There wasn't enough anime here lately

Mangagamer has a VN licensing survey

And you can't say shit because it's relevant to the thread

Did the survey. This question bothered me a bit though:

What are the three main qualities of a visual novel that influence your decision to purchase? (Select up to 3) *
Has an anime adaptation

I mean of course its good if someone buys a VN because they watched the anime, but why not be interested in it if there wouldnt be an anime.
Thats actually one of the bigger "problems" I have with the whole scene. I am sure Sword Art Online, if it had come out 5-6 years ago as a light novel in America, it wouldnt sell well. Then the anime came out and it makes good money.
In Germany a publisher released the Gosick LNs. They sold like shit. (The CEO told me their Light novel sales were in the hundreds). When the anime aired, somehow people were mad that this title was out of print...

Same company, they use both brands these days. Not sure what the exact legal status is but Cold Steel for example mentions "licensed to XSEED Games/ Marvelous USA"

Well, I can't really say I'm all that impressed with The Division beta. Might have something to do with me not having friends to play it with but even then I'm not sure it would be all that fun.

The world looks great but it is very empty, the few missions that exist get repetitive pretty quickly. The dark zone boils down to find loot in big empty world and extract it, that's it. No events at all and hardly any pvp because nobody wants to go rogue.

I remember before Greenlight they didnt accept VNs on Steam, because they arent "games" but shitty Big Fish Games were okay.

Sony also refused to sell both physical and digital VNs for years on their platform/service. I remember Sakura Taisen PSP specifically getting rejected because "it's just a book and Americans don't read lol"

I have no idea if it's even possible to license, but I voted for Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo.

I think 5pb wants to release all of their titles without the help of any foreign company.

Voted for this:

I am joking.

I dont even get why you would wanna do it. I mean Valve takes 30% of the sales. If they sell 10, I am sure the costs of their downloadserver for that 10 copies is already paid. Never understood that.
But they also didnt want chubigans first game, so theres that...

Definitely has potential, gameplay is good and graphics are amazing but I agree with what you said. It is far to barren. I know it is supposed to be post-apocalyptic but you cant have an mmo without a lot of enemies. It would be like in WoW a quest being "go kill 10 rats" and then it taking 30 minutes to find 10 rats.

SFV won't have Dinput at launch for those of you wanting to play with a PS stick on PC. You'll end up having to use some software until it's supported in game.
