Indie Games 2016 [February] We will finish that GOTY 2015 thread eventually

Quick heads up, Superhot gives me bad motion sickness.

Didnt have that in a long time.

I just recently went through older books and discovered my ... 14 year old stamp collection:

I started sorting it with my older me sorting guidelines and started looking through an old bag of stamps that I never sorted... good hobby.

Speaking of which, where is my Stamp collecting simulator?

That's actually a good idea.

In case you guys aren't aware, you can do the SuperHOT for $10 via Nuuvem. Only need a VPN to add to your cart apparently.

Additionally, anyone that had a license for factorio through the website, they now have a steam key redemption button when you log in.

It is a bit the idea behind Steam badges.

We're one step away from the Star Wars pog collectible game.

Which I would totally buy.

True, but I mean actual stamps. I was thinking about the concept some more before going to bed yesterday.

You could even make it part collectible stamp game, which packs to buy and rare chances for rare stamps to drop. I can get rarity percentages from print run numbers. The best "non-intrusive" idea I came up with was a messenger service that lets you "buy" and collect stamps, and then send postcards to other messenger users, with stamp placement of your choice. They can then keep the stamps and the stamp collection doubles as a cute incentive to contact other people worldwide.

Really like the idea, the best way to use it would probably be on mobile.

Also: the biggest difficulty would probably to get the permission to use the official stamps for such a project as they are copyrighted material. Maaaaybe one could get through explaining it as this:
Philatelic Advertising Use
Use in advertising matter, circulars, or price lists to illustrate the postage stamps being sold or the postage stamps in the philatelic items being sold.

Yes, I was thinking about this last night while going to bed.

The Witness, Oxenfree, Firewatch, Devil Daggers, SuperHOT, Grim Dawn, Stardew Valley, GRIP...and it's only February. 2016 has been amazing for indie games

Short month, has anyone played anything from the OP?

I didnt play particularly much, was sunk kneedeep in other stuff. Hope someone else played something so we got at least a voting list :p

I only played The Witness and it was well worth the $40. The game is mind blowing and sets a new standard for walking games.

Notable March releases

Overfall - March 1st
Worlds - March 1st
Blacksea Odyssey - March 2nd
Blood Alloy: Reborn - March 2nd
Shardlight - March 8th
Moon Hunters - March 10th
Alekhine's Gun - March 11th
Deadbolt - March 14th
Albino Lullaby: Episode 2 - March 15th
Slain - March 24th
Samorost 3 - March 24th
ADR1FT - March 28th

I only played The Witness, out of everything listed as released or soon-to-be-released. Other notable inclusions would be Firewatch and Devil Daggers, but I assume those would be available in next month's thread. So, I guess this is my voting list:

1. The Witness

According to SteamSpy, SuperHOT has 79,726 ± 6,555 owners after four days

That's almost SOMA numbers, which sold ~92,000 in ten days.
The Witness sold 100,000+ in a week, across both platforms

Now that's impressive for a debut indie game

I'm more interested in Slain!

I wishlisted Blood Alloy because I would love to hear what the dude did after the KS failed miserably and it looks rather cool.

How is Stardew Valley doing?

I've managed a whopping 10 minutes of gaming time this week and it's ALL been spent on Stardew Valley. That's 100%.

Yeah I dont get to much playing atm either. Didnt even touch my PS4 outside of Netflix.

Just backed Need To Know. Hadn't really been paying much attention to it, till I noticed it was 370% funded.

Kind of like a modern-day Papers Please, you work for an intelligence agency, analyzing potential threats, gathering and verifying info, being faced with moral choices or even choosing to leak stuff or use information for your own gain

It's reached every single one of its stretch goals, and has 9 days left
