Legit unsure if QUALITY or from some avant garde cut.

I thought I heard a balloon flying around, but it turns out it was just all the hype leaving the Berserk anime thread over in off-topic.

Production IG has got a new film in the works, Pigtails. It is being directed by Yoshimi Itazu, character designer of Miss Hokusai and the person who was initially picked to complete Dream Machine after Satoshi Kon's death. It's based off of a manga which won the New Artist Award of the Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize in 2014, which follows a pig-tailed girl after the March 11, 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Looks and sounds incredible, will watch this one when it comes out for sure.

I finished OPM, Subete ga F ni naru and Owarimonogatari. Liked all of them.

OPM
Mindless fun and action, interesting look at society and people as a whole.

Subete ga F ni naru
Very intriguing beginning, interesting characters and some thought provoking conversations towards the end.

Owarimonogatari
Sodachi Oikura is a fantastic new character, some remarkable episodes here and there with lots of dialogue work, basically, why I like Monogatari in the first place.

Iron Blooded Orphans has been going good too, I'm liking what I watch.

Wait until you reach the ending. Oh god that ending.

Don't even go there. I swear if this show turns out to be about how Squealer went
from minion to ruler of the world,
I'll slap all naked mole rats in their ugly faces and put them in their place to stop evolution from getting to him in the next 1000 years.

Help me here. I swear to all that is holy that the Gusion frame from IBO is a reference
,or at least a similar, to an older mech fron something besides Gundam. However, I can't remember what.

Aside from Myriad Colors Phantom World, Dagashi Kashi is the only other show ive been anticipating this coming season

This is comforting. After seeing the Working!!! finale, I really want another anime of mine to finish and give me some sense of satisfaction. The way things go in this show though, I really can't even imagine how that would be.

I played the VN demo, it's not really like Saekano, besides the full game will have game company employee route in second half, so i bet it's more close to Shirobako, though i doubt the anime will adapt second half of the game.
Also Romeo Tanaka is the script and Takahiro is the original creator, so it's fine.

Oh btw, Shirobako's Zuka-chan is heroine of this show(i mean VA), this is nice lol.

From the New World episode 22-25 Finished

Man, what a show. It's not perfect, but it's ambitious, and well thought out. Oh, and it has an ending! (Remember when anime actually had endings?)

It has a few moments where the pace drags, and the visuals go nuts, but generally the show moves at a nice pace and is easy enough on the eyes.
The music is generally mixes with scenes of happiness and sadness well, culminating in a story that knows that it has to have happy moments to balance out the sad moments.

And From the New World is a brutal story. Not overly violent or edgy, but brutal.
The Infant Immortality trope is defied rather quickly here.
The characters are likable and enjoyable to watch, but they develop fast due to how the plot unfolds. That may leave some viewers forgetting some key aspects early on, so it's important to pay attention to those early episodes.

Also the final episode is fantastic. It's great.
And that a real OH SHIT reveal there at the end. Squealer deserves a statue built of him, yeah he was a dick, but he was right.

I'd probably go to comiket even with those crowds, it's an everyday thing for me tbh.

Your response kind of depends on what kind of outlook you have but what Squeler did was definitely 'not right'.
He just represents any oppressed group that utilities even more brutal methods than their oppressors. I guess when violence is your only option for agency, you can kind of be forgiven somewhat.

Its pretty much impossible to claim if he was right or wrong. He just did the options that were available to him.

i'm really liking glitter force a lot

Af4uq1O.png

I had heard of PreCure before, including hearing things about Smile from internet osmosis. I knew the series sometimes had well choreographed and animated action moments, so I always thought that I'd give it a try if one of the series got dubbed. When all the "Gangam Girls" talks were going on, I was excited for it because of the ironic/nostalgic appeal of such a 90s style Americanized dub, and the show has that even with the less ridiculous name.

Much like when I first watched Friendship is Magic, I wasn't grabbed right away and was hesitant. But, like that show, once the initial episodes focusing on the plot give way to character stories, I was hooked. Although FiM transitions completely to a slice of life, Glitter Force still includes the prerequisite monster of the week being blown up with a stock footage beam, with all the same reused speeches from the baddies, but the real focus is on character interactions and humor, which the show does very well.

I do hope to get some of the fights I've seen on youtube (assuming they were from Smile) that had well done fighting action, however.

I watched the first episode of Smile PreCure after I watched the first episode of Glitter force, but honestly nothing jumped out at me as making the original high art in comparison. Most lines that feel like dub additions (an extra cheesy self aware joke from an offscreen character or without lip movement) are funny, even if it's for the cheese/ironic bad pun factor.

Criticisms:

  • The skipped episodes. I like the show enough that my biggest complaint is that I want more of it.
  • The anti seizure screen darkening.
  • When Glitter Sunny transforms, she says "This girl is on fire" followed by "When you mess with me, you're playing with fire". She should say "When you mess with me, you're gonna get burned" so there's move word variety. But that's only for her solo transformation which doesn't happen too often.
Kelsey > Emily > Chloe > April > Lily

I hope Saban continues with the rest of the franchise.
