Upcoming Vita Games (200+ Upcoming games in ENGLISH) || 2016 Edition ||

I still use the internal 1GB on my PSTV
Id love to get a 8GB for it but in the end I can never justify spending the money on it 😖

I have a 64GB in one Vita and a 32GB in my PSTV. I'm thinking of either just buying a second 64GB memory card to swap in my current Vita, or buying a second Vita to put it in lol :p

Second vita. Red colour. Do it.

I have a 16gb card since d1, git on my level :p

How lol

I've been thinking of importing one of the new colours from Japan for a while. I'm just a bit bothered about the x and o being switched on the system level bothering me.

At some point, once I have the money, I plan on owning:

2 x Vita on EU account
1 x Vita on US account
1 x PSTV on EU account

At the moment I only have one EU Vita and one EU PSTV :(

I keep thinking of buying a second Vita for Japanese games, but for a system that's supposedly mostly dead, it's still pretty expensive. I deeply regret not buying the PSTV for like $30 when I saw it in store back in May.

All this Steins Gate discussion, I really wish MC would sit down with the lab mems and give them a timeline of every experiment they conducted, but I guess that would require him to not be excruciatingly annoying for two minutes.
I'm at the beginning of the chapter where he has a nightmare with a shadowy Mayuri. After all the part time warrior looking for her dad stuff.

Steins;Gate, of course. Psycho-Pass is... Nice, for those that watched and enjoyed the anime.

Even though I loved the anime, I really don't see myself having the motivation to replay the visual novel again. It's good...but just good.

+backlog :p

Is it cynical of me to think that many of the people who might jump on piracy as a reason to cancel something are just thanking their lucky stars they have an easy out and don't have to admit something like "we were never going to actually release this" "we couldn't make it work" or "you know, really we just promised it because it seemed like a good idea at the time but that was years ago now".

I'm not including the VA11 HALL-A folks in that (and I really do hope they get their vita port out because I really want to play it on my vita), but... yeah.

Nope, especially when some of the same indies get released on PC. Piracy is just an excuse.

It really is a bullshit excuse. Piracy has been possible on 3DS for quite a while and games still get released on that. Most people who pirate would never have bought the game in the first place if they couldn't get it for free anyway.

Here is what piracy does

Games that sell well maybe potentially sell a little bit less well.

Games that would have sold bad anyway now have an excuse why their games sell bad

There is almost no way Vita piracy will turn a project from profitable to not profitable.

Exactly what I was thinking too.

Agreed 100%. I feel like many of these developers were just going to wait until the Vita faded into oblivion with time before canceling their ports and are now announcing those cancellations using the easy way out blaming piracy.

Nope, 'scape goats are baaaaad and that's exactly what the Vita piracy scene is going to be. Joe Consumer doesn't know how to, nor are they willing to risk Henkaku - and Vita owners are loyal to the companies that DO support us. It should be a non-issue at this point in the game.

No, you are right on the money. Many Vita owners are likely not going to bother with Homebrew on the platform and will just buy games to support indie studios & localizations to continue happening on Vita.

The studios that state 'piracy' as the reason for no Vita port/localization, then that is just saying 'We really don't want to do it, but we don't want to sound like pricks.....here is some random excuse that we can throw around now!' That might sound mean and I apologize for that but that is what commenting on Vita piracy is, an excuse.

Speaking of 'cancellations':

Akiba's Beat PS4 releasing December 15th in Japan. Vita version release date "pending". We'll have to see what happens with this, lol.

Also, despite all the previous spinoffs being for Vita, it looks like Cyberdimension is not, since it's running on Unreal Engine 4.

Itll probably be PS4 and PC also in the west then.

Acquire will probably release Vita version eventually (in 1-2 months) but the thing we should worry about is XSEED's view on this. They could just localize PS4 version be done with it. Or they could wait until both are out and release them at the same time. Honestly, I don't trust XSEED. I expect the worst.

That would be stupid imo, vita is kept alive by its owners that buy lots of games, i don't see this changing drastically.
I have henkaku but i use it just for arcade emulation.

Disappointed about 4 goddess online, i was waiting for it :\ Maybe vita will get it in some way or another.

About akiba's beat you are too pessimist, the game is already made and there's no reason to cancel it so close to the release, we are talking about akiba's trip, a series that started on vita, not some graphics heavy AAA game, it probably just need more optimizations.

Just FYI, I think Akiba will release for Vita (never said otherwise, lol, so we can put the pitchforks down). Acquire are long-time Vita supporters and even XSEED have already signed on for the Vita versions (btw, maybe this'll be the last time they sign games up 6+ months in advance seeing all the things that can go wrong).

I just find it the latest in a long line of crappy news this year in terms of Vita stuff.

I know that some bad thing happened but you guys(in general) only report bad news though, why no one of you posted that slain is coming in november and it's crossbuy for example? Did you forget that lots of mid size japanese games have a vita version? Or that azure revolution added a vita version?

You guys give too much importance to valutation errors of indie developers that by definition are often inexperienced and/or "poor" and/or at their first game/port, remember that vita is a weak hardware and many popular engines among indies don't support vita or run bad and usually many indie developers aren't code experts that can master the art of optimization.

That is a very good point; a lot of stuff is still coming out this year for Vita (can count on two hands games I really want to get and play day-one) and recent announcements shows that Vita titles are still releasing from indie studios. I think its important to consider that the Vita is the 'underdog' handheld at this stage of its life. Many are rooting for it and it has a lot of great stuff coming, but it's facing a lack of Sony support and other factors hindering future growth.

But many Japanese and Indie studios are supporting the platform still and based on all the Vita games I have reviewed on 3wirel so far, the average score I have given all of them (when counting all of them) is about 4 out of 5. This year is a great year for the platform and I can't wait to see future releases come to the platform. Indie studios face issue with the Vita because, like you said, the platform isn't the strongest thing out there (mobile is more powerful for example graphics wise). If a indie studio can get a game running on Vita despite some issues, than that should be applauded I think :).

But I tend to be the positive thinker here, so I am more lack and less bitter toward things (the only thing I legitimately got pissed off over was Bandai Namco's PR blunder with 2016's typo of Next Order and that was mainly from writing the same story four times in the span of a day). So, I'm just happy the Vita is getting games still :D.

Ever heard of confirmation bias?

I posted the Slain news in this exact thread more than a week ago, lol. Just a few posts up I posted some good news about Neon Chrome. So, again, please put the pitch fork down.
