This election has honestly made me consider moving back to California.

I'm in Washington right now and I love it here but I was considering moving back to Boise in about 2yrs once I'm done with my current contract. As a POC, I'm having major doubts over that plan.

Lincoln should have let the South secede.

He fucked up.

Arizona can stay right where the fuck it is.
You DON'T want Arizona to flip blue? Ok.

Hillary got a better percentage than Obama did in either election, Kerry, and Gore. Trump did the worst a Republican has done since Bill won it in 1996 (which was only because of Perot). We're shifting, if not fast enough.

Had that thought this morning to calm my nerves. That although Trump won, he doesn't represent the values that the people around me in my community, city, county, and state share. That feeling of defeat and uncertainty of the future was how everyone felt. I saw that in my town Trump only received 14% of the vote.

Are there affordable California areas with radio stations looking for a new guy?

Any Dollar Trees? Girl will need a district of those.

Dollar Trees are everywhere in SoCal. Don't know about the north.

You can probably make most areas of California affordable if you're willing to lower your standards of living.

I did my part and voted for Hillary, along with the props/congress (live around the Sac area). But let me tell you.. there's a lot of rural areas in Cali, too. I live in one of them. Our neighbors fly Trump flags on the regular.

Nice statement, I wholeheartedly agree.

Don't forget the large Trump signs on farmer's property!

Can't wait for Trump to use this as grudge material and withhold federal aid when the Big One strikes!

Yes, there are numerous reasons why that would be insane but so was the prospect of a Trump presidency

It would be great for Arizona to flip blue.
My neighbors did this for an hour last night. Ohio.
Fucking Texas.

I was being a sarcastic dick. Lo and behold.

California isn't a country, so like that there is a bee in my bonnet each time someone asks why can't London look for independence like Scotland might do.

However I appreciate the sentiment of what California is saying more than correcting comparisons.

The City of London seceding from the UK may not be as unlikely as people think. I mean, I doubt it will ever happen, but I think it might technically be possible.

I live in the same area, around Sac. Very red county. There's a lot of Republican areas of Cal that are balanced out by the coast, people don't know that. I grew up in one of the most republican counties of them all, felt like an entirely different state honestly

It's not like California is the only state that voted against Trump. While I agree with the general sentiment, this statement is a bit navel gazing and said congratulatory.

That reminds me I am so glad I don't live in Bakersfield anymore. Life would have been hell on earth as a minority if I still lived there.

I live in San Diego. CA is bigger than the fucking U.K. and should just be its own country. The rest of the country doesn't speak for us and can get bent with their Cheeto Jesus.

Yup. There are so many of these areas. Lots of farmland, lots of space = rural climate.

Wish I lived around more like-minded people. All of my friends growing up were republican but had no idea what it meant.

California native for my entire life. Lived in Sac, Oakland, and now San Diego. I love this state and the progress it holds.

I got a job offer in California. I guess if there was any state I'd probably move over to, this would probably be the one given the events of the day.
