Yo-kai Watch 2 coming out on September 30th in North America

Part of me is wondering if I should buy either one or wait for the hopeful third version. I wish they had just skipped straight to that one.

Same day as FF15, that's gonna be a busy week.

OUT OF NOWHERE

Can't wait for second season and second game. Have to decide which version to get! OMG THIS CAUGH ME OFF GUARD! September is just around the corner!

Oh and I noticed that the PR doesn't mention a thing about Busters, the minigame introduced in Yokai Watch 2. I hope they didn't REMOVE it from the game. They wouldn't be that stupid, right?

Is that the Three Kingdoms version or another spinoff?? I want Yokai: 3 Kingdoms localized ;_;

This is the second entry of the mainline games. This "second generation" has three spin-offs, Busters, 3 Kingdoms and Dance, which are yet to be announced for a localization.

Agreed, both demos have not sold me on FFXV. Too sci-fi and the combat is way too automated even compared to YW1.

I hope EU date gets announced because that delay was so not fair to EU players.

That is great to hear, navigation was my main issue with the first game because it was a pain until you got mirrors.

I imported the game from AUS last year. Given that the EU version just released last month (?) I doubt we'll get an announcement anytime soon. I would love to be proven wrong though (go nintendo!) :/

I can't speak to the YW2 minigame but the standalone Busters game leans so heavily on Ghostbusters that you'd have to imagine there'd be legal concerns about bringing it over.

Sweet. First game was flawed, but enjoyable, and hearing that 2 is better in every way just gives me more reason to get this one.

It won't be removed. It's one of the only ways in the game to get certain items for the single player.

Awww yeah I've been waiting for an announcement and September is earlier than I expected! I'm really excited yeessss

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.

I saw some Busters footage.
Their car is literally the Ecto-1.
Only way it could come over is after some heavy reworking.

Oh cool. There's a good jRPG to look forward to in September, at long last!

Am I doing it right?

So because the two versions have different Yo-kai... Can you trade them back and forth? And/or get them from other people? And if so is this wireless only or Wifi too?

Judging from the first game there is probably no trading option and it's sort of pointless to try and get them all besides to say "I did it!" so will probably come down to which game has the cooler line-up in your opinion. Pokemon is stale as hell compared to YW but I still have more incentive to "catch 'em all" in the former than in the latter.

Only a few more weeks of school and then I can finish up the first game, then get this game in September! (I paused around the time you need to go to the museum because life happened... And then I played Earthbound and then life happened again, haha.)

Also I just googled Busters and....I need that in my life. I hope nothing is censored and it gets brought here, holy crap. They even wear the suits haaaaa

Yokai Watch 2 supports online play for both trade and battles.

It's a huge improvement over the first game, I have read.

I had a feeling we would get the main line games. My hope for the spin offs are still low. :( Very glad this comes out before Pokemon too. lol

When the Nintendo rep came to the store recently I asked him If he knew we were getting the sequel. And he said, we'll we have had alot of success with the franchise, so I don't see why not :p

Didn't Koei make the spinoff? They release all of their games here these days...I could see it coming over. Busters would have to be brought over by Nintendo though.

Yokai Watch is a very enjoyable game. It's only flaw is the automatic battle system, hopefully they improve upon it in future versions.

I should pick up the first game and finish it before this one comes out. I've heard that 2 improves on the first one in many ways.

They better not. From what I've seen, Busters looks like ridiculous fun and, since I don't get on with the standard Yo-kai Watch battle system, I have been looking forward to Busters.

So excited to hear about this! I beat the first game's story in about 15 hours and just hit the 70 hour mark in the post-game.

This "announcing games with their release dates through PR and social media," thing from Nintendo is so weird. I'm sure they're just in a transitional phase and we'll get regular Directs back within a year or so, but for now it's just so....anti-hype. I wonder if we're gonna get a DQ7 release date through this soon, it's supposed to come out during the Summer right?

I can't wait for Yokai Watch 3 because that takes place in America. I'll get that for sure.

I'm actually curious how the localization would handle the third game. Like Ace Attorney, it tries to pretend the first (and likely second) takes place in America.
Maybe it will be "a far away city" or something.

In all fairness all the stuff they've announced this way is stuff "core" gamers don't care about. They're games targeted towards kids If they showed stuff like Style Savvy and Disney Magical World 2 in a Direct all that would happen is people would complain it's a shitty Direct.

Wow, niiiice. I thought we'd have to wait until installment #3 for that sorta thing!

I hope there's a little bit at Treehouse about this game or something. They can't just only talk about Zelda for three days, right?? I miss Directs.

Another anime RPG for 3DS... Not hyped since I'm not into RPGs anymore but congrats to everyone who is looking forward to this game!

I'd be fine with it. *Shrug*

Then again I actually liked the last Direct they did, whereas most people seemed to be disappointed. Probably because the new Paper Mario looks like ass but there was a lot of other quality stuff announced.

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
The anime is based on the game. Just like Pokemon.

Yeah, but to be fair it seems like in usual Level 5 fashion they always intended to launch an anime adaptation alongside the game, whereas the Pokemon anime came about more organically due to the popularity of Red and Green.
