Oh no GAF... look what I just did.
A bit over €50 (well closer to €60 with P&P), but I am happy... It's soooo pretty!
That's not a bad price at all! I'm sure you could get more money selling it. Congrats!

Not new to the Micro scene or anything, just felt like snapping some pics today. Unfortunately I couldn't kajigger my camera settings to really capture how sharp the screen looks (for those who don't have one, the answer is 'extremely').

micro1.jpg

This is my favorite faceplate, but unfortunately the screen has lots of annoying hairline scratches. That'll
teach me to throw it in my pocket all willy-nilly.

micro2.jpg

This faceplate's a lot cooler than the camo one that came with the unit.

micro3.jpg

Awesome case is awesome. I got that at TRU for like $2 when they were clearing out GBM accessories.

micro4.jpg

This faceplate was from Pelican, iirc. I like the design but the printing of it is a little iffy, the screen
portion is off-center a little bit. It was part of a 3-pack I bought mainly for a nice burlwood-pattern
faceplate, but that one's centered even worse, it actually cuts off a little bit of the screen on the left.

micro5.jpg

One big happy family.

micro6.jpg

For the benefit of those who aren't 100% aware of how crazy-tiny this thing is.

Where can I find one of these things (semi-affordable)? I must have one!
Agreed. I would love to have one as well. I only have the old GBA and never got the SP or anything, and I hate using my old DS Phat so this would be awesome to have.

They pop up on ebay from time to time and you could always check Amazon's independent sellers.

I personally bought mine through a Mom and Pop game store for around $50 which needed a replacement faceplate but was otherwise flawless.

As much as I hate to say this the best deal I've managed to find for the things is through Gamestop. They're currently selling them for around $30 or so but are marked as 'unavailable online', so you'll have to check some of shops around your area if you go that route.

Nintendo doesn't sell faceplates anymore, and I was wondering if anyone has a silver/black/red faceplate they'd be willing to sell? I wouldn't pay much ($10 max) but... you'd be doing me a huge favor! PM me. Thanks.

Here in Italy you can still find new sliver and green ones in almost every mall's vg departement from €29 to €34,99 max.
I bought 5 of them for €19 each like 6 months ago :D

I am also looking for official Micro faceplates, as the screens on my current ones are pretty scratched up. Anyone know where to get them?

As I understand it, the ones you can get at DecalGirl and similar sites do not replace the screen cover but simply stick on top of your previous faceplate like a skin. Can anyone confirm?

Confirmed, our store sells them. They're thick, reusable stickers. Good stuff though, if you like the designs.

I've asked about this a few times in this thread already, nobody seems to know :(

Bought a new Micro yesterday on eBay NL though. 17 euros, silver one with a black faceplate. I'm happy :)

I'm actually thinking about getting one of these things since I just got Final Fantasy VI Advance. I have a DSlite, but after playing my PSP for so long, using one small screen with a bulky remainder is rather irksome for me (personal quirk, I suppose). Anyway, I was thinking about getting one of these because it looks great for portability, and unlike the SP doesn't look too conspicuous. Plus, the sound jack is nice since the lack of that was rather annoying on the PSP. I checked a local gamestop, and it seems that they have used units for $30. I know the consensus in this thread is for the micro, but in my situation, is it worth it? I'm pretty intrigued by a system that almost a keychain. I wouldn't even consider it at $100, but at $30, it's pretty tempting.

ITS HEEEEERE!!!

And i LOVE it :D

Congrats... hope you continue to enjoy it :)

Well done on getting the screen to display well in your photo... I found it impossible in mine. You really showcased how well the screen looks.

I did pick up a classic gold and red GBA micro once. I did love it but $100 was too much for it. I used it at the gym when I was riding the bike but my eyes started to really hurt (my eyes are pretty bad).

So luckily Circuit City at the time allowed hardware returns.

Just used my DS Phat instead and worked fine. The screen was dark though.

Bought one early last year off Ebay thanks primarily to this appreciation thread, the picture porn was too much for me to resist. Anyway, what a marvelous piece of hardware it is, so beautiful and i love just being able to easily slip it into my pocket whenever i go out and might need to kill some time; re-discovering the GBA library has been great, currently rolling with Yoshi's Island, but i need to pick up a few of the Final Fantasies.

Anybody know of a good pouch or case to keep the Micro in? I like Shig's but I can't imagine I'm ever going to find one of those now

Are 90€ for a Famicom edition with package and everything in super good condition worth it?
If I didn't have one now I'd definitely pay €90 for it, if super good condition means new and unused.

Something like this might be a nice, cheap solution.

I just ordered the 20th Anniversary Edition Micro ($69.99 new). There are still a few Gamestops that have a few Micros new ($39.99 for black, $69.99 for Famicon edition).

Yeah, that's how I picked up my second black one. I might have to look for a Famicom edition, too. So irresistible.

The one main difference between the American 20th edition and the Japanese 20th edition is the logo on the back of the system (and worth $100 more than the american version).

Is there anywhere besides eBay that sells the Famicom edition new? I want one so badly :lol

Gamestop but they are hard to find. Go to your local store and see if they have one. If not, see if the manager could help you get one.

It still makes me smile when I see this topic bumped up and people still discovering the little system. I remember buying a Micro because of the topic about three years ago, and it really is the finest portable system out there. The D-pas is absolutely perfect, probably the finest Nintendo have ever put out, and the screen is amazingly clear despite its size. My Micro was brought everywhere with me for the longest time, usually with one of the two GBA Metroid games.

I charged it and played some Final Fantasy VI on it last night, and I feel like I need to give it some love again. God damn you Micro <3 Thread, you do it to me every time.

i guess this one's for J-GAF, but look what i found in sofmap today for 280円...

it is a "speaker grip"; kind of pointless, though rhythm tengoku sounds awesome through it, and let me repeat it was two hundred and eighty japanese yen new. i think they must've found a truckload in the back, because they had almost every colour imaginable - i went with the match for my all-silver euro unit.

it feels good to buy something for the little guy!

It's a great little handheld, but I sold mine after having it for a few months.

I just found it was too hard to find GBA games here in the UK, and the majority of games on eBay are either copies or go for silly money.

oh, how I miss Sofmap and their AWESOME prices on certain things...
I remember walking through in December and seeing fantasy star 0 for 630円...

I bought an orange GB advance for the flight home for 1000円 ...awesome...just awesome

yeah today i picked up shiren 3 on wii for 630円 as well!

i think their stock-ordering dude has a really itchy trigger finger or something, because almost all their stores have giant piles of stuff that they can't shift for the life of them. spirit tracks has been 1980円 for about a month, and i remember getting monster hunter tri for the same price like two weeks after it came out.

I just use the little black pouch I got in the box with my Micro. Might actually have a look on eBay for a proper one.
