Battleborn - live together or die alone trailer

Don't mind giving it another shot in the open beta. Hope they addressed the little niggling things and basic connectivity issues this time around .

this game has just gotten less and less appealing since it was announced. It feels generic now, and I'm not even sure how it manages that. best of luck to them, but I think it's a pass from me. I'll try it if there's a free weekend for sure, but my expectations are grim

what is this character design..

i kinda like the look of it. although the character design is completely interchangeable with that blizzard game i forget the name of (ie. awful). which makes it more confusing then i think it should be. but between the 2 i think i'd rather be playing this with friends. in reality though, i doubt i'll be playing either.

Randy Pitchford: "We at the company want a game with attitude. It's edgy, it's "in your face." You've heard the expression, "let's get busy"? Well, this is a game that gets "biz-zay!" Consistently and thoroughly."

GAF: So it's proactive, huh?

Randy Pitchford: "Oh, God, yes. We're talking about a totally outrageous paradigm."

So,for the entirety of this games existance, due to the complete lack of a fuck I give about it....I thought Battleborn was a different game and was actually the Public Domain Character MOBO arena of fate (I had to look up what that one was called) from Crytek.

Now that I know what it is? I care even less somehow.

Why are ppl (specially here on gaf) hating on this game so much, it's not even released? Did i miss something?

I guess a combination of looking totally unremarkable, people being less than fond of the head of Gearbox, and the pretty clear fact that Overwatch is going to dominate this particular genre.

a moba with a story?

and although individually i dont actually mind the character designs all that much.... I think when there is more than one character on screen they all kind of mesh together into an incoherrant blob.

Randy Pitchford have gotten tiresome. Alien:CM was a big lie. This game's multiplayer doesn't sound very interesting from previews that have been heard. And I think Tales from the Borderlands is the best Borderlands game and don't have faith that Borderlands 3 is gonna be that much of an improvement over 2, just more tired Borderlands like the Pre-Sequel.

Basically, Gearbox.

I will add this though, I hope this turns out good in the end. The characters look pretty unique from one another and a good FPS-moba is something that could be fun, but if the previews I read are to believed, the 1-Lane Mode they have for the multiplayer can become tiresome and stale very quickly. Also they really should turn it down a notch, especially when they decided to spend a conference about this game hyping that they have a penguin in a mech suit in the game, like that was supposed to be a major selling point.

are they the same genre?

Sort of? They are both hero shooters, but one is like TF2 and the other is like a MOBA. People find them similar enough to choose one over the other.

No, people wanted Band of Brothers 4.
That is also true.

Y'know, want this game to be successful; it seems neat. However, there is no way I can invest in a multiplayer game that people have no faith in. I mean, playing with others is kind of the point.
