Making my way through it, around 36 mins long.

The dude interviewed isn't an actor, he just went for a casting call looking for gamers. Pretty cool interview.

A few interesting bits:

The logos were covered in black tape initially. When it came to filming, they removed the tape to reveal what they were holding

He knew the name since September, presumably when it was filmed

Surprised the name wasn't leaked, given how many people were involved in the production

In his scene he was one of the only gamers, although recognised a gamer or two in other scenes

The Switch Unit was real, he talks a bit about what it felt like to hold. Wasn't a big fan of asymmetric Sticks, think he was used to the Wii U Gamepad

Pro Controller one of the most comfortable controllers ever. Previous best was Xbox One controller

Footage was put in Post production for the Splatoon scene. They had a Wii U Splatoon set up so actors could practice what it was like to play Splatoon.

That sounds great. Loved the Pro controller on Wii U due to being comfy and the insane battery life, with better triggers, motion controls, and a matt finish it could be even better

I don't see much hate. Some people are hung up on Andre's voice (it's different, but I like it), and others are jealous that their analyses get a lot of attention. And then there are others who don't like how they dissect everything to atoms, or how they spoil everything in advance (although the latter is something they've been better about lately).

But yeah. I love GameXplain. Their YouTube channel is the one website (other than GAF and Google News) that I consistently visit every day.

I'm surprised that they actually told everyone what they were filming for; would have figured that given the extreme secrecy around everything the actors were just given props with no logos or game info and it was all edited in during post.

mainly the amount of useless videos they put up

like in the NS trailer there was about 4 maybe 5 seconds of a new mario game, they took that footage slow it down and repeated it till they had 1 minute of footage

then they do it again only because they went though it and touched it up to fill the screen better

like i don't think either one of those videos are needed but if you gonna do it, get it right the first time, don't do a quick upload then do the proper one later down the line

i could go on like the fact like why do they upload slide shows of screen shots? but i won't, i'll just say they put out way to much content like not every piece of news needs it's own video

2. Another teaser will focus on mobile games and the touch screen.

3. A teaser focused on existing handheld games that 3DS provided.

Because in general, controller does not sell hardware. It's priority is much lower when choosing to buy something or not for most people.

Of course, low battery "life" is not good because it can interrupt user experience, but after a certain number of hours, it's going to become a much lesser issue.

Majority of people are now also used to charging their smartphone every time at the end of the day.

I love when they do post review discussions (or in general) with guests who bring insight into the topic. Their podcast is nice and mini series like Missing in Action are great. And you know what i even sit through their reviews because ive gotten used to Andre's inflection.

But the constant influx of this type of bare bones content is exactly why i cant sub to them. I have to periodically check their channel or have a friend tell me when a new video is out.
