Honestly, I just love when Nintendo has their back against the wall because the craziest shit comes out of it. If this is true (a big IF), I can't wait to try it for myself. Remember when everyone thought the Wii remote was batshit insane?

That surprisingly looks premium and well designed. Better than I thought. Not Fisher Price like traditional handhelds out controllers.

For people who have tried this, how good is it at replicating "real" button presses?

The "taptic" engine was never made to do that. I'd imagine it would work well based on how it feels using the Watch, but there's no way of really knowing until it's tried. Apple never used it to replicate physical buttons.

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
All I want is 1080p console with a Traditional Controller and a functional Online Account System is that too much to ask?

I REALLY hope this is fake.

NOOOOO, Nintendo has lost me once again. Well, at least the shape inspires alternative usage. Now, if NX is only on par with Xbone spec-wise...good luck Nintendo, you're going to need it, all of it.

It looks so cool!

Why does it look like there's someone's face in the reflection of the controller on the right side?

Even assuming the haptic buttons work better than any existing non-physical solution, I just don't see it for ha.

portable nintendo system that can connect to tv's with it's hdmi output?

feel like the hands will cover a lot of screen space. HMMM the future is here haha

Pls Nintendo. Don't take buttons away from me.

Like people have said in other threads, I really hope Nintendo's gimmick/innovation doesn't degrade the precision of the controller (as compared to a regular dual-analog controller).
They'll probably let us use the GameCube Adapter for Smash.

Anyway, what of the handheld?

I'm not really bought into the idea that this is what the final controller will be like, but this thing looks crazy enough that I'm totally into it.

exactly what I thought. show us the whole package (games). can't wait for E3 guys

It's real, isn't it? I mean, I have no problems with virtual buttons for basic things in smartphone games, but for a dedicated gaming console? Color me cautious.

Remember when millions of people played Wii sports and then bought an Ipad?

Nintendo, what are you actually doing? Trying to kill your company? I mean this is gonna do some real damage. Why?!? JUST WHY?!?

The scroll wheels on the shoulders, that could also act as buttons, is interesting. You could do a lot of cool things with that in game.

Hopefully the rest of the industry will not follow and leave nintendo in the dust. This is beyond repair.

Haptic feedback is presumably being used according to the same rumors, so you'd get some sort of tactile feeling and resistance when you touch the buttons on the screen

I'm not super clear on haptic tech, how could the controller differentiate between intentional button presses and attempting to locate the "button" in the first place?

Also, freaking LOL at all your overreactions in here!

While it's looking a lot more like the real thing, we still don't know ANYTHING!

Not if this is the handheld or the console controller, not what's in the thing, HELL NOT EVEN IT'S BACKSIDE!

But you guys already know everything about it, just by looking at the pics.

This is some pure comedy gold in here, someone hand me the popcorn!

Of course it's usless to remind people it can still be real.. while being a prototype that is not used in the end... We'll continue to pretend it's the definitive NX controller for 100 pages :)

Where's the B Button in this one?

It was a digital button, the screen presumably works as a touch screen (and has haptic feedback according to these rumors to simulate real buttons), so the button would be a part of the screen. Honestly, I think if the haptic technology is far enough, this could be really, really fucking cool and allow a lot of cool things, like reconfiguring button layouts on the controller so that you can customize the layout to your own tastes and hands

The bad part about this, assuming it is real it totally blew the mindblowing reveal.

I mean, just imagine that controller all lit up with Super Mario Galaxy 3 fire.

Logic and reason has no place in a thread like this. Hype and speculation only
