that moment in Xcom when you need to purchase an advanced interceptor but you just spent some weapon fragments on a plasma sniper rifle and you don't want to undo that choice, leaving you looking forward to a conflict because for whatever reason no one in you super duper advanced full of the greatest minds on earth base knows how to break down the dozens of spare weapons you have collecting dust.

meh.

I thought my enemy within campaign was moving real fast but i have 16 hours into it already and i only just got to the point that we've spotted the overseer ufo. Time just flies with xcom.

Also, Exalt is a bunch of jobbers. The only time they've actually been a threat was when they helped aliens raid my base, leaving my barracks barren for a few weeks. Other than that, playing carmen sandiego while trying to find them is silly, they're complete pushovers compared to some of the bullshit the aliens are pulling off

thats stupid

just try it for yourself

that's the only way you find out if u like it

No, don't.

"Try it for yourself" led me back here to bitch about it the first time around, and everyone agreed that it was crap.

You're the first person I've seen in weeks who unironically enjoys it.

Like I said, the Free Roam mod makes the DLC much more manageable without sacrificing too much of the difficulty. Otherwise, the cloud eats through your health rapidly (yes, even on Normal mode), and the annoying speakers stop being a pain.

You all talking about DSIII being this year GOTY are ignoring the true GOTY:

I'm also accepting suggestions to name the OT.

Stardew Valley |OT| "It's been 84 years"

If you're going into Dead Money, get the DM Free Roam and Gold Weight Fix mods.

Thank me later.

The gold weight fix mod completely goes against the entire point of Dead Money, though. Finding the gold isn't the hard part. It's letting go

Free Roam helps a lot, though.

Unless you want to deal with a cloud that rapidly sucks away your health or a collar that's equal parts annoying and infuriating, there is no sense dealing with the "developer's vision". Almost everyone who's played it (myself included) agrees that DM is the worst of the New Vegas DLCs, and this is coming from someone who just logged 200 hours into the game.

Honest Hearts was the worst of the lot for me, it's just so bland. DM is actually interesting and has better companions, for starters. For me, the ranking goes: OWB>DM>LR>HH.

lol yea. its funny how obsidian created both the best and worst dlc for fallout so far.

The funny part is that DM had a few elements I absolutely enjoyed. The "secret stashes" spread out across the Villa were neat to search for the second time around. Father Elijah is an amusing (and hypocritical) villain who doesn't wear out his welcome. Coming back to the town square after a mission and watching two of the companions have a scripted conversation with each other is something I wish had been included in the main game. The benefits you get for completing the DLC are also enormous (and game-breaking, depending on how you utilize them).

It's just a shame it's wrapped up in so much nonsense.

The gold weight fix mod completely goes against the entire point of Dead Money, though. Finding the gold isn't the hard part. It's letting go/

I know, but it doesn't work. Every gold bar arbitrarily weighs 35 pounds, and (from what I understand) Obsidian kept trying to patch so players couldn't take more than a couple of the bars at the end.

The gold weight fix just makes the bars weigh their actual amount, which should have been done in the first place. I felt like the devs should have been paying me with in-game currency to complete that DLC.

Also, I killed off all my companions both times because I was fed up with them. They wouldn't have survived in the Mojave at all.

Honest Hearts was the worst of the lot for me, it's just so bland. DM is actually interesting and has better companions, for starters. For me, the ranking goes: OWB>DM>LR>HH.

Honest Hearts starts out very well, but the final mission is crap (as I've explained in the past). I found DM's companions to be exaggerations of those found in the main game.

People are seriously defending that 50$ season pass shit in the thread...

how can they even defend it when we don't know what's in it?

I learned my lesson with Bioshock Infinite: Even if i think the devs are great, if you have no idea both what's in the Season Pass and if its any good then what's the rush? Let them release it and see if it's worth your time and money. and by the time it's all out the complete package will likely be at a decent price, too.

Just don't buy season passes in advance, period. rare is the moment when that decision will bite you in the ass

honestly, might just skip it then. If i have to mod a game or DLC to make it tolerable then i'd rather just not bother at all.
Don't skip it, Dead Money is a good DLC - my favourite in fact and all of them are worth playing at least once regardless. Honest Hearts was the weakest imo.

Yeah I wasn't too impressed with Bethesda's F3 DLCs nor with Fallout 4 itself but with this price hike and the length of time it'll take for the eventual
not
-GOTY edition to reach a sensible discount they'll probably see a lot of sales off the back of this announcement.

I'd be worried too but Bethesda has been very generous with their DLC and expansions since Morrowind. For the most part, they have been higher quality.

I vastly prefer giant expansions to smaller ones. One shivering isles outdoes all of fallout 3's small ones. I found it hard to get back into a game for a smaller expansion, but a giant one that'll grab me for 20+ hours? Yep, I'm in.

I'll just wait for the price error that nets me Fallout 4+Season Pass for $10. All you suckers deluding yourself into dropping $50 into a Season Pass need to rethink your lives.

You should buy the season pass right now to support Bethesda, they'll need your money to deliver an even better product compared to that stellar piece of software F4 already is.
Even if you don't own the game yet, buy now and save later.

Right just on the mad rush home but who's up for some

I
V then?

All of us, but no one can play online. EDIT: Oh, didn't see the quoted text.

Good suggestion for the thread, feels like a eternity.

I'm with Zkylon regarding DM, loved it.

It's just a business upselling their product. Classic tactics.

Like you, I'm surprised so many people are falling for it. Better to wait a year and see what mods/patches are out before jumping on it.

But Fallout 4 is trash. A bunch of small DLCs won't save it.

Right then boys and girls seeing as this is a pain in the arse to do in game let's try this...

Hmm, what should I play next, SteamGAF?

Ethan Carter is a solid play if you haven't played the non-Redux... the environments are absolutely stunningly done if you're into things that are screenshot-worthy. The overall story is well done, even if some of the things along the way seem weird at the time.

Stasis is still on my "play this soon" list, as StallionFree made it look like it was a good time and not a bad 100%.

Juju is a bit of a disappointment. I had high hopes for it after watching the trailer and such, but a lot of the environments are kind of lazy and the core platforming didn't really feel good.

Dust isn't long, but it's a solid 2D sidescrolling metroidvania ARPG. The artwork is pretty well done most of the time, the only complaint I really had about the game was that the combat got a bit stale/repetitive pretty early on.

I feel pretty comfortable in saying that Uncharted 4, the true successor to Uncharted 2, will be your GOTY.

I seriously doubt it. I probably won't even play Uncharted 4 this year. And I don't think an Uncharted game has ever been my GOTY. As to how the overall game ends up in terms of the single player, we'll just have to see what happens with the story and pacing and mix between action and puzzle sections, I guess. I felt Uncharted 3 was a step back toward the promise that Uncharted had shown in its first installment and I have trouble picking which game is on the top of the franchise for me.

My GOTY, barring anything surprising happening, will be Dark Souls 3. It's pretty much a lock at this point. If something I really like and buy/play immediately comes out in the Holiday 2016 season, it could happen -- The Evil Within was sitting atop my list for 2014 until I replayed Dark Souls when it was converted to Steamworks and finally got to check out the DLC content... it made me realize how much fun I had had with Dark Souls 2 back in the first half of the year and how wrapped up I had gotten in the game and I realized I was probably pushing TEW to the top simply because it was fresh in my mind, so I swapped them and put DS2 back on top. Dark Souls 3 would have to be a radical shift from anything FROM has done in this genre since their effort with Demon's Souls for something else to have the chance to slip into the mix as a true contender.

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
All these people just salty because a $50 season pass on Steam is still a better long term decision than Quantum Break on the Windows 10 store.

F4 is maybe the best software you can actually buy on Steam right now, you should support Bethesda too and buy the season pass, you know they will deliver. A lot of people rightly understood this, like you can see in the gaming thread, and they are doing the right thing.

Is this real? I honestly have no idea. Fallout 4 is pretty mediocre regardless.

My supply of tears from people who bought the Arkham Knight pass is getting low so please go ahead and buy the F4 one aplenty.

I refunded my purchase of the Arkham Knight Season Pass :3 Thankfuly I got it using Gaben Dollars and the refund went through a-OK.

what i find even funnier is that personally that I think that on paper, out of all the dlcs in FO3, NV, and with the recently announced FO4 dlc, on paper Dead Money sounds the most interesting, EASILY. going to rob a casino that no one has ever been able to rob even after the bomb drops. that sounds fucking awesome.

Eh, you refunded Arkham Knight Season Pass just to buy Yakuza 5. You don't understand where the real value is, pal, let's be honest.

So ranked matches don't work for me in SFV, and also Fuck Survival Mode. Such a god damn grind just to get colors for people. But i'm sure come march you can buy all the colors you want with fight money.

Umh, now I notice ranked don't work for me too, even if I selected them from the menu, I only fought not ranked ones. For Survival, on Normal with Ken I reached level 30 flawlessy healing only twice, but Bison almost did a perfect on me, on the last fight there's an enormous spike of difficulty.

you must be hanging out with some weird ppl if you're all getting together ironically enjoying dead money -___-

a) not everyone agrees it's crap, everyone who's opinion about fallout i give a crap about i've talked to enjoyed it even if we all agree it's got annoying stuff to it. you just power through it cos u know, the story's really good, the atmosphere's really good, the story hooks with the other dlc are great, etc.
b) you don't have to finish it and bitch about it. hard save before going into the casino, try it out and then if you didn't like it then just load ur save. it's super easy and you get to see for yourself.
c) the gold thing mod is ridiculous, you're actually ruining the whole point of the dlc by doing so. the point is that you can't take the gold, you have to leave it or you die like a random indiana jones henchman.
