the next three months is worth my remaining $19 before it expires. "Biggest sale ever" my ass.

holy shit MS with that Sunset Overdrive price..(33€ for normal 46 for Deluxe) it's basically about double the price i'd expect it to be for the sale..

at this very moment i can get SO for 20€ (on Amazon) and that's without it being on any special sale.

This has a better conversion rate than Sunset Overdrive did. Put me in a room with the people who make these decisions.
Just buy from US store. Anyone paying in pounds or euros deserves to get ripped off. Not difficult to buy from different stores with the smallest amount of research.

18€ if you buy from US store

Ugh, I'm genuinely confused, is it worth it to buy BlOps now? It's only $10, but how active is the community? Any chance any COD is ever a GWG title?

Hoping that Divinity shows up, but I only bit on Brothers and the first episode of King's Quest so far. Nothing else has intrigued me so far.

there are still people playing all of the modern COD games. on 360, you can still easily find games from COD4 going all the way to the most modern games. Black Ops 1 is one of the most popular still, so player base is still active (except for wager matches).

Haven't bought anything for myself on this sale but I got my brother the Arkham Knight season pass, Minecraft Story Mode, Forza Horizon 2, and Storm Island.

I'm really tempted to get sunset. Put 60 dollars on my account and the only thing I was definitely going to buy was storm island. Turns out I bought that in the last sale and forgot.

I could get sunset and have 40 for the next weeklies, or should I get the deluxe... fuck.

Telltale for 36$ is STUPID food value

I paid 55 last year and no regrets.

Yup, I would recommend this to anyone interested in the TellTale games. I already own most parts of the collection so it wouldn't make much sense to get for me.

The Telltale pack has been on sale so many times already. Good value and good games, sure, but come on. Every fucking sale it's only the same games. Telltale pack. Battlefield 4. Some basketball game no one cares about. GTA5. It's getting boring.

I noticed a Devil May Cry bundle is releasing on Dec 29th on Xbox Live, so right at the start of the new weekly deals. You can bet your arse that will be discounted once it hits. So anyone looking for DMC and DMC4 remakes in 1 bundle for a decent price check back this monday night

Yes!

Totally jumping on this at a reasonable price.

Is $20 for Tales from the Borderlands good?

Oh, no way. It was $3.75 a couple weeks ago on PS4, currently <$10 on Steam, and has been $10 before on Xbox One.

Sunset Overdrive and FH2: Storm Island for me.

Still can't bring myself to bite on Transformers.

Is there another batch of weeklies going live then next week? From tomorrow? Not even sure what I'd want from that, but I'm intrigued to see what goes on sale.

Not at all. It is $8.50 on Steam, and is consistently around that price on most platforms. The only reason it is noy sub $10 right now is to make The Telltale Game Collection deal look better. Everything in that pack is consistently sub $10

Thanks for the heads up.

I've had two instances where the game hadn't autosaved and so lost about 3 hours of progress in total. After experiencing save game issues with Game Of Thrones, it's put me off Telltale games.

The story is very good but I can't be bothered going back for a third time and hoping it saves this time.

The daily 360 deals have been pretty underwhelming to say the least. "Biggest sale ever" is truly an understatement.

Yep, just for The Wolf Among Us it is.

He is talking about Tales of the Borderlands, not the Telltale Complete Pack.
Either way, I think it's worth it. I started playing it the other day and I can't stop playing it. I want to know how the story continues.

That should work, but be aware that the codes for the BC Gears games are sent via XBL messages, so you'll need to make sure to be checking those (smartglass app on your phone, Xbox app on Win10, or I think you can even check them via the website these days), and redeem the codes once they show up.

Also, just a quick heads-up, but the system is set up to automatically flag the first system you sign into as your home Xbox, which works great 99% of the time, but can cause issues in cases like yours where you've signed in to someone else's system before getting one yourself. Just make sure you set it properly when you do your initial setup on your system, otherwise you'll run into issues with auto-downloads going to the wrong place, and being unable to play games offline, etc.

Part 1) Do the codes expire? I guess that makes sense. So it'd be just like PSN, I'd play the game, get the codes, redeem the codes, and then once I have the actual system, download the games?

Part 2) Ahhhh crap. That's kinda cool but yes in this case that would be extremely annoying. But I can change it when I get my own Xbone and log in for the first time? I'd imagine there has to be a way, right? For people who need replacement systems or replace their stock console with a Special Edition or Slim...

Thanks for the reply!!

I learned long ago to avoid their games.
