The Nostalgia Critic |OT| He Remembers It So You Don't Have To

Oh god, wasn't Spy Kids 4 the one where it was the kid(s) of (one or both of) the main characters from the previous movies?

I don't even think it had 4 in the title. *looks it up* Oh yeah, "All The Time in the World" & it had that talking dog.

Sylvester Stallone. He's one of the biggest action stars ever.

And no, 4 was not direct-to-video. I remember all the "in theaters" promotion.

Movie was a bomba. No one wanted the new kids. They'd have been better off waiting until now and doing something with theoriginsl actors the age they are now.

Huh, it got a theatrical release? It smelled of D2V, the whole plot. Different cast, reusing an old plot, etc.

And aha, my instincts were right! Back of my mind was saying "that Rocky guy".

You mean Frank Stallone?

I must say the Spy Kids 3D review is really enjoyable.

The Conspiracies video is kinda lame and at some point cringy.

Yep, next week is
Jem and the Holograms
That's going to be a treat.

Urgh, I just finished watching the movie (on my third attempt) in preparation for watching this review (and because it's on my radar deep enough that I felt obligated to watch the trainwreck). What a horrible experience. I totally agree with Rob.

I hope NC tears it to shreds rather than laughing at it's badness. It deserves to die in a fire.

Then this shall be an interesting review then. Never did watch that show and I really don't have much interest personally (though I see it can be streamed on Netflix).

But it does remind me of when there was another movie realeased early in the 2000s, based on
a girl's toyline
.

And that would be
Bratz the Movie
. I'm still baffled to this day on why that needed a film in the first place.

Yea it's a bad movie, to bad
the Misfits only make an appearance at the end of the movie
Just stick to the IDW comics( which is really awesome BTW)

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Why should it end?

He ended the show before with a review of Scooby-Doo. That was followed by "To Boldly Flee" which killed off the NC character so he could do Demo Reel. Then Demo Reel flopped and he went back to NC, doing the current "every other week" format with other actors.

The original Scooby Doo review is so bad. You can tell just how annoyed he was with it all at that point. It's not Fun watch.

I feel like that can be said of nearly every Nostalgia Critic review since the Scooby Doo review as well.

Anyway, sadly had to make room on my external media drive, so I deleted all of his videos. I still have a slight glimmer of hope that he'll go back and do older movies like Prehysteria! or something, but I doubt it since he just make newer and more obvious stuff. Not that I blame him.

well, there was Demolition Man. That's his classic nostalgia cut-off.

Not sure if I should have waited for the editorial to be uploaded first, but here is a behind-the-scenes image for one of the upcoming reviews, which is
Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Only question would be which of the films given that
the Chipettes
are being acted out in that image too. I felt this was overdue for a review or should I say being torn apart by the Critic.

I still can't fathom how that film managed to get sequels (well of course they were kind of profitable to the studio); I actually had the "pleasure" of having to sit through 2 of the films.
Uggggggggggghhhhhhhh!

Even
David Cross
had it out for the 3rd film, calling it "
the most unpleasant experience [he had] ever had in [his] professional life
." Clearly that's why he never showed up for the 4th film.

And if that wasn't enough, most of the posters for all 4 films had the characters in practically the same poses, but in different clothing.

Ah, another film I've been hoping for Doug to tackle. :) Scooby-Doo 2 was pretty fun, so I expect the same for
Alvin and the Chipmunks
.

Seraphis Cain

bad gameplay lol
So I was just thinking...it's not all that much longer until Nostalgia Critic itself fits Doug's original criteria for review, is it?

I mean NC's been around for 9 years now. It's not unreasonable to think some people could actually be nostalgic for Nostalgia Critic. :lol

The Real Abed

NC: Alvin & the Chipmunks

Next week is
Doug's favorite anime movies
I thought the first one was wonderfully done. They made specifically sure to not fall into the trap of "modernizing" the music and even made fun of the fact that other movies would have done so.

But then they threw that all out the window with all the subsequent movies. Fucking hacks. There's only one Chipmunk's movie. No more. Just that one.

I already see people wax nostalgic for the old videos.
People have done the same for the AVGN. Hell, the Nerd himself lampshades it in his Mega Man review when he travels back to 2004 and his past self brings up the (then) recently released Mega Man X7 and he realizes that he's become retro.

I've seen people get nostalgic for the Irate Gamer. Bleh...

Well I admit, the first film was exactly that terrible though it certainly got worse when the sequels came in.

And loved that they did
a parody song from the Chipmunks Adventure
at the end.

I'm saying awkward since Allison despises Doug after she got fired and he didn't do a good job standing up for her or something. So the two being in the same movie... yeaaaah...

On another note, no NC this week as they're planning a future clipless review for an upcoming blockbuster (I'm predicting Suicide Squad). Instead, here's Doug's 7 favorite anime movies. It's a long one, over 40 mintues.

Oh boy, I sure hope that.....

*says he hasn't seen
Summer Wars or Girl Who Leapt Through Time
*

....well that's a bummer.

Expecting a good amount of Ghibli films, then.

Summer Wars is like Digimon Our War Game only better and with less dead eyes.

EDIT: Is that Lindsay in the Chipmunks review?
