Some game-changing features in this mini-expansion. So I highly recommend people jumping back in~

*TRAILER*

Greyhollow Island
The mysterious forested locale of Greyhollow Island is now open for exploration! Inhabited by new enemies and steeped in intrigue, brave the wilds and unravel the enigma behind the isle's mysterious inhabitants. Be forewarned, however; the land itself is hungry for blood.

Expanded Zones
The Sanctuary you know grows a little bit larger! Two existing zones are receiving new, fully explorable additions, featuring new bounties and events. Survive the hunting grounds of the fierce yeti in the Eternal Woods, a new branch of The Ruins of Sescheron zone. Leoric's Manor becomes a bit grander beyond the collapsed stairwell in Act I, opening up the Royal Quarters for curious treasure hunters.
Set Dungeons
Test your mettle against one of twenty four custom designed set dungeons! Each dungeon features a pre-generated, static course designed entirely around a specific class set. Don all six pieces of your chosen set and visit Leoric's Library to obtain a clue on where these hidden trials are located. Hunt down your dungeon of choice and master it to unlock exclusive cosmetic rewards for one, more, or for the truly dedicated, all of these challenges!

Empowered Rifts
Spend your gold to empower a Greater Rift, granting a fourth opportunity to upgrade a Legendary Gem. Gold costs vary based on the tier of Greater Rift level attempted, and bonus upgrades are granted only to those who complete the rift, so spend wisely!

Season Rebirth
Transition seamlessly from Season to Season with the new Season Rebirth feature! This option allows you to instantly transform a non-Seasonal hero to a fresh level 1 Season hero, maintaining their name and hours played. All gear is removed and automatically mailed to you in the non-Season, providing up to thirty days to reclaim the items at a later time. Paragon level, completed achievements, and other accomplishments also remain behind with your non-Seasonal heroes.
Revised Buff Bar
A cleaner, clearer user interface makes its way to all platforms with our revised buff bar! Static buffs have been removed from the buff bar area, replaced by new indicators and timers that have been added to the skill bar. We've also included a collapsible buff-holder, which condenses party and group buffs and can be expanded by moving your cursor over the indicator, revealing all your buffs at a moment's glance.
Action Combat
The popular console version of Action Combat makes its way to PC! Massacre, Destruction, and Trap Mastery bonuses are now granted to players who chain together death, destruction, and clever play. Earn bonus experience, a temporary boost to movement speed, or a buff to your resource generation through smart and tactical play.

When it says the action combat from the console version is in, is that just incorporation of the chains and dodging from those versions? Or is a separate version with controller support? Or something else?

I thought this was going live with the new season

It's specifically things like the bonuses for breaking a bunch of scenery in a row, instead of giving you a trivial amount of EXP, you're now awarded with a movement speed buff based on how much scenery you destroyed.

Similarly, you get resource generation gains for killing enemies with environmental damage, and killing a lot of enemies in sequence now gives a multiplier of the grand total of EXP gained from killing all of them.

I think they usually drop beforehand, which makes sense. There will be a influx of people coming for the new season, so it's good to space out a major patch.

you are absolutely correct and im an idiot for thinking otherwise. The new season is actually on a terrible day for me (january 15th is dragons dogma day and so is the following week at least, and then XCOM 2 is february 5th...), but at least I can check out the marauder changes tomorow

Too fucking good.

New zones, new enemies, new legendaries, and new static dungeons to mix things up.

I couldn't be happier with this game's support.

Do I have to restart Battle.net to trigger the patch? I left Battle.net on when I went to work this morning and I hope it downloads the new patch on the fly.

Blizzard's support for this game has been amazing. most other companies would have either charged for this or simply moved on to other projects by now.

I've started this game like 3 times on my XBO. I have yet to beat the first act. I just get distracted. Maybe now I'll start over for the last time!

How many patches do they usually do for a Diablo game?

I'm thinking about just waiting for all of them to release first at this point.

Haven't played in about 4 months.

Waiting for the new season to get back into it, can't wait. Love that they continue to support it for free.

It's been live a while here in Germany, been playing for two, downloaded five hours ago. Good changes, many tiny unannounced fixes and tweaks. Like the cube not needing you to carry the crafting materials in your pocket any more.

Diablo II was seeing new patches until 2011. That's 11 years after release, and one before Diablo III.

So, yeah. Don't wait for it to be "complete".

Wtf?!

Yea, there's no point in waiting then I suppose...

O_O"

For the most part the patches are more about tweaking the game than truly being additive. Waiting for all the patches to get a "complete" game is a waste because you'll be missing out on how the game changes.

Am I wrong that Consoles still do not have Seasons? When I read the patch was for PC and Consoles and seasons was included in the patch notes.....

Did they do anything about the inflexibility of sets now requiring in excess of of 6 slots to get running because of crazy 100% multipliers everywhere?

Shit. I'm playing other games GAF. I DO NOT need to be dragged back into this.

Looks good though. Wasn't across what they were doing at all, but sounds like some nice additions

It's been so long since I've played D3 (ie. not since RoS) that I'll need a primer of some sort. Anyone?

There's really not much to get that isn't explained in game, until maybe the end game but whatever current meta exists with optimal builds is influx with the skill changes and new gear.

Click shit, get shit to click more shit.

The only thing is if you're on PC, the new season (basically a separate mode where everyone starts from a clean state) starts on Friday where I think most people will be playing.

For someone who has played maybe 5-7 hours of Diablo 3, would you recommend that I start over? I have PS4 version, and am around Level 14.

This patch is supposed to fix hacked items on console right?

They can't fix hacked items on consoles. The PC being always online can occasionally phone home for authentication. Consoles can't do that.

Still, always nice to have an excuse to reinstall D3 and lose another 100 hours.

So much respect for Blizzard for their persistent and amazing support for the games. They could have easily just bug fix the game all the way like most other companies do before stop supporting them (apart from small free or paid dlc or expansion packs), but they didn't do that. Props to them.
