It kind of makes me want a "street fighter 2" cinematic story set in the early 90s with the original world warriors and a cheesy anime story. Make them. Look like the early sf2 style. Like how mk story mode did mk1

That would require Capcom to make the remaining SFII vets (E. Honda, Blanka, Sagat, T. Hawk, Dee Jay, Fei Long, & Akuma) playable in the near future. And I don't think fans would take kindly to a SFII-only Wave 2.
It would be worth it for the meltdown.

Capcom said 3-4 hours. I'd expect a bit more than 2 hours based on that.

So basically the Guilty Gear Xrd cinemas instead of the Mortal Kombat ones. Over all it looks ok and at least the game has a story mode now.

Damn, FANG's poison is a really terrible way to die, they definitely understated the poison in his gameplay. Story mode can be worth it for moments like that.

TBH, I really thought that characters such as Dhalsim & Zangief shouldn't really be in SF V because they have absolutely no reason to appear storywise.
That, & I didn't want this game to be overflooded with SF II characters for the 3rd/4th time in a row after with Super Turbo, Alpha/Zero 3 & the SF IV series.
Was thinking the same thing.

The story mode gives me the "its sooo bad that its good" feeling. Just what I was expecting and wouldn't have it any other way. I am glad to see capcom didn't abandon this game.

Sim was the one who freed the dolls and helped destroy the psycho drive. I still think he's mid tier at best storyline wise, but taking a half hearted punch from Ryu is impressive.

Sim makes a ton of sense. He can free people from mind controls and there are tons of Dolls and Nash around.
I'm convinced the people saying this looks terrible care either too much about the story of Street Fighter and don't think it's silly as fuck in the first place

So weird seeing story mode without sprites, hand drawn animation or cg. Haven't watched the video but from reading the thread and watching the gifs, it's going to be cheesy over the top, love it.

Do you really expect for Capcom to get the same 18 English Voice Actors/Voice Actresses that had previously voiced the characters (The 16 default characters plus Alex & Guile) just to dub story mode for the game? That would be tough.
