PlayStation Network Thread | June 2016

So this upcoming Tuesday is going to be little crazy with stuff to play. What are you all getting, and on which platforms?

I am getting GE2:RB's pre-order in on my PS4, which gets me GE:R. I'll be playing that alongside ZTD on the Vita.

Just ZTD. Will wait until GE2:RB Vita launches on US to see if they do a 180 and give GE:R for free too. Odds are around 0%, but hey.

Other than ZTD (day one, obv), is there anything noteworthy coming out in the next week or two in EU?

What about Star Ocean? Is it expected to be good? What about someone who never played a SO game before?

Is there anything else close?

SO5 should be good if your expectations are in check. Small scope, 25~ hour jrpg. There's an impression thread on gaf you should check out.

Will be posting a review of Grand Kingdom hopefully sometime later this week/next week and a first-impressions article of the title tomorrow, but I highly recommend the game if you like RPGs.

It has a great presentation, fun combat mechanics, a lot of depth regarding its MP modes & online integration and a story/localization I personally really enjoy so far.

There is a demo on the PSN store to check out if you want to try before-you-buy but I still highly recommend the game. Will be posting a link to my first-impressions on the game tomorrow, so give that a read if you need an extra push or more information on th game.

Grand Kingdom would be the game I would have gotten myself lost in if it weren't for GE and ZTD releasing so close to it. That game's demo was some good stuff.

It is really impressive HOW MUCH is in Grand Kingdom.

-Single Player Story Mode
-Six different slots for four party members
-Online Meta-Game
-Online Battles for different nations
-Exploring different maps (based on parties level)
-Shops, Blacksmith, Tons of Classes

It is a game literary overflowing with content. I can't even get a review out this week, as I am still very early in the game and got my review code on it a week ago; there is that much stuff to unpack before you get into the thick of things XD! Going to be posting a first impressions look at the game though tomorrow to celebrate its physical release launch.

Highly recommend you give the game a shot when you have the time Names, as it really is a great JRPG so far.

Oh yeah this is definitely a game I will play at some point. It's jam packed with content. We literally got everything Japan got in the course of months all at launch.

One of the beauties of localization sometimes; content released over a long period all coming at once or not long after the NA/EU release.

Thanks all! How did I miss GK? I think I may have heard the name and just subconsciously dismissed it as that's a pretty dull sounding title. Game seems like it could be right up my alley. Downloading Vita demo now.

So, I just discovered that I bought Gradius V (PS2 Classic) for PS3.
What a mistake I had made.

The input lag is ginormous. The controls felt so delayed that I'd crash into walls constantly. There's a lot of slowdown/frame-rate issues as well.

Waste of money.

Just got Odin sphere in the mail and man, German retail boxes are awful with that huge USK logo. I almost regretted not paying the full price for a UK copy.

While not a review, I was able to write a long article covering my first 8-12 hours with Grand Kingdom :).

http://3wirel.lostsig.com/2016/06/27/grand-kingdom-ps-vita-ps4-first-impressions/

Really love the game so far and can't wait to play more of it this week :)

Pretty good review. Yeah like I said before, everything about this game sounds perfect and it's almost as if my name was on it. Problem is: timing. Much like how the next few months, this game just came out at a real bad time for me. I will be getting it down the road but as of now there's way too much for me to play...

Guys, did Dragon's Crown get pulled from EU PSN or something? Not finding it on my local Belgian one or the UK PSN store but searching around I'm not finding anything on this and it seems to have been on sale here not too long ago. What's up? :/

Yeah. I'm reading NIS America published it over here and I know they had a fallout with Atlus recently but I figured it wouldn't affect past releases. I'm surprised we didn't get any warnings on this too, or at least none I can see. When did this even happen?

edit: to be honest this is probably thread worthy if it's because of the Atlus thing, jeez. I Sent NISA EU a tweet. I hope it's just some temporary nonsense

Energy Hook is coming next week for the PS4. No mention on the Vita version. Did it get officially cancelled?

And on other news, Hatsuho will be back on Toukiden 2, so bestest news right here.

Not officially cancelled, but the Dev was saying on Twitter that it's highly unlikely because he couldn't get it running properly.

Damn shame, would've loved it on the handheld.

Looks like there's going to be a big sale today. Neptunia Rb 2 for $2.99, Ray Gigant for $11.99, Tales of Hearts for $5.99. Seems like the Bamco games haven't updated yet.

Wow, actually matching their Steam discount levels with that one, about time!

Just finished playing the DQH2 Vita demo. I really hope they release this for the west.

If they bring over DQH2 on PS4, then I'm positive they will bring over the Vita version. They are doing it for Builders and randomly released Adventures of Mana on Vita today; positive the Vita version will come over :).

Went with GE:R on the Vita alongside ZTD. Easier to swap between the two on one system. Can't wait to finish work!

Glad you took my advice buddy :D! Have a blast with both games :).

I hope so. It scratches that action rpg/adventure itch I want on the Vita.

I hope so, they're still erratic though - no Chaos Rings 3; no I am Setsuna etc. Getting better. We just need Liam to do another #VoteVita campaign if it doesn't come (everyone seems to have forgotten how much he was pushing for Adventures of Mana which is finally happening!)

I made sure to note the #VoteVita movement when writing the article covering Adventures of Mana on 3wirel :). That movement is having results; hopefully this paints a nice picture for other games like Mighty Gunvolt and Freedom Planet on Vita.

Good shout. There's plenty of time for the Yakuza 0 app to come over too.

Anyone pick up Prison Architect?

How's the controls/fit on console?

I have not, but they (introversion) have shown a lot of Xbone gameplay on their YouTube channel, and it looks promising. They talk a lot about how much work went into optimising the interface for controllers.

first we have to buy the game , so adventures of mana is any good? i might buy it, its cheap for a square enix new game , i mean even old games from square enix are like 10 bucks

Update : so polygon uploaded a 30 minutes video about the game , is this game running at 60 fps ? it runs really well and to be honest except for the mobile looks on the user interface i kinda like it. I have played the original game in the game boy , i believe it was called final fantasy adventure here in the states and im seeing a lot of things that remind me of this game .
Also wasnt sword of mana (the gba awesome looking game)a remake of this game as well?

Here is the gameplay video:

Yessssss...

What's the skinny on these two EDF games? Any good?

Also, what's the relationship between ToCS and Trails in the Sky (not going to use the acronym for that one)? Never sure about that series...which ones do you need to play, which order, etc.

The Amiga Brotherhood
Incredible sale! :D Too much to buy :\

Yesterday i switched to the japanese account to try some demos:

-Uppers is awesome, period, i want it

-Tokyo Xanadu demo only had a dungeon and honestly despite the real time battle system it felt like playing Cold steel, characters look the same, dungeon looks and plays the same, super attack look the same and so on. The boss fight felt like a easier YS boss fight though.

-Summon night 6 is probably the best looking japanese game, really the environment was incredibly detailed, high res but at the same time clean, it also looks like a good game so must-buy when it will come here.

i still need to try project diva x, DOA extreme 3 and others yet to be downloaded.

Maybe a weird question, but I've been wondering if there's a price checker and history for digital PSN titles. I'm used to having "Is There Any Deal" for PC, which tracks the current price for digital games and their historical lowest price, so I know when I should buy a game and when I should wait for a better offer. I'm mainly interested in PS4 exclusives, so I can't really compare their prices with other versions.
