early 2017 as usual (I expected february), still see no reason not to fit in a summer show to go long with the fall/winter one now that their roster is getting ridiculously big

Sweet Christmas.

er spring.

can't wait to see some danny.
this is the series I have been waiting to see since they announced the marvel shows on netflix

I am curious if cage will be present in the series at all since he is often teamed up with cage anyways.

Happy early birthday to me. What cameos do you guys think we gonna see here? Excluding Claire Temple since that's a given.

looking at his episode credits, like half of them were when the show was good at least.

really I am not to worried, as they have to be writing the defenders, and due to that danny has to be defined in some way already so I am not to afraid about them screwing up the character.

the story could be lackluster, but, I still can't wait :p

Not really interested in seeing them shoehorning in any contrived cameos (which only leads to the world feeling that much smaller), I'd rather they just focus on creating the best story possible with enough momentum to keep things consistently engaging through all 13 episodes . Getting rather sick of Marvel utilizing every other show as a backdoor pilot opportunity for some other character.

It's not writing scripts I'm worried about, dude was showrunning S6 to S8. afaik he was sole showrunner, unless there was some serious meddling from Showtime execs. Hopefully Netflix and Marvel are keeping everyone in check in the good way.

to be fair season 8 of dexter wasn't horrible until the last few episodes.

it was just a very disappointing final season since they decided to keep the same damn formula that they had been using instead of doing something big and exciting as the final season.

that all being said. Iron fist would likely make one hell of a lumberjack.

I'm kinda worried now after Luke Cage.
I hope they have enough material to fill these 13 episodes and that the villains are on point.
I'll definitely be watching though, Netflix hooked me with Daredevil and I'm looking forward to Defenders.

Edit: shit, the last few seasons of Dexter were just insultingly stupid. I'm REALLY worried now.

Nah, season 8 was pretty terrible. Season 7 was alright, overall, though. But 6 and 8 were awful.

Even though i'm not a comic fellow. I'm still hyped for this.

Wish i was a Kung-Fu magic person. 😭

Given The Punisher is getting his own series, they really did miss an opportunity to reimagine Iron Fist as an Asian American.

Still looking forward to this.

'Green giant', 'man in a suit', 'hammer wielding God' - take your pick.

Can't wait, aside from Daredevil, this was the one I was most interested in seeing depicted in live action.

Probably won't see a real trailer until February. End of January if we're lucky.

Really not sure what to expect. Even with the Iron Fist comics I've read, there's a lot of ways they could go with this.

Considering it's a Netflix Marvel show, how long do you think we'll have to wait until Danny gets his costume?

This first season of LC ends in a way that suggests it's not going to be until Defenders or LC season 2 that that happens.

I most wanna know how they are going to handle the costume. It's easily one of the hardest to approach yet. Mostly for the mask.

For the outfit, they could go with a pin-striped tights like the current comic, they could go ninja robes, they could do more urban ninja, or they could even just go full hobo with it.

ah I still have like 5 more episodes to get there :p

but I am not surprised.

Misty was already the character set up to move onto the new series, and is arguably just as important of a partnership as cage is if not more :p

plus, it's not like danny won't have plenty of lore to explore.

Totally. The mask is hard.

Do you do the plunging neckline to show the dragon tattoo? Do you do the Brubaker green outfit?

It's gonna be difficult.

ugh
no idea what frank has to do with that either, to be fair
What has the Punisher to do with the race of Iron Fist?

3 Marvel shows with 3 white male protagonists. I just think it's a missed opportunity in this time of lack of Asian American representation in American media, plus having the Defenders be represented by a White male, White female, Black male, and Asian male would've been dope.

Because Iron Fist uses Martial Arts he should be Asian American? That almost seems more insulting.

LOL Instead of the White Guy using martial arts as the main hero in a mystical Asian influenced world.

Why make Iron Fist Asian American when you could just use Shang Chi, an existing (and stronger) character?

Yasssss so excited. I never cared for Iron Fist, but I read Fraction's Immortal Iron Fist run and it's one of my absolute favorite comic runs now. If anyone wants to get into the character before the show, do yourself a favor and READ IT.

I don't think his costume is that hard to realize in live-action compared to Daredevil's. Just go with this version:

A green shirt, a dragon emblem, a dark yellow hood similar to what DD wore in early season 1.
