I noticed that Noctis wasn't that detailed. It felt that the engine could be a Kingdom Hearts engine with very little exploration besides where they allowed you to go.
It didn't have a whole lot of detail. A dream sequence that branches from portal to portal isn't exactly a large portion of a Final Fantasy game if you ask me. The cutscenes looked great, but in all honesty I'm not judging it based off this latest demo because it's just a small portion of the game that doesn't really offer much besides a fresh new feeling of the game.
Outside of that texture weren't jaw dropping. His hair felt like it needed some polish, backgrounds felt like they had no textures to them at all, and the world felt like it needed just a little bit more besides blockades. It should feel well rounded.
Being a dream sequence gave us the scale stuff and of course it's his dream, so it's not like it's something to be incredibly upset about. I rarely know much about Noctis, so I just hope the game itself is fun to play.
If you go back to older footage, when they had him fight the Bohemoth. That was impressive, but again that could probably look the same. I played it on a 50" HDTV and some of the screen caps from my friend's list looked better than what was on my screen.
The world needs something or maybe a better build up to appreciate it. Right now it's all about the combat if you ask me.
