They're going way too long without any info, which causes too much pent-up hype and ensures disappointment. Iwata should have shut his mouth last year, or just said that they're still working on their next system instead of giving a codename. They way that they're handling this isn't a sign that they've done anything about their poor marketing either. Their E3 plans tell me that their marketing team is even worse than ever. Really, they would have been better off dropping E3 completely and just having a Zelda Direct while having Zelda demos playable at Best Buy or something. All that they need is a botched reveal and underwhelming gimmick, and we have Wii U Too.

Read what you're writing. Does this affect the games? The release schedule? Will this make any difference once people have the console and games in their hands? Does it matter they only had Zelda playable at E3?

These are obviously things that should be discussed, but honestly, you're getting way too worked up over this and focusing on what you (think you) want instead of seeing things for what they are, or in this case, waiting to see. You're not the only one of course.

Just... chill.

English Q&A will probably be posted in a few days. Cheesemeister might translate the Japanese one though.

Apparently Nintendo is revealing the NX to its investors. Caught you by surprise, heh?

They better have a damn good explanation for this.

14*10^-9?

But more seriously, I think its almost guaranteed to be a production of hardware problem, not a game "availability" problem. But you can blame games because you don't want to actually say anything about hardware.

I definitely think this is more likely to be the case. I'm not buying the launch lineup bullshit. Something went wrong. I just hope they use Polaris as a result of this delay.

Not much new, just talk about sales and stuff. Some E3 stuff, which will only be Zelda stuff. There will be Hyrule Warriors(Zelda Warriors), TP HD and Zelda U/NX

Along with the transition to the new hard "NX", based on the overall demand forecast, etc., we plan to ship 80 million units.
Sorry for the rough translation, but it looks like they plan on shipping 80 million NX units.

Edit: There's also some talk about the mobile games in there.

I can't believe it's telling me to go fuck myself in japanese!!!!!

But in all seriousness this is typical. I like typical for the time being. Easy to comprehend.

Polaris or 14nm would be the reason for the delay, not the other way around. Whatever the design is, its already set, they won't change to Polaris because of a delay but if Polaris or 14nm had been the design to begin with then that was hoping on a prayer to be ready for 2016 holiday because it would have needed to start production months ago... and 14nm isn't there just yet.

This is a very easy answer to why they can't/won't launch in holiday: they can't make enough consoles.

I love how there is no breakdown of console/handheld, but just "NX units" :)

They have never done that before right?

The fuck?! You're out of your mind Nintendo. Unless they're counting a handheld component.

The only thing I'm looking forward to is Animal Crossing on mobile because that's a franchise that should work well on smartphones without having to be simplified. In fact I think AC games could be a better experience on smartphones if they make the right modifications and additions.
