Trying way to hard to cash in on that Deadpool

"if the Mighty No. 9 folks were REALLY smart, they'd start charging backers to take their name OUT of the credits"
And here I felt bad about dropping $100 on the KS.
I feel for you.
Thanks, guys.Man, I'm sorry. That's some "I Need a Hug" and a strong drink levels of regret. I know that if I had that much disposable income and loved something that much I would have dropped at least that much on any kickstarter I could as well. I truly hope that you find some way to enjoy the game in the end. =(
Counterpoint:"make you cry like an anime fan on prom night."
Beautiful.
That jab at anime fans was completely unnecessary.
I love how awkward the rather realistic sky looks with the cartoony models.Beautiful.
the fuck is this
Thanks, guys.
Yeah, I was so excited for the Kickstarter, I went all in. After all, a Mega Man spiritual successor by the man, Inafune? HOW COULD I NOT!? Well, things didn't end as I had hoped.
Thankfully, the CDN dollar wasn't as bad then as it is now, otherwise the damage would have been much worse. There's that, at least.
I did back Bloodstained though, for the $150 tier. I might upgrade to $300 depending, since the progress of that game is a lot more positive than anything that came from Mighty No. 9. MN9 didn't completely kill the idea of Kickstarters for me, but I'm definitely a lot more careful over what I pledge now.

Yeah, I'm really liking how involved they're being with the community, and the game looks really nice so far (and it's just a short ways into development). They seem to be very receptive to the backers opinions, while doing nothing that might compromise their vision.Bloodstained is the highest amount I've backed a Kickstarter for, but I'm only in for the $100 tier. I really hope it turns out well. It's definitely looking a LOT better than this, at least. It actually looks like the concept art and all the shader stuff they've been doing with the community has been cool.
Maybe, but it was also the only decent part of the trailer.

I wish Mighty No.9 had done a similar voting thing for the graphical art-style. I know I would have opted for something different than what we got.
I don't know what you guys are complaining about. This trailer has won me over.
So you got paid for doing absolutely nothing while delaying finishing your job?I've been following this thread since I got into work this morning, and just now had the chance to watch it myself. I was sort of relishing in the negativity (week 3 backer, for the record). I actually thought the trailer was totally fine.
Anime watchers who never went to prom?
These trailers are a thing now, huh? I get german advertisements similar to this, where an annoying let's player-esque guy narrates the trailer.
The worst.
Are people really that bothered by the joke? Like... anime fans can't laugh at themselves at all?

I can see why you're a fan.

Sunset Overdrive had some fucking great marketing art though.Yeah, Dudebro marketing just never works.
Wildstar tried it. Completely flopped.
Sunset Overdrive did it. Absolute disaster.
Marketing needs to learn that this cringey style just doesn't grab anyone.
My only Kickstarter regret
Blind faith, regret and shame, if I'm not mistaken.the fuck is this

You've never played a game, watched a movie, or read a book that made fun of the audience? It's pretty common. No, I don't really think so. I just think it is the lowest hanging fruit on a tree of low hanging fruits. It so bad and so easy to attack that it has to be done.
It's ironic that a game that wants to be an anime is making fun of people who watch anime.

Really awful trailer. Also the game does look pretty bad visually. It looks like a lazy uprezzed PSP port.
