Im just happy theres no BC at all.
Why?

Then buy digitally. I don't understand the bullshit people come up with to be upset about.
The dock is more than likely going to add additional power.
Looks awesome, a dream come true.
Think it needs whatsapp and snapchat support :l
That's a tablet with a battery 3x the size of an iPhone 6 or 3DS XL. I talk about a smartphone size battery, which is what we can expect from a handheld, and you give me something 3x the size. My estimation looked like it was pretty damn accurate.
I'm not sure you know what you're talking about, at all.
I don't think this will be a very portable handheld. More like a tablet. Something you'd slip in your messenger bag, backpack or purse and bring with you on the go. Not something you'd stick in your pocket, though. (Unless baggy pants come back in a big way!)Thanks guys. But...
Wut.
I don't understand. How tiny could these controllers be or how massive could the portable be to account for this?!
The tweet you guys were talking about is literally from the same person so he's either crazy or really bad at explaining.
Ofcourse they'll look the same. I'm just hoping for a good resolution, framerate and AA on NX.It's looks like Nintendo are not aiming for high end graphics. I fully expect the WiiU and NX version of Zelda to look the same apart from resolution differences.
Sure but they would be stupid to really go over 5". That's just way too big for a handheld device. Smaller tablets get away with it because they're 95% screen, they don't need to deal with thumbsticks, shoulder and face buttons. Having a 5.5-7" screen with all that extra stuff would be massive. It would just be a Wii U Gamepad, which you really can't trim down all that much without making it super uncomfortable.
A new console: but what about BC?
Jesus people.
An absolutely central point of good VR is exact positional tracking of the headset and controllers. Unless the "dock" serves double duty as a high-refresh camera -- and I hardly think that Nintendo is looking to make this thing even more expensive -- there's not going to be any VR use case for this.LMAO.
You know it wouldn't be that hard since all smart phones offer VR and the only thing missing are controllers.
Then buy digitally. I don't understand the bullshit people come up with to be upset about.
With a good, modified CPU, it could. Not necessarily on its own, no.
That's the thing, the X1 and PS4 weren't even high-end machines when they were announced 4 years ago, and they can't even reach that on a console that launches 5 years later. You're acting like matching power with their competitors would be a bad thing. When it's also a portable system? I'm ecstatic. This is the Vita 2 with a (most likely) better library of games and a built-in TV mode. I couldn't be more pleased.
I already feel like the PS4/XBO are overkill, unless you're into VR (I'm not) in which case they're not nearly powerful enough. Games like Xenoblade X & Splatoon are plenty good for my tech desires already and the idea of being able to play more impressive games than that on the go with non-touch based controls is really enticing.
Yeah, the NX isn't going to be enticing to people who don't want a portable system, but between the PS4, the XBO, and the PC scene, we really don't need another high-end home gaming platform.
They were never getting 3rd party suport again anyway, trying to get more power would be useless. It's looks like Nintendo are not aiming for high end graphics. I fully expect the WiiU and NX version of Zelda to look the same apart from resolution differences.

I don't have quotes on hand, but Iwata always seemed to say "I'm not saying we're making a hybrid" instead of "We're not making a hybrid." It was never as concrete as people believed. Of course if the quote proves me otherwise I apologize, haha. What i dont get is why Iwata outright denied this many times
b) Nintendo won't make garbage controllers, it's the one thing they always get right.
Because he was definitely offering up "StreetPass" as the console name...
You folks harping on the "Go" name are focusing far too much on the momentary popularity of Pokemon Go. Come March, that game's impact will be lessened to a much, much more niche group.
There's an additional wrinkle to the story too, albeit one we should treat with caution as it is single-source in nature with a lot of additional speculation on our part. This relates to the idea that the Tegra X1 in the NX development hardware is apparently actively cooled, with audible fan noise. With that in mind, we can't help but wonder whether X1 is the final hardware we'll see in the NX. Could it actually be a placeholder for Tegra X2? It's a new mobile processor Nvidia has in its arsenal and what's surprising about it is how little we actually know about it.
I am not used to carry gaming devices with me... My last portable was a Gameboy and that turned out to be annoying to carry with another phone. It's not going to have cellular data support. Why wouldn't you just use your tablet or phone?
They have a product for people who want BC, it's called Wii U.
ExactlyI can understand lamenting 3DS BC, but yeah, Wii U BC has been a pipe dream for a long time. Starting anew is for the best.
So we're accepting a 5 hour battery life out of a modern day gaming handheld.
Christ allmighty we're going backwards.
They are arrogant as fuck. Only Apple is capable of bringing new ideas and find massive sucess amd even then Apple does follow popular trends and still find massive sucesss...Nintendo?
They truly have no comprehension on how to read a market.
960 x 540 is pushing it even for a 5" display. If the NX has a 5.5" - 7" screen (which makes the most sense given the form factor and hybrid capabilities), there's no way it could be that low resolution. 1280 x 720 would be the minimum for a reasonable resolution at that size.
(For reference, the iPad mini at 7.9" is 2048 x 1536 and $100 8" Android tablets are 1920 x 1200.)

Crazy I guess. There's no way you can do multiplayer off just that. One side would literally have all the buttons.
I don't think you understood mainly what I was saying. "People who would never read issues of a marvel comic are basically doing that by going to see each movie that is all connected in a universe". Nintendo could have the same effect with their branding of a home console that makes gamers out of people who would never have bought a console in the first place.
I can understand lamenting 3DS BC, but yeah, Wii U BC has been a pipe dream for a long time. Starting anew is for the best.
It begins.... as a handheld gamer im really happy.

Starting fresh is for the best if they were going x86. Instead they're opting to use the Tegra.Exactly
If Nintendo made a "PS4" it would be their death sentence. Xbone is already having a hard enough time as it is. Nintendo read "that" market, and they wisely want no part of it.Exactly. Watch how and if it happens, they fail to penetrate this console/handheld hybrid market due to the massive PS4 success and blame it on something totally unrelated to the fuvk ups.
Nintendo isnt Sony. They cant read a market like Sony does and find massive success in it. Plus they dont have a powerful, recognisable brand like PlayStation to extensively help them out with "new ideas". So, I have no idea why they think the way they think as if they were in an enviable position.
Instead of pulling a Samsung and improvise the PS4 formula, powerful console with competitive pricing and awesome third party support, they go the other way around with ideas that never take off (bar Wii) hoping it sticks and loose so much in the proces.
They are arrogant as fuck. Only Apple is capable of bringing new ideas and find massive sucess amd even then Apple does follow popular trends and still find massive sucesss...Nintendo?

That's not what I'm saying. Yes, there'll be phone ports, but what I'm saying is that there will be a decent amount of experienced developers ready to make games that take advantage of the system's strengths, like physical controls. Why would someone buy a device to play games their phone already plays?
???????????
540p on a 8" us fine for games.
Well we have one side poking out of the unit leaving internal space for the other side to fit in under the screen. I think we could have two pretty sizable full featured controllers. I don't see why we would just have this:
That doesn't make much sense.
